And it's called Digimon Net Driver if you're curious. I think I'm gonna try it again to see if it gotten better after a year.

>>739161739I wouldn't really say it's grindy, getting items is generally quick, doing the training makes you have less stamina to use, and the PVP you only do once you've trained enough. Getting through the first four stages takes two days but it's not like you're constantly playing. You do a few things every three hours or so. It's literally just what is advertised, it's basically a mobile take on one of the digital monster v-pets. That's why the focus on PVP because that's how Digimon evolve in those. There's no microtransactions though so it's just all a matter of your time investment.

>>739163636I feel they're more balanced like RPG loot. There's some you can only get by searching and some you can only get in the store. There's even some that are only from fighting specific enemies. A Digimon only needs a certain amount of fights to evolve, so you only need a certain amount of drivers to potentially evolve. For example, Child stage needs a 50% WR with at least 15 battles, so at minimum, you would need 10 drivers if you were using every single slot for the 7 battles needed to evolve. This is not always going to be the case though, as some drivers are more costly to equip, and some have specific slot requirements. This does increase with each stage but if you're winning enough to evolve, you also get bits which you can use to buy drivers. You get 100 or so per win at Child stage so every 2 fights you can get another Driver. With a 50% WR you'd be getting enough for 3 Drivers, which offsets some of the usage. Ultimately there's not really any point to playing but personal satisfaction of growing a Digimon to higher stages.
