Do people still care about James Bond?

I still haven't seen No Time to Die. I was just done after the whole "Blofeld is actually your long lost brother and architect of all your pain" thing.

The ones who genuinely do probably only play Candy Crush on the shitter. The only reason this will even sell copies in the four digit territory is because

James Bond was great before they made him a blonde crying fag and/or a black woman

Even the worst James bond movies, the one where he dressed up as a literal clown or the one that was about some unspecified USSR heist in the 80s or the last Pierce Brosnan one that was about him getting the shit beat out of him, yeah that's at least still a bond movie. idk what the last few have been
>>
>>739097341
He just doesn't look like James Bond he looks like the guy from the 2008 Wolfenstein game.

From Russia with Love is basically the perfect Bond movie and spy film, and for some reason they made it into a video game and had an elderly Connery voice a young Bond.
>>
Yes people still care about James Bond despite whatever retarded grievances you have.

Kinda sucks to see everyone hating on Dalton because apparently his movies are just generic, diamond dozen 80s action flicks. Makes me feel like I only like them as much as I do because I've never seen any 80s action flicks.

>>
>>739097952
You have to understand that License to Kill, the least successful Bond movie ever, came out in 1989, it had to compete with every single action movie in the 80s. Terminator, Predator, Robocop, Ghostbusters, the ENTIRE 80s action boom in 1984, Alien 2 in 1987. It was effectively an OK movie released after the best action movies ever made. If it were released today it would get no where near as much flak or as many people hating it.

I like James Bond films and i like spy espionage based video games. Moreover i like the stealth based ones. Only downside with prior Bond games is that they were less stealth oriented than i had hoped for and I'm not as fond as people are for Goldeneye.
So this is the first Bond game that i care about. At least i hope that it ends up being what I have hoped for since it is associated with Hitman this time around. I'm a big Hitman fan too in general. But more the OG games. 2SA-Contracts-Blood Money.

Roger Moore was in the most Bond movies... between 1973 and 85, no less... and yet, he gets the least play and killed the least people. How is that even possible? Dalton was in two Bond films and Lazenby was in one, and they have more kills per on screen minute.

Brosnan could return as a 75 year old Bond, and I don;t think I would give a fuck about his age. He still looked pretty good in MobLand. The people who hold the rights to Never Say Never Again could remake that movie all over again as an off brand Bond movie and just hire Pierce.

Yeah I felt like Skyfall was trying to be more like the old movies, Spectre too. And I kinda liked the latter desu, seems like the Brofeld thing just eclipsed everything else about it for most people.

in 1997 Bond was controlling his car with a Sony Ericson phone. It's not like smart devices and drones are that much of a leap over any of Bonds older tech.

I don;t know the details behind this, but never Say never Again was essentially a remake of the movie Thunderball and was made without any involvement from Eon productions. It is non-cannon bond movie with Connery returning one last time as Bond while Moore was the official Eon Bond. Honestly, it is one of my favorites of the 1980's Bond movies. It was basically Bond Unleashed.

I liked Quantum of Solace despite the schizo editing

>God tier opening
>Greene being a textbook psychopath
>Opera scene
>Bond being drunk 24/7
>The final battle
>>
>>739104890
I never understood the hate Quantum of Solace got.

Yeah, it's not the best written film but we're talking about Bond here. They're all shit.

Also, I like that Quantum of Solace completely threw that Vesper shit out. Simping and "Who hurt you?" crap has no place in a Bond film. Bond is a fucking man, not a pussy. And, frankly, she was a crappy Bond girl anyway.
>>
>>739105068
Quantum of Solace editing and pacing was too fast compared to other Bond movies. There was no levity or a chance the audience to breathe. Mr. Greene wasn't funny or charismatic villain. He was just pure evil.

QoS is a time capsule of the 2000's when everything was edgy and super serious.
>>
>>739105180
>There was no levity or a chance the audience to breathe.
Good. It's an action film. Keep the pace high.
>He was just pure evil.
Most Bond villains are.

The film immediately following it is a guy who is pure evil just because he thought his boss was actually his surrogate mommy which is then followed up by Bond's evil twin who has decided to take over the world just to spite Bond. I'll take Greene over that crap.
>>
>Daniel Craig Bond
>Falls in love with Madeleine whose father, Mr. White, was responsible for killing Vesper

In any other Bond era, Bond would fuck Madeleine just to spite Mr.White and would brag about conceiving a bastard baby to Mr.White's face.
>>
>tfw Tomorrow Never Dies enjoyer
>Can't discuss about it because Goldeneyefags shit up the discussion and then Brosnan haters say that Dalton was better

Feels sad.
>>
>>739105068
Bond was mostly in it to avenge Vesper even though he pretends that he's over it, which is why the movie ends with him confronting her boyfriend. Though I think Craig pretended to not care a bit too hard, License To Kill did the whole "Bond is fucking pissed" thing better on top of being a semi-sequel to OHMSS.
>>
>>739097341
No white women?
>>
>>739105714
>Bond was mostly in it to avenge Vesper even though he pretends that he's over it, which is why the movie ends with him confronting her boyfriend.
I disagree.

I think that's what it was assumed he was doing when in fact he was entirely motivated by his duty. I think this is why he doesn't kill Vesper's boyfriend, why he drops Vesper's necklace on the ground and walks away and why when M says to him "I need you back." he responds with "I never left." He was always just doing his job, not trying to get revenge for a dumb bitch.

>License To Kill did the whole "Bond is fucking pissed" thing better
Absolutely. Second best Bond film.
>>

The new Bond movie ironically will have the same setting as Casino Royale

>The antagonist is working some 2spoopy organization financing terrorists through arms, drugs or stock exchange
>To appease the zoomer audience Bond drinks gin tonic or IPA unironically
