To the anon who said that spacers don't care about the SNC. I was rereading pilgrims and, as I thought I remembered, the main reason Tuno Vocc, basically the lord of a Dune-style Spacer high house, doesn't just send in heavy mech spears to stomp Mar Nosso flat for the death of his daughter is that it's considered "protected" by the SNC, or rather, the greater corporate body that built the Solo Nobre Concern as a shell. Whatever resources they control, it's big enough that Vocc wouldn't consider any plans for retribution that endangered his relationship with the company. Zhe is ultimately the one who provides the answer: he's an exile and can be denied as a Vocc asset after the fact, succeed or fail.

scavenge roundabout or shoreline until you get your hands on some LAWs.
ambush the APC(s) from maximum range.
you can carry extra in a backpack and do a shuffle to get them out while in a safe location
>>
>>739131138
You either avoid them or build an upgunned Panel Van with a decent gun in it. You can exploit their retarded AI by aggro'ing them then letting them drive into a wall and get stuck because they haven't implemented a proper AI for wheeled vehicles yet.
Vanderberg has a single APC which you can take out then loot it for a pair of M60s (Porco) and a ton of 7.62, which lets you shred every unarmored infantry unit and stunlock them, while you can use it to duel APCs at this point.

I ran that mission with the loyalist rig and no inventory. Just grab the shotgun from the cop car nearby and the bandages. Sometimes the shotty doesn't spawn, just try again. Then I grab the van and beeline it through the fence on the east side, circle 'round north, then slam into the nook with the crate at full speed. Get out of the car, shotgun anyone that follows you around the corner. Load the crate, drive off. It took a few tries but I'm sure there's a better Gamer™ than me here.

you are better off taking a single LAW to the dromo villa mission, along with a voltan bog rifle
there should be a single uparmored apc chilling in a barricade.
pick off the cops until you are able to get in range of that APC with the LAW
shoot it once with that, and it won't kill it, but it WILL force the driver to bail in fear.
once you kill the rest of them you can have that APC.

use your carmine rig on the second part of the mission to circle and kick down the enemies in the boss fight one by one in ambushes.
hide behind pillars, let them get close, then pop out and WHAM.
they get proned and stunned for each kick so its easy to kill everyone.
>>
some bad boy surely has the Brigador Killers audiobook and is surely willing to upload it, hahaha right?

do the mogs in the dromon mission not have any ammo?
>>

I never found out because I never gave them the chance... no wait... I think I saw them trying to shoot at me.
They take a second to get a bead on you, and I never gave them that chance because there are all those pillars to hide behind and its in the dark.
I never let them face me and would wait until I could sprint at full speed, and kick them down.

When you engage the middle mog the sniper WILL start to run up but I never found it to be a big issue.

>>
>>739134186
I don't think they're Corvids. My guess is Spacers because they're seen around the Space Sniper and by themselves in Sinkhole. In lieu of any other Spacer units, I think they're all we've got right now. If they were Corvid, surely they'd spawn with the other Corvids.

>>739134283

On the other hand, they can drop Lobo legs, and that's not Spacer tech. Maybe it's Corvids who managed to get some "merchandise".

Honestly, you're better off just hijacking one.
That said, the APCs are only really useful very early on. The moment you can afford a Mog or bigger the APC, even the uparmored one with dual M60s, just becomes kinda shitty.

