what's so good about Morrowind anyway?
>>
>>739189087
atmosphere
>>
>>739189087
the unique setting is pretty much all it has going for it. it is that good, but the rest isn't anything to write home about.
becoming a god wizard is also fun though.

Fantastic setting and atmosphere, unique take on the fantasy genre. Relatively good amount of freedom to go wherever and break it however.

The exploration is way above average.
The number of factoins and most faction quests (those not written by Todd lol) were also of high quality and the world is reactive enough to you rising the ranks and gaining fame. Even if it's "just" people aderssing you differently and starting with higher disposition, that's more than most RPGs of that size do.
The game also has very good roleplay potential. Thanks to its crunch and vastness you can make many different builds/character conecpts work that go way beyond fighter/wizard/thief.

Why am I not the Nerrevarine?
>>
>>739189087
Nothing. Zoomers just latched on to a mediocre adventure game because old = good and super duper hardcore in their minds. There's a reason you never see people talk about actually good RPGs from 25 years ago.
>>
>>739189643
Because you need to be born under a certain star sign to qualify and you were not since the stars are different in this world vs. Mundus

1.get a simple job in seyda need
2.save up close to 100 drakes to get a silt strider to Balmora -> Ald Ruhn -> Gnisis
3.join the legion
4.do chores/jobs and try to advance the ranks, learning physical skills and healing skills at the same time

thats it, safest approach and most profitable, in a universe when you can die any day from anything

alterantive route if dunmer only? redoran, no other house is advisable

It is a game unironically carried by vibes.
There is nothing else redeemable about it.

good luck I'm behind 4,000 fortify speed potions
>>
Just go buy alchemy ingredients and make them into potions, rinse and repeat until I'm obscenely rich. Except if it works, then the people are dumb npcs like in the game and I'm doomed to living in an empty world filled with puppets.
If it works like real life instead then I'm just fucking dead.

Getting isekai'd in to TES as a commoner would suck. The amenities of modern life means I'm not as hardy as the people of TES though so I'd probably end up dying from blight or wildlife or some shit before I can accrue any meaningful skills or wealth. The Oblivion Crisis and Red Year are going to happen in a few years so even if I do live that long, it just means more suffering as I would have to live through an apocalyptic event.

>>739191575
The guild would probably kick you out eventually if you aren't paying your dues or doing work for them.

Bully Fargoth.

It's mostly surpassed by modded Skyrim. However, it's still unsurpassed in:
>writing
>lore
>Quests
>Exploration
>lack of quest marker and compass making quest design good
In most other aspects. Skyrim shits on it after installing thousands of mods, including RPG mechanics.
>>
>>739188780
Are we talking Morrowind with mods or without mods? Beacuse if we are talking mods, I am beelining towards Balmora to woo Arvesa.

>The guild would probably kick you out eventually if you aren't paying your dues or doing work for them.
Luckily I know where all the valuables are in the world and how to sell them
>>
>>739189087
Good atmosphere, decently sized hand-designed world, RPG systems in full enough force that knowledge can trump both player skill and big natural numbers, so your strength is tied to how much you know the world and systems more than how long you've spent on this save file or how good you are at strafing and clicking on enemies, as Skyrim and Oblivion frequently boil down to.
>>
Need more information. How does this work?
For example, if I steal Galbedir's soul gems, is she just as oblivious as in the game or am I immidiately caught because that's common sense
>>
Do gameplay mechanics apply or is it now a "normal" world like in a novel? Are mechanics applied equally or am I subject to different rules like Log Horizon?

Even if I don't have CHIM, assuming I keep my real-world knowledge, there's just things I know, namely future events. I know the Ministry of Truth is going to fall and Black Marsh will invade. I know the Oblivion Crisis will occur and both Uriel and Martin will die after Dagon invades. I know the AD is going to invade the Empire in about 190 years and I know where loads and loads of people and artifacts are.
The real question is 'how do I get taken seriously' and I think it'd be by telling some people things that I could not possibly know. Vivec would probably be the most approachable but I'm not sure if I'd have to avoid directly stating what they did to Nerevar because he might just obliterate me. But since he's on the border of CHIM already, he might believe me when I say I've come from outside the dream and then tell him a whole shitload of things, many of which I can prove right now, and many which will occur in the future. I can't do anything about his waning power but if I can get some kind of recognition from him, I might be able to save a shitload of people.
Before that though, I'll need to go make some money. Easiest way is to take my Imperial pocket change, head to Balmora, make a few shit potions, sell them, hire a bodyguard from the FG for as cheap as I can get and go head to the ebony mine down the river. Ideally my bodyguard won't just kill me on the spot and take my idea, so I'll either pick a trustworthy looking one and promise him a good paycheck, or if they're all shifty, I'll risk it alone. Once I've got the location, take it to Dram, get my daedric axe and sell it for 50,000 drakes. Once I've got that, I can kick back a little and learn some magic to keep myself safe (I'm not going melee lol) focused on alteration, restoration and a bit of conjuration. By that point, I'll have settled down a bit and can get on with my prophecies to hopefully prevent the Red Year and Oblivion Crisis.

Pretty sure the balmora FG is the one run by a TG member so maybe look elsewhere. I think the guy in the basement that sends you to find the dwemer puzzle box can be trusted though

>>739188780
I'd go straight to that one monkey in Sadrith Mora and increase my IQ a thousand fold using alchemy

so i'd be born under stars that don't exist in that universe? wouldn't that make me even more special?
>>
>>739201047
Yeah, but without any sort of prophecy backing you, your "special" trait is mostly just going to be a curiosity to anyone who can actually see it. At best you impress some two-bit and get a bit of free pocket change, at worst you get dissected.

>got no pants on
I'd probably try my luck relying on some kind-hearted adventurer to get me a pair of pants that totally got stolen in exchange for me singing praises about him to everyone I meet.
After that, I'll be walking farm to farm looking for hick dunmer farmgirls who are progressive enough to tolerate advances from an "imperial", perhaps charm one of them enough to allow me to stay over at her family hut after I've told her my stories of my life as a "sailor" that visited distant lands across Tamriel but ended up crashing on the shores of Vvardenfell.
Now the only thing left is learning how to work the fields and how to avoid getting killed by her father and brothers that don't like my kind, especially around their precious girl.
