With more and more games being always online for no reason other than control and profit, culling the problem before it becomes a permanent fixture of the industry is the right move.

I never did. I never bought any dlc. Never bought any lootcrate.
The more money the greedy companes can siphon off retards the worse everything becomes for everyone as these practices start invading more and more places.
If this kind of pushback happened when xbox live was introduced you wouldn't be forced to pay sony etc for using your own internet today.
>>
>>739180361
Not my problem. The internet is a first rate public utility and should be treated as such. If you offer a device or service in retail, you should be required to support it for 20 years minimum. Simply as a matter of national security hygiene. Shitters can open source their AI slop and make it a subscription bonus on Patreon if they don't like it.
>>
>>739180585
a random protestor in the street is doing exactly the same as somebody changing his profile pic, actually

Most of the non-gacha live service games in the world is in the US. It's going nowhere. Stop making threads over a dead meme. It's not even clear how yurotards plan to enforce their retarded legislation over anyone other than Ubisoft.

>>

We're talking about the california bill here, retard. Also enforcing legislation is simple, if developers don't comply they don't get to sell their products in europe. Bigger players than the videogame industry have caved.

Not a fix, but a preventatitve measure. Imagine... If games like marathon couldn't exist without a viable plan to keep the game playable offline without their servers. Now these games will have two options, not exist, Or make it so a non fully online live service version is playable.

Even most "offline" games come with updaters and authentication nowadays and are at risk of having features disabled or altered in a way that you don't like.
His own channel has multiple videos on sharthome appliances that retroactively disabled functionality and locked said functionality behind additional subscriptions and ransoms, and the companies interested in buying up game assets aren't exactly different.

Norway does have hate speech laws. They are outlined in Section 185 of the Norwegian Penal Code, which makes it illegal to publicly or willfully make discriminatory or hateful statements.Key details of the legislation include:Protected Characteristics: It is prohibited to threaten, insult, or promote hatred, persecution, or contempt toward a person or group based on their skin color, national or ethnic origin, religion, life stance, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.Penalties: Violations can result in fines or up to 1 year in prison for private remarks, and up to 3 years in prison for public statements. Gross negligence is also punishable.Balance with Free Speech: Hate speech laws are an exception to Norway's constitutional protection of freedom of expression. Norwegian courts enforce these laws strictly to balance protecting minorities from harassment with maintaining broad free speech rights. For more official information regarding the regulations and anti-discrimination policies, you can visit the Norwegian Government's Hate Speech and Cyberhate portal.

There has been so much government regulation throughout history, and we’re not living under big brother.
The only that happened is that companies did those things less and try to get through loopholes are just do it illegally.
Why?
Because companies want you and your kids as slaves, care more about profits than keeping the customers and employees alive, and their greed is at such levels they will just break laws if it means more money.

Nah, there was plenty of cucked opinions about violence bad. Ultimately, it barely matters because the point was that there are very few instances in america where normal people actually managed to force a corporation to change an objectively bad for customers corporate decision without resorting to extreme measures, and even then, it almost never works.
Hell, even corporations that make enough shitty decisions to the point of bankruptcy when customers actually end up voting with their wallets are not allowed to fail if they are big enough. They just play musical chairs with a few higher ups, pretend they're gonna change and just end up doing the exact same stuff they did before with a few more pr moves boasting how much they've changed.

Not him but it does work. I have never played a single live service game, nor do I ever plan to.
>>
>exceptions for live service
No. Not acceptable. When you shut down the live service, you give all the resources necessary for players to self-host/update/maintain themselves. If you don't want to support the game anymore that's fine, but you give the players the ability to continue and do so of their own accord.

>They suffer, and I dont. Whats the problem?
The business keeps a steady income and makes profits, defeating the whole “vote with your wallet”.
>Companies are legally obligated to adhere to the whims of shareholders. Doing otherwise id a recipe for getting sued. The problem is the state.
Without the state, shareholders would “regulate” the system their own way.
>Every single monopoly exists because of state interference.
Which is why the Oil and Steel monopolies of the 1900s were against government regulations and Anti-Trust laws?
And speaking of, monopolies of today exist because the government isn’t doing anything with those anti-trust laws.

No one is falling for your bullshit anymore and you’re only serving to make your public hanging even more satisfying.

He hires lobbyists for right to repair, but Scientology relies on their scam E-meters as an income source, so one of the groups lobbying against right to repair are Scientologists and they're a torture/murder cult that are generally ignored due to government and media infiltration.

The problem is that it does work, you're just not the one voting with YOUR wallet.
Where do you think that the 2008 bailout money paid for with your tax dollars went? Fixing the economy? No that liquid capital went right back into more speculative investment that "could not possibly fail" (tm) and now Bank of America wants you to buy GTA6 for 80$ to forestall economic collapse.