>>
>>739131138
Thermobarics can handle them but they take between 3 and 5 grenades so you'll want to have at least three instances of them for the mission to guarantee you can take out at least two and get to the crate by the one in the center of the map which always has more explosives of some kind. It's a totally safe option though since you can throw them over cover and the APCs will struggle to get to you, or not even try in the case of the patrolling ones.
>>
>>739135452
don't click this, it's spacer dolphin porn :(
>>
>>739131889
Just did it again. You're only unlucky if you encounter a third APC right by the crate, and even then he has a tendency to drive straight into a wall. The panel van by spawn should get you to the crate with 300hp left if you're not dillydallying. I got unlucky this time around with the third APC, but one of the cops had a fucking Pen Pal for some reason so I took it out no problem. Guess it all balances out.
>>
>>739135937
>but one of the cops had a fucking Pen Pal for some reason
In the top area with the original Carmine crate one of them ALWAYS has a pen pal.
>>
>>739135289
Most of it is probably to do with the way wheeled vehicles handle unlike treads/legs/agrav which make wheeled vehicles tougher to maneuver in tight spots. Having the durability of an agrav with worse handling definitely doesn't help survivability, not to mention the AI can't handle it either lmao
>>
>>739135452

Anyone knows how to get the blue topped quest crates again? The ones which have the rigs inside? I know they only have 500 capacity like normal large crates but they're unique and get replaced by generic large crates after unlocking the rigs.
If anything there should also be more slots in the garage so we can display all out pimped out rides and other unique but otherwise useless oddities.
>>
I finally think I understand the breaker's wheel and the Frank, you can use them to break those big security doors and mousehole through structures, even when in the loyalist rig.
>>
>>739140679
I'm kind of hoping for some pixelated-ass color options, like putting corvid teal strips on shit.

That said, you can scrap everything you don't need at the moment and just rebuild it. Note that this does not work with the 5k merchant crates.

>>
I don't understand what I'm meant to do on the Wilderness mission? Retrieve the crates? With what?
>>
>>739142540
Leave with the Carmine Rig. You don't need the crate itself, the rig weighs 300 and can be loaded into anything with that much capacity. Eg. the panel van in that mission's parking lot.
>>
>>739142540
There's a crate far to the "north" which has carmine suit parts in it. You need to get it back to base, you can lift carry the whole crate out if you have a vehicle that can handle it, or you can place it in something that has the capacity for it
>>739142737
It only weighs 200 iirc
>>
I must have missed something, so hopefully I find it, but in case I don't: What do I do with the Carmine Rig parts after they've been brought back to the garage? Salvage them?
>>739142540
Get a loader vehicle of some kind. The mission very clearly implies you need something to haul it. It's a big crate at the back of the map. Make an up-gunned loader van or a loader TukTuk. Either can hold large crates. Just be sure to stash the vehicles somewhere safe while you clear a path to the box in question.

>Make an up-gunned loader van
what you're telling me I shouldnt be entering every mission with just a machine gun and some binoculars?
>>
>>739142856
Never mind, figured it out. For those who also don't know: drop the parts at the armory pad and either return to menu to refresh the garage, or come back from another mission - the rig will be wearable at its display case on the upper-right end of the garage.
>>739143082
Nothing wrong with that, but bringing something to store your fat stacks of loot is good if you plan on coming out with as much as you can grab. You're not making it out of Wilderness with the rig if you don't have a vehicle capable of either carrying the crate or pockets with 200 capacity to stuff the rig parts into.
>>
>>739143082
>machine gun
Just kick nearest cop and grab his .45
Run in circles from APCs until they get stuck in geometry and plink away
In wilderness there's two guards with BMG snipers to deal with railroaded APCs
>>739143242
>making it out of Wilderness with the rig
There's one guaranteed van near spawn

The book flatly states that the SNC ultimately succeeded and got the planet open finally and took control of the city

This whole setting reads as somewhere between the CorpoNobles of Dune and the general societal decay of 40k, but with little to no space magic.

It does feel like the Saints and the machines having a little bit of a ghost in them and those walking skeletons on the roster gives the series a little bit of magic, but it's less of a "I roll a d100 to lightning bolt!" magic, and more esoteric forces at work sort of magic.

