I quit playing about a week after hitting max level. Turns out that vanilla is basically a dead end at 60. There's zero progression unless you nolifemaxx with raids against brainless bots from 30 years ago

Peak WoW was TBC and WotLK. There's actual pvp gear and progression at max level. PvE is lame. Fighting bots is lame. Scheduling hours of your life days/weeks in advance to fight 30 year old bots is the most loserish shit imaginable

World PvP is the best. Camping stormwind. In the mage tower, or the battleground room so you can kill players when they pop out of the BG in stormwind castle, mostly dead and expecting safety. Raiding towns with your friends. Controlling demons in Outland that can one shot max level players, releasing boss demons in capital cities, or releasing infernals in starting zones that slaughter countless lowbies until the GMs get involved

Leveling is a 7/10 at best compared to this

Battlegrounds are okay and can be grinded for pvp gear in TBC and WotLK at least. My warlock just wore garbage greens forever because I didn't need gear to control elite demons, or summon infernals/doomguards. However I did have to BG for other classes

There's no pvp gear progression in vanilla though. It's no life raidmaxxing or nothing

i had a 60 of nearly every class and all of them were in SW. the day they announced the end of the server i sold every item on every character but my mage and gave away all my gold and bags. my mage kept his gear and his dignity though, he was the first character i made on there and the first 60. RIP turtle, it was the best version of WoW i've played since 2008. i'm sure i'll get the itch to play again at some point but i think i might finally just let the game go - turtle seems like a fitting nostalgia tour to end it on.

I much prefer stock Vanilla to TBC and Wrath. They ruined the game with the first expansion and made it worse with every expansion thereafter.
They should have just added more levelling zones from the start and kept the old world relevant.
It's moot though because they will be announcing a proper classic+ soon and my assumption is they are just going to re-brand turtle wow after they stole all their assets and sell it back to us.
