Thinking about it, its actually genuinely kind of astounding that the trouble on the homefront quest doesn't have a good resolution where the player actually gets to live back in the vault with the reward being a new player home where you can come and go as you want and the whole vault becomes a real settlement with some new traders and stuff opening up. Seems such an obvious good way to resolve the quest, rather than. "you saved us but you must go"

They only have to evacuate if you go with Butch’s plan to blow up the air filtration system or whatever it was. If you do option 2 or 3 you can get random events of Amata interacting with different factions and eventually she gets killed by raiders or the enclave (unless you intervene.) I like blowing up the vault for petty revenge and then donating water to hobos until my karma is neutral again so I can go collect Butch as a follower in Rivet City and continue to be a bad influence, a bully having to witness the consequences of their actions by hanging out with the weird kid they stole a sweet roll from who turned into a complete psychopath is kino.
