That aside, what a strange argument to make. By compromising on the core identity of the thing you're making, you're attracting more people who don't like the core identity? How are you even counting this as a plus? It's the same kind of insanity as making movies or shows for an audience with such short attention spans that most of it will actually be on their phone while the show devolves into background noise. "By making a show you don't even need to pay attention to to understand, we've attracted an audience who don't even like shows" is not a win, it's a capitulation. How embarrassing.
