Im about to buy a solder gun to try and fix my og xbox. I'm pretty sure the hard drive is fucked (even though it shows up on my pc with fatxplorer), but i can't swap it out without a modchip or having it already softmodded and working, which i didn't do

>>739100283Lol that's the thing, I remember a few years ago it always showed up with Error 7 or some shit, which is the DVD drive failing. Now when I turn it on, it shows up with HDD related errors. I'm gonna install a chip with a custom bios that skips the DVD check and install a new hard drive. I think that'll fix itI didn't fuck with it at the time because i also bought a cheap softmodded 1,0 Xbox that broke last year, and I have no idea what's wrong with that one. Just flashes red/green, hard drive also shows up on my PC, no error codes (because its a 1,0) either.
The 4:3 aspect ratio makes them pretty unplayable.
