Off the cuff,1. SNES - peak of 2D games, great genre representation, countless classics2. PS1 - name a genre/game concept and it's probably on this console3. PS2 - not AS diverse as PS1 but the hardware is more refined and the highs went higher4. NES - a bit primitive, but it reset the industry and spawned a good number of classics5. Genesis - strong focus on fast-paced arcade designs while they could still compete, just a good ass console6. N64 - not many games, but the ones that it did have genuinely pushed 3D game design and local multiplayer to new highs7. Xbox - standardized hard drives, online multiplayer and dual analog controls for consoles8. Switch - it's like a console but in a portable form factor, really cool hardware concept9. Wii - love it or hate it, the motion controls were innovative and it had some good games if you paid attention10. Atari 2600 - more or less the moment consoles became commercially viable, it's a relic at this point but it walked so NES could run