>The business keeps a steady income and makes profits, defeating the whole “vote with your wallet”.
Ok so? People want live service games where they know the plug will be pulled eventually, I don't. It doesn't affect me, and in a world without IP laws I could make and host my own copy of the game if I really wanted to.
>Without the state, shareholders would “regulate” the system their own way.
Literally how? Companies have a metaphorical gun held to their head by the state to ensure they meet their shareholder's demands. You can't force somebody to meet an arbitrary quota against their will without coercion, which is done by the state.
>Which is why the Oil and Steel monopolies of the 1900s were against government regulations and Anti-Trust laws?
Every single corporation today lobbies the government for more regulations to eliminate the competition. 9 times out of 10, they lobby for more government, because its cheaper than providing consumers with products they actually want. And since the government let's them do it, why not do it? You acknowledge that the government is corrupt by letting itself get lobbied so easily, and your solution is to give the government more power.
>No one is falling for your bullshit anymore and you’re only serving to make your public hanging even more satisfying.

Yes, but the Supreme Court will not revisit the issue, because they've already given their verdict, which is to ignore the constitution and push for copyright that is even stronger in some regards than the EU copyright law they claim to want parity with.
Reminder that for copyright law to be valid, the basis has to respect the 1st and 14th amendments, it has to actually promote science/useful arts, it has to be for limited times and the rights must be attributed exclusively to the author/inventor, none of which is actually being considered.

They don’t. It’s a handful of whales and shareholders while a majority of people ignore it.
You live in an entire fantasy land. Your entire idiotology falls apart once you actually try applying it in reality.
Inversely, the only times your nightmare scenario of le 1984 has come close to happening in real life is because of unrestrained corporations.

>It shows mass support for a cause
Except when Louis told people why they should change their profile to Clippy, he also expected them to do even the bare minimum to make their life better. Instead just about everyone with a Clippy avatar didn't do jackshit, not even writing to their representatives about the identity verification BS, because they don't want to do anything, they just want to feel special.

Like every campaign like this, it devolved into worthless virtue signaling and practically no one who has a Clippy avatar is the type of person that Louis Rossmann would shake hands with.

Shills also haven't updated their scripts. You've had at least a year or so now.

>Actually voting with your wallet does work, I simply just don’t buy food with woodchips in them!
People who also support food regulations also don’t eat food with woodchips in them.
The difference is that “votin’ with your wallet!” forces you to avoid an evergrowing trend of food companies enshitifying food for profit. Sneaking shit in you don’t want or getting to the point where you can’t buy new food that doesn’t have glass shards, causes cancer, and tastes like shit.
Regulating food means you don’t have to worry about food being inedible. If you accidentally eat a rat at KFC, you can sue them and get millions from them.

So yeah, corpo regulation are strictly better for regular people and only harms corporations. Who would have thought?

>They don’t. It’s a handful of whales and shareholders while a majority of people ignore it.
How do you know? Its easy to understand that a multiplayer game isn't going to be played forever. And again, the whales investing in garbage do not affect me or my games.
>shareholders
I thought the point was about whales investing in these games? Shareholders don't invest in the individual games themselves but rather the companies. My previous point about shareholders having legal supremacy details this.
>You live in an entire fantasy land. Your entire idiotology falls apart once you actually try applying it in reality.
That's socialism.
>Inversely, the only times your nightmare scenario of le 1984 has come close to happening in real life is because of unrestrained corporations.
That's funny you say that, considering 1984 was based on the totalitarian dictatorships under socialism, specifically the USSR. Countries that had no corporations or businesses competing, but rather an all-seeing, centralized state that controlled every facet of the economy through force and coercion. You genuinely do not understand what you are talking about.
>You’re delusional and I’d recommend killing yourself.
You couldn't even argue against the other points of my post, and fail to understand the objective fact that the freer the market is, the more prosperous the civilization is.

>How do you know?
Because it happened before, multiple times, and with gaming itself.
That’s a fundemental difference between rational human beings and lolberts.
Rational humans use history and current events to justify regulations.
Lolberts have to make up fantasies like “just pull yourself up from the bootstraps and your boss will reward you” and “but if child labor is outlawed, it’ll be LITERALLY [fictional novel]”.
No one is falling for it any more.

You have no points. You live in a delusional fantasy land and your moral compass is dictated not by action but whether or not the government or corporation did it.
You’re only economically literate enough to understand something basic like Supply & Demand, but don’t have the foresight to see how someone with more capital than you can easily manipulate them in harmful ways.
Your solution to problems either requires total cordination of complete strangers that include shareholders that profit off suffering, or to spend every waking moment researching and inspecting everything you buy, when you can just have the government regulate it.
And you’re probably a pedophile and a Jeet. There is no sense in arguing with you since you won’t change your script and you’re the lowest form of life on the planet. The best everyone can do is clown on you and make fun of you at every turn.
