If ecelebs started saying it sucked would that make the price go down?

Are you a player or collector? The shitty CD in a jewel box has no objective value
>>
>>739154029
For fucks sake stop whining about the prices of retro games. You want the original discs and carts to be priced on what you think the software is worth and that's not how the collectible market works. Anything that is scarce in quantity and has any kind of fandom attached to it is going to be valuable, and the value is only going to go up. If you actually care about playing the game then maybe stop acting like someone owes you a cheap copy of the original game, and emulate it instead or mod a PS1 and play a backup rip. Not wanting to pay collector market prices while feeling entitled to owning an original copy is 100% a you problem.

Stop treating games, trading cards, sneakers, sweaters, comics, bikes etc as investment opportunities.
Games are the experience they provide, the adventure they take you on. Obsessing over a plastic box is mental illness. Let it go.

Will never happen because it is objectively a good game and everyone would know that its bait to say the game sucked. Also I think its better than the overrated SH2. Its the real best SH game of the series.

No
The remake might do that however

I already own a copy fyi
I bought it years ago for 30 bucks, but even I still get pissed seeing it in retro stores going for hundreds.
>>
>>739154029
just emulate it, I sold off my collection over the years. There's disk rot and the likes, eventually the nostolgia craze will wear off and it'll be valueless

>the value is only going to go up
like atari games? gen alpha isn't going to give a shit about PS1 games
>>
>>739154029
Collectors are going to collect, a fomo-but-rich people with goycattle mentality would buy this thing for $2000 because some eceleb said that its rare and good.

Nah just wait until the remake comes out
Original was never good and it's thankfully being reimagined for modern audiences
It's not going to stop people with too much money from collecting shit
>>
>>739157380
What is the correct price for a retro game and what should be the punishment for selling a retro game for more than the state-approved price?

The correct price is whatever the market is willing to pay it at end of story
>>
>>739158065
The original is the more gooder one actually. Thankfully it's being remade so modern audiences actually have the chance to experience it without their retarded "icky clunky 3d" mentality and overall fear/incompetence to emulate (or worse yet, fucking watch it on youtube or, and may Allah forgive me for uttering this, Video Essays).
Maybe it can finally replace 2 in the zeitgeist once and for all

I got dino crises for a steal of like $27

I can't wait for midwich to extended to 4 hours while you collect the 3 things to unlock thing to collect 3 more things. I also can't forget the moving bin "puzzles" to pad out run time

Try telling that to beanie baby collectors.

>If you actually care about playing the game then maybe stop acting like someone owes you a cheap copy of the original game
The reason there's animosity towards people who are predatory speculators in a market for which they have no primary interest is that 20 years ago second hand video games were all cheap/free. Not saying all collectors are like this, but a significant portion of them are parasitic to video game culture as a whole. Previously when someone was done with a game, they'd put it in a bargain bin somewhere or just hand it off to some kid. There wasn't a second hand market for games and this was great if you were an adult who wanted to play or own that one game from your childhood. It's more about the shift in culture from second hand games being something that you passed around like used t shirts to other people who loved video games, rather than having them be this precious artefact to be horded, which I too mourn.

I think the first 3 games on original hardware have a completely different feel than anything a remake or rerelease could capture which is what makes it such a shame faggot scalpers are trying to sell the shit for like four hundred fucking dollars

at least half a year in a hard labor camp where your spiritually jewish ass learns the real value of money, labor, freedom and other important things.
A drug dealer is more respectable than a scalper/collector item salesman.

Why don’t they make new discs? Is playstation really invested in the “you will own nothing” constant surveillance future?

>Why don’t they make new discs?
Because it costs money + more and more people do NOT have any system that CAN play discs of any sort + it's much more profitable to FORCE people to RE-BUY their old shit on the new systems, digitally, over and over again.

It also kills the borrowing culture, meaning no more sharing vidya with your friends and family.

>Is playstation really invested in the “you will own nothing” constant surveillance future?
tl;dr: YES.
Remember: most PS5 consoles do not have a disc drive.