>I was rereading pilgrims
Stopped reading right there. The audio books are good but they're pretty inaccurate in terms of lore. There's a lot of shit the author gets wrong. For example in the audio book the contract is open to everyone and broadcasted all across the city on radios and message boards. In the game the SNC carefully scouts potential Brigadors, looking into things they can use to blackmail or bribe them into turning against their own. Fuck, the author constantly gets NEP's name wrong, constantly referring to them as the NPA. Also there's some inconsistencies with locations' lore. For example in the audiobooks the necropolis is treated as some sacred, almost religious place whereas in the game it's more of a popular hangout for junkies and drug dealers that was the source of a lot of sometimes violent conflict over grave duty rights among early colonists due to a species of ivy with narcotic properties that grew all over the necropolis.
tl;dr: don't treat the books as actual lore.

>>
>>739147554
Vorobey is the only one that really gets any real lore in the game and one of the reasons is it's primarily because it was one of the first ones built. In the audiobook the necropolis is referred to as THE necropolis and it's treated with a lot of historical significance so it's probably safe to assume the one mentioned in the audiobook is the Vorobey one. Even if that's not the case, it's still not really lore friendly because the audiobook almost makes it sound like it's the only one and the resting places of all of Solo Nobre's dead.

I like that enemies feel more human and suppressing fire is very effective, but yeah, once you get any consistent levels of ammo and any decent assault rifles / machine guns with good rates of fire, it's often just completely overwhelming for the AI.

Probably what is needed is scaling the suppression effect with the Training (enemy tier) and gear of the opponents better.

So elite guys with more firepower and better armor take way more too spook. But your average cops and crooks will still panic and hit the floor at the 1st burst of automatic fire.
Right now seems like all enemies react the same.

>Enemies hitting the deck needs refinement, as currently ig it JUST makes them shoot back less
It does a bit more than that from what I've seen. It feels like suppressing enemies either with heavier weapons or more sustained fire makes them hit the dirt longer making them more vulnerable to getting up close and stomping them or blowing them up with grenades and mortars. Really makes me think it's a shame that the devs can't figure out how to do multiplayer because it'd open up some pretty neat tactics. You could have your buddy driving an APC or some other vehicle with a mounted machine gun, forcing enemies to go prone while you go on foot for greater accuracy, hitting prone enemies with mortars or sniper rifles.
Could still work if they're able to code competent friendly AI that you could order around but they still need to fix the kinks in the enemy AI before they even think about the possibility of coding friendlies

>but theyre actually NEP soldiers under orders to fuck up Mor Nostra
They're a mix of former Corvids and NEP soldiers actually. Pretty sure the idea is after the events of Brigador a good number of Corvids were probably pissed off that the SNC's method of "liberating" Novo Solo involved turning some of their buddies against them and mowing down shanty towns so they banded together with NEP loyalists to form a new faction dedicated to hunting down the Brigadors who fucked up Solo Nobre and generally wreaking havoc on the SNC.

There's that bit in the story where they're asking their contact about how they came to acquire all that military hardware on Mar Nosso and him explaining it was all bought and paid for by advance teams that came before. It had nothing to do with them fearing the SNC and everything to do with their contract. That was the whole conflict with Tuno Vocc getting annoyed with his posturing lieutenants and why Zhe provided the answer. He knew they had to go in and settle the score, but he also knew that they had a defense pact with Mar Nosso and couldn't land troops without going against their agreement.
The contract is everything to them; arguably the only unselfish value they hold.

Its a bit unclear but the book seems to state that while the SNC succeeded in breaking the blockade and having nominal control of the city, that the NEP still controls some decent portion of it and can't be rooted out, and are now waging an intergalactic guerilla war to break the stalemate

Blake got promoted to being one of the new Commander-General's inner circle presumably because she was one of the last competent people left, and probably also saved the total collapse of the city with her actions

I'm not really sure how the NEP is still holding on though, my headcanon is that they've turned a few districts into mega fortresses with still operational orbital cannons

The crates you buy with vehicle/mech kits from the black market trader are "Large crates" but instead of holding 500, they hold 5,000.
Looks like a quick and dirty workaround because they kits they sell usually are more than 500 inventory space so they just made some "special" crates.
Once you get one, you can just hold onto it and never worry again about storage with any vehicle that can hold a large crate.

