Try to understand what your character is good at, and how you can use their toolkit to win
Learn the maps
Try to predict where fights are going to take place; you can see where your teammates are and what they are looking at by their outlines through walls and then act accordingly
Use your cooldowns for a purpose; think about how you should use them
Engage the enemy when you have an advantage
Specifically for tracer: practice your aim, dodge enemy abilities and keep yourself alive with blink, wait for an easy pulse bomb before you use it, stay within your effective range, use cover to avoid taking damage, try to always have blinks and recall available when you're fighting someone, take easy duels instead of difficult ones
