"You must fight Chaos!"So Jack gotted his sword and stroke down the wall."HE GOING TO KILL US," said Chaos!"I will cut him," said Chaos and he attacked with his sword. Jack parried him and tried to decapitated him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill."No! I must kill Chaos," he shouted!The radio said "No, Jack. You are Chaos."And then, Jack was Chaos.

It basically describes how those characters decided on a plan to weaken the power of the crystals and even manage a time loop across thousands of years.

They caused a time-loop in this world, where chaos rises, makes terrible monsters attack humans, and then gets destroyed by heroes bearing crystals. The heroes are actually invader operatives, that harvest chaotic energy through crystals to send back home. These operatives get their memory wiped with every loop, so they can go fresh on the next loop and forge, again and again, new relationships with the natives, in order for their heroism to feel more natural, and get implanted in their mind the will to fight chaos.Jack Garland, eventually, starts cracking out of his amnesia, and starts resenting his own people for their cruelty againt people he loved and cherished after forming relationships with them so many times from scratch. He gets especially mad when Astos, a native elf that keeps his memory from each loop, starts spiraling, forcing Jack to kill him. Seeing his friend die in his arms, knowing all of the sins he forgot, Jack decides to revolt, and destroy his own people. He eventually finds out he is unable to do it, so he locks himself into the time-loop again, this time as chaos itself, the knight Garland, who betrayed the king and became the villain in final fantasy 1, along with his 4 friends (that each become one of the 4 fiends), so one day the real 4 heroes of light (FFI's protags) will kill him and end the loop forever.I may have missed some details, but it's beautiful, and makes more sense if you play FFI.tl;dr: What if Madoka Magica was the prequel to FFI?