What am I even meant to buy at the merchant? I only have 1000 credits despite looting every body
>>
>>739157516
Yeah I did notice that later on. Could have played into that but it was less effort to just speedrun the cop junkyard money mission a few times, because I didn't take the time to record the inventory.
>>
>>739158330
Anything you want, it's all affordable. The suits drop 100 often, but real money is restricted to the bottom of Sinkhole, or Vanderberg. It's in crates on those missions.
>>
>>739158330
Vandenberg has two crates with credits in them. Be ready for an APC
>>
>>739158330
Couple ways to make money. A few missions have big credit loot piles (easiest one is the cop elimination mission at the junkyard). Merchant buys specific scrap.
>>
>>739158482
>Merchant buys specific scrap
Like engines and such? I see a "sell" tab. Not sure how to work it though
>>
>>739158330
Nothing until you got money. Run the Sinkhole, NOSOPOL Ammo Dump, Vanderberg or Vilutian Promenade.
>>
>>739158523
Anything you can buy from them, you can also sell.
>>
>>739158523
It's a verb not a tab. You sell whatever you have highlighted, so anything he sells he also buys. It's tough to make money selling to him outside of a specific exploit. You buy the light weapons crate and sell the ammo.
>>
>>739158523
>I see a "sell" tab
It's next to the 'buy' button when you select something. So far you can only sell stuff the merchant buys; engines, parts, exotic ammo, etc.
My suggestion for money farming is to bring a van to the nospol ammo depot and load it up with the ammo with placeholder sprites, and sell it all off.

I see that but am I stupid? I can't click it. I have a Large E-Engine in the van I brought. I parked the van over the green space.
>>
>>739159180
It's a little janky, if the sell button won't light up drive off and then on, maybe get out and use the merchant again with the van on the pad
>>
>>739158595
>You buy the light weapons crate and sell the ammo
I was just about to ask someone how to do this. I don't usually like cheesing games, but I've lost both a Mog and a Fork to touching the exit at an inconvenient time. I hope the full game has a "are you sure you want to leave" dialog for the levels the garage does.

He's talking about lore entries written by the in universe character "MB," not the game or the book in general. There's three different characters that write the intel breakdowns and they're distinctly different. Gameplay wise, completely inconsequential but the deep context is why a lot of us are crazy about it.

I mean you could, but really seems like a waste of dev time.
Unless they really want the public testing data for something.
It's already an impressively full demo content wise and if it hasn't convinced you to be excited for the full game, nothing will.
I guess filling in the placeholder art and adding descriptions would help with the presentation to sell it better though, now that I say it.

I see Spacers as a satire of players 'looking down' on the apartment blocks and wriggling yellow raincoats of Solo Nobre like they are nothing more than ants. From their perspective, space is the true home of the elite, and the dirt-dwellers beneath them are nothing more than vermin whose destruction is of no significance. Spacers only begrudgingly work with terrestrial humans for profit and resource extraction, but simultaneously will never openly admit that human beings are ultimately terrestrial based creatures and can't stay in space forever for health and safety reasons, which is why there are entire districts populated by Spacers. So it's a combination of deep-seated loathing for terrestrial humans from the perspective of space-dwellers and a profound sense of embarrassment that they are forced to spend some time on planets as a result of the weaknesses of the human body.

