I'll be real: ZZZ is the only gacha that got me hooked for a while, but only because it was 1.4 patch, I got Miyabi M2 + her signature super early and I steamrolled through all the story content and most of Shiyu Defense with just her and almost perfect stat-wise disc set while blasting Metal Gear Rising and Devil May Cry 5 music. After I've done everything I realized there's nothing to do besides farming and praying to RNG to get better stats on discs, just like with any other gacha.

Dailies make no sense, weeklies make no sense, events feel hamfisted into the game, there's no FOMO at all because you can just do everything you missed anyway and catching up is insanely easy, they themselves seem to try to make the dailies as quick as possible, etc. I've been doing the Bootopia stuff and it doesn't feel like it really makes sense to be in the game. It feels like massive filler to distract you from the game being a singleplayer game.

People saying you NEED the latest characters + weapons to clear endgame don't play the game. ZZZ is easy as fuck. You only need 6 stars in DA to get the rewards that matter and 75k in SD which is a little tougher but still easy. All of this is doable with old characters. Nicole's group is presented as having survived three-ish days if I remember right (I'm seeing a mention of a "Long time" in my screenshots but no day amount, but I remember seeing that mentioned) trying to get the safebox in the intro, and then later on they spend another few days trying to get Nekomata's heirloom when they reached that one place that was going to get bombed, and the civvies are presented as currently dealing with Ether Corruption on a much lower scale in their town but they needed the train (Which was somehow insulated from it) not to instantly die.
