Millennislop cinemashit moviegame
>>
The game is for 12-14 year old boys and if you're playing it the first time, without a guide, some parts are indeed pretty challenging.
>>
It was the first big animesque story and character driven epic with cool FMVs and battle animations. The cyberpunkesque mako lights in high tech steel, Akira motorcycles, big swords and wild haircuts. I played it in the 90s.

Most games are for 12-14 year old boys.
1 or 2 difficult bosses due to unexplained mechanics. Passed the final mission/boss without a guide and didn't die once.
>>
Your daily "FFVII was always shit" threads won't make Remake any more popular, ranesh.

Bro can only communicate in buzzwords
>>
>>739173879
Nobody cares for the remake except nostalgic millenisharts and psyopped zoomers
>>
I'm pretty sure people get rekt at the elevator boss, materia keeper, the shinra manor boss, demon wall etc.
It's not a particularly difficult game but after you finish it a dozen times it feels trivial.
People been finding ways to break and trivialize ff7 for 30 years now.

Both your threads lmao. Really min-maxing on trying to get that shitty bait out there huh?

Wrong
Just two smart chads with the correct opinion trying to educate the masses
>>
>>739173879
I love both and I love drawing Tifa wrestling ryona
>>
>>739173628
I was fucking stupid as a kid and didn't know how to get past the Midgar Zolom so I grinded until I could survive and learn Beta.
>>
>>739174861
I hope they cut the Scarlet/Tifa slap fight out of the remake. It just seems like a strange reduction of two really powerful characters for the sake of leaning into a gendered cliché and a little too silly for me to find ‘funny’
>>
>>739174967
that slapfight was kino
all those silly little scenes that don't fit the serious tone of the story are what give the game its charm
>>
I struggled with the materia keeper somehow even with level two materia and I remember grinding ten levels from about twenty four outside cosmo canyon
I beat it first time with Cait Sith's limit that merged all your characters into one

it has platforming sections, you idiot!!

Materia Keeper doesn't have elemental weaknesses and its regular attacks and Trine hit hard and it can heal itself. Also if you recruited Vincent in Nibelheim just before Materia Keeper, his 1st limit break would heal the boss because it absorbs fire

This game influenced Bioslop games like Baldurs Gate 2 and KOTOR, this type of games are shallow casual RPGs for people who like story and romance and not gameplay and combat and level design.

At least Final Fantasy 7 had good story and music, better than Bioslo games.

fair
>>
>>739176579
At least better than Bioware stories Not saying that as a story is worthwhile, cause if you really want great stories then dont play videogames for that.
Even Anime shows tend to have far better storytelling than the best games.
>>
>>739176579
What game has a story you like?
>>
>>739175719
Unironically? I love video gabes, so I hate to see low effort shit be emphasized and recorded in history to be learned from for future developments. Thankfully the subgenre and a lot of bad habits popularized by Squaresoft seem to be dying out, along with them as a whole. 30 years too late, but oh well.
Indifference cheapens the love you feel. How can somebody love who does not also hate?
FUCK Final Faggotry, and especially VII in particular. It was the worst thing to disgrace video games and its franchise back in '97, and it has continued to plague the industry for decades after.
Thank Christ less than nobody bought Afterbirth. Can't wait for Squeenix to get absorbed by Sony and all of the creative leads fired. Shame Kingdom Hearts IV will never come out, I might have cared if I was mentally stunted.

Lmao. First chapter of Persona 5 has more text than all FF7.

VNs are not games. Moviegames are games despite being also movies.

Ok, go play the game without a guide. I guarantee you will get fucked up by several bosses. Everyone acts like everything is so easy these days because they just look up guides or YouTube videos and break the game. Back in the day, people actually played the game.

Any recs for moviegame RPG kino?
I've finished and liked:
FFIV through X
Chrono Trigger and Cross
Live A Live
Shadow Hearts 1/2 and FTNW
Xenogears, Xenosaga Episode I~III, Xenoblade 1~3 and X
Lost Odyssey
Clair Obscur
Fantasian
Hated: Any Bravely and Octopath game, cool battle mechanics but too much filler dialogue instead of cool cinematics, cutscenes and setpieces.
>>
>>739173594
you say this. and yet people got killed by a house, a snake, in a cavern, etc
>>
The game is easy up until the end when you find yourself woefully unprepared to fight Sephiroth. I had no problem getting through the entirety of it without any grinding and skipping a lot of battles, but the only way I was able to beat it was by following a guide to get a Golden Chocobo to get Knights of the Round.
>>
>>739180472
jrpgs ticks the same boxes moviegames do
sorry to hit you with such a profound realization out of nowhere
>>
>>739180530
Tales of the Abyss is cool
>>
>>739180619
Not exactly. JRPs, at least once upon a time, were novels built around complex battle systems. It didn't baby the gamer to just move the plot along, and you couldn't be a retard and play these games either. Again, it required reading comprehension; this was before everyone got their opinions via Youtube video essays.
>>
>>739181009
>complex battle systems
don't make me laugh, we're talking about ff7 here
>>
>>739180347
Nta but first time I had trouble with Materia Keeper, Demon Wall and the double headed dragon in Gaea's Cliff. Also without a guide you might be feel in lost when climbing to Shinra HQ with batteries and swinging pole, finding keystone and finding ancient key
>>
>>739181175
I thought the game was easy mode until Gi Nattak. Had to go and grind a bit to get past him.