What's particularly interesting is that many of the Spacers actually seem like decent people, even if that makes them outcasts by Spacer standards: Katar Joutsen is a runaway sex slave clone trying to survive by her wits (kind of like Pris in Blade Runner), Nemi is a family man reduced to alcoholism after losing his wife and child to plague, Lovell Archer is a proud warrior with little interest in the depraved hedonism of most Spacers, which is why Chatfield admits he's the closest thing to 'good' that Spacers are, Aline Vocc is only fighting for SNC so she can continue her deep respect for tradition and not be forcibly sterilized, and Deni Haapala is basically a wandering Jomsviking mercenary searching for an honourable death so he can ascend to the afterlife.
>>
>>739163589
They're decent people by spacer standards, they're still psychopaths with tons of money that came to Solo Nobre just for the thrill of combat
>>
Is there any other way to dealing with enemies other than baiting them into corners or exploiting their AI? I'm trying to get the loyalist rig from Wilderness and while I do what other Anons said in these threads by baiting, I quickly run out of ammo for my SMG and shotgun when they swarm me. >>
>>739146757
Man, just slap double Sarissas on the full upgunned Mech. Absolutely insane. Cleared the entire map of Pasochyny so fast I thought I was only half done.
The thing is these laser canons always kill what you hit and have massive AOE so they don't really suppress anyone to eat up your time, they just obliterate everything.
I'm going to be really curious to see what kind of later missions they throw at us to justify this level of raw firepower.
The 20mm Auto cannon isn't nearly as good because less AOE and the ammo take much more space, but those still shred too.
>>
>>739165839
that's not true, at least one person has mentioned in each of our threads that they thought leaving things on the floor would cause them to be stored because the popup says that will happen
I've never been one of them, but I have commiserated with them because it happened to me too early on and left me wondering where all the guns I'd been kicking out onto the ground went.

It made the upgunned panel van your one stop shop for most of the garage missions and a normal panel van is so easy to get that there was never any point to using any of the other normal cars, so I can see why they changed it. Most combat vehicles can't mount large crates anyway so it's not like you still aren't being made to pick between salvage capacity and guns.

Yeah. It's also why their culture values hedonism and excess over productivity. Seeing ordinary people as lowly worker bees, unworthy of their luxurious cities and advanced medical care, means the only 'working' Spacers are cyclolucidites like Oscar Allard. The senseless killing and destruction is the only thing they have left to do because they have met all of their basic needs without any scarcity.

I actually really like that about the first game. Every time I start a mission I always try to be careful and not step on anyone, right up until the action starts and I start doing calculations on "minimizing" civilian casualties.
I hope this game has more of the same. It's certainly a theme in the second book, but I'd love it of hostiles surrendered or ran, and let me feel like a piece of shit for killing them anyway. Or if there were more objectives that you could potentially make at the cost of some serious collateral damage.

Why was the SNC so admant on retaking Solo Nobre back from the NEP besides recouping corporate losses? Solo Nobre was one city on Novo Solo what made it more important that the SNC didn't think to just focus on the other cities on the colony?
>>
>>739180682
I think there's just the one other city on the planet and it's borderline a myth that it even exists, it definitely isn't producing anything of significant value on a galactic scale. Then again I don't think the original game actually established what Solo Nobre was producing that made it valuable either, it's not like a Dune situation where there's magic Novo soil for space travel or anything..
>>
>>739180682
>largest city on Novo Solo
>Home of the NEP which overthrew the SNC in the first place
>filled with orbital guns that complicate the shit out of a ground invasion
Any more dumb questions?
>>
>>739180226
But they've got some really advanced tech and good fighters
>>
>>739180682
Solo Nobre is by far the largest and most developed city on the planet, and a good chunk of the other ones aren't even owned by SNC

Furthermore its probably a matter of pride for some egotistical bigwigs, wanting to make an example of a colony that succeeded in breaking away
>>
>entire insurgency being bankrolled to lower property prices
>>
>>739180682
That's what they do. A lot of flavor text implies this is business as usual for them, and Solo Nobre is just one of many colonies that the SNC's wider conglomerate manages. I'm sure losing it for so long probably stung the collective egos of whoever was at the top of that particular corporate structure, but ultimately it probably came down to sharholders being annoyed that number wasn't going up.

I'm mildly curious to hear how he even survived the Long Night. Dude was planning to go out in a blaze of glory for a life insurance payout, not retire in the lap of luxury. Either the SNC severely underestimated him or it turned out all he ever needed to do was stop giving a shit.
>>
>>739181304
Cephei obviously has nothing to do with this and is probably nowhere hear Mar Nosso

Efi is a coin flip but seemed to really not like the NEP, probably working as a scientist or engineer for the SNC

Im still not sure how MB finessed his way back into the NEPs good graces, must've agreed to be a mole feeding them intel
>>
What are rigs even supposed to be? Dromon is definitely more (less) than just some armored uniform. And a Cinderblock is almost a Suit by itself.
Gameplay makes it feel like Synthetic where player remote controls a humanoid drone. But there was no such thing in the lore here, or am I missing something?

>>739181760
Depends on the rig, the Loyalist one is just a modern tacticool getup, the dromon rig is spacer weirdo shit, the carmine rig is a battle rig from Volta thats similar to powered exoskeletons

Theyre far too small in scope of the first game to be relevant

I hope Chatfield makes alive at least. Pic related really makes me want to see more interactions with them.
I wouldn't mind if Efi died though. She's supposed to be the gun person, but all the best descriptions come from Beck anyway, so aside from being a flatter character, she's also sort of redundant.
>>
>>739181760
Rigs are just like the minimum viable equipment I guess? The cinderblock and carmine parts are probably connected to the suits under them in such a way that you can't fit into it without being totally naked and the dromon is probably form-fitting underneath the cloak, while proper power suits have at least a little space inside to fit a standard uniform.
>>
>>739180905
>what Solo Nobre was producing that made it valuable either
Fast food chain is the only thing the game mentions as a notable export and is supposed to be very popular among other frontier colonies
>Even before there was a Great Leader, the founding interests in Solo Nobre (the same that have come back to reclaim it) knew that the colony held great potential for military and economic interests
From the entry about trains in first book
It's never directly explained but there's probably a huge deposit of unobtainium or something. Military is far more vague, maybe the planet has a strategic position among the colonies, maybe it falls outside of legal jurisdiction area so corps could test their bioweapon shit before selling it to spacers there
In other words - Burgers, oil and WMDs

>>73918272
Nobre has everything, vast mineral mines, oil wells, heavy industry, large population, self sustaining agriculture

Almost every reference to manual labor in the books goes back to mining so its likely the main export

Its also the seat of power of the planet
>>
>>739180682
Nobre is an absolutely gigantic city state that has amazing resources and environment outside of hell animals
>>
>>739182728

>Burgers, oil and WMDs
But in the opinion of this Brigador, it was all about pussy. If you took NEP upper branch and put their assets in Mar Nosso for a weekend, there wouldn't be a need for a hostile takeover. If Great Leader invested more in the pussy infrastructure of Solo Nobre instead of his gay ass orbital grid, then his city would be no more fucked up than say, Exio

The lore entries in Brigador are hilarious. Cephei, Efi and MB all have very different writing styles representative of their factions but also have their own idiosyncracies.
>>
>>739183796
Yes, that was the main point since they were basically 90s Russia/Belgian Congo until Great Leader took over
>>
>>739183796
Great Leader wasnt soft or benevolent, he ruled with an iron fist

What made him different was he wasnt interested in number go up and was an actual Nobrean, not some hyper rich guys in suits that are several solar systems away

The greatest boon of his reign was massively cutting down on the cost of amenities, but realistically he could do nothing to significantly improve quality of life under the autarky he established, but opening the doors back up to the SNC was an inevitable slow crawl back to corporate rule
>>
>>739184008
>realistically he could do nothing to significantly improve quality of life under the autarky he established
He did seem interested in improving the lives of his citizens and that seemed to have paid off. Despite what the Corvids claim, Solo Nobre was like Singapore and the Great Leader had to take some authoritarian measures in order to Solo Nobre to prosper
>>
>>739183809
Interestingly there was also a cloning experiment called texas 7
>>
>>739183796
He did make an effort into improving their lives, the yellow coats were apparently made of sturdy stuff and he handed them to every citizen
