I really wanna play these games but as I understand it, Warhammer 1 and 2's campaign/content is DLC for 3?

So should I just get that one or is 2 better or is there some shit I just wouldn't know?
>>
creamapi
you vill own everything and you vill be happy
>>
>>739202843
Well yeah but I mean, are the some quirks to the newest game that makes it worse? Is the gameplay better?

I know I wouldn't recommend people Civ 6 over 5 even if all the other civs were downloadable.
>>
>>739203118
The differences are a lot more minor than Civ games. 3 has the most content so that's what most people play today, and what I would suggest. You'll have to either buy the old games and dlc in order to use those factions/units in 3 or use creamapi to unlock everything.

Warhammer 3 is the complete experience with everything as patched and updated as it can be. There are tons of quality of life changes in 3. Empire in 3 feels like a different faction compared to Empire in 1.
If you own warhammer 1 or 2, you can download warhammer 3 for the immortal empires campaign (Basically the whole warhammer world minus some less relevant places)
You can only play races/legendary lords you own though. So if you only have base warhammer 2 you can play High elves/Dark elves/Lizardmen/Skaven in Immortal empires. And of those factions only the base lords + free lords. If you want to play say, Ikit Claw. In Immortal empires, you got to buy his DLC.

All in all you can start with whatever game you want, buy the game that has your faction in it, play it in Immortal empires in 3, and go from there to see what factions/lords appeal to you.
>>
>>739203118
Just buy TWW3 and use Creamapi. I really can't imagine playing without some of the changes they've made through patches and updates.
>>
>>739202418
3 is the most complete one but it's also currently ground zero for a bunch of terrible fucking bugs that CA can't or won't fix. So do 3 just because it has the most shit to fight, but know that there's still bullshit in the game such as enemies idling outside their settlements for no discernible reason in giant blobs.
>>
>>739202418
3 has the most content.
2 is currently the better game.
Either is a good choice.

1 is mostly irrelevant besides effectively being DLC to 2 and 3.
>>
>>739205558
>2 is currently the better game.
Nuh
>>
>>739205735
2 finished in a better balance and bug state than 3 has ever reached, presumably that's what he meant. Fucking CA and their complete and utter lack of version updating. 3 was an old and broken version of 2 that never got fixed.
>>
>>739206825
2 is when most melee units were still trash tier in higher difficulties. You either stacked archers or excepted you're using an inferior army. It makes 2 harder but way more rigid in what kind armies you can build if you're playing legendary.
Obviously on normal difficulty none of this matters.
>>
>>739206983
Gotta agree. It's nice that TWWH3 actually made melee units worth using.
>>
>>739207274
All 3 did was halve the melee stat bonuses in very hard difficulty, but they’re still there, it’s identical to playing 2 on hard difficulty.
>>
>>739202418
Warhammer 3 has reworked fucking all of the races present in 1 and 2 that it’s become legitimate to play 2 first for hundreds of hours seeing all the lords because then when you go to 3 it will all be brand spanking new to you because fucking none of them will play the same or even similar to how they do in 2.
You can legit put thousands of hours in Warhammer 2 before moving onto 3 and just getting something entirely new to put another couple thousands of hours into.

when does it come out?
>>
>>739209695
Two to three more months. They had to release a new powercreep patch for Cathay first.
>>
>>739203118
Yes, it's worth playing Warhammer 1/2 factions in Warhammer 3 just because those factions, especially Warhammer 1 factions, have all been updated in pretty spectacular fashion compared with their original debuts. Beastmen, Warriors of Chaos, and Wood Elves were all pretty bad in Warhammer 1 and now they all play completely differently, in a good way. But even factions that were pretty solid in WH1 like Empire and Dwarves had a lot of nice new additions. To give a concrete example, Empire used to only really have "Imperial Offices", where army leaders could be placed into them for special bonuses if they were at a certain minimum level. Now, Empire Factions have an entire Imperial Authority/Prestige system that reflects the fluff of Karl Franz's Empire being a complete nightmare to manage. This has happened to essentially every faction at this point, so going back to older games would mean going back to a worse faction experience.

The only real exception I can think of is that the campaign maps from Warhammer 2's main scenario gave the WH2 factions a lot more breathing room compared to the big combined map in 3 (Which itself was made from adding the new factions to 1+2's combined map from WH2). But IMO the new mechanics and faction upgrades are well worth the tradeoff.
>>
>>739209770
I remember when they leaked the Cathay power creep DLC plans through their most hated YouTuber and when it blew in their faces they paused it and took a year to make a DLC people actually wanted instead.
Now said YouTuber detractor is gone and all that’s left is people deeply in CA’s pocket and oh look it’s that Cathay wank again everybody hated except people are now all soooooo very positive about it and with no community outrage at all!
>>
Lustriabowl > Badlandsbowl >>>> whatever shit TWW 3 has.
>>
>>739202418
I don’t know if the offer was permanent but if you own TWW 1 or 2 you get access to a free version of TWW 3 with just the tutorial campaign and immortal empires, though you can only play factions you have access to in IE
Honestly 3’s main campaign kinda sucked.
>>
>>739210330
The entire world ix an X-bowl at this point. Everyone that isn't an Elf is surrounded by people they hate and who hate them back. Even some of the elves are deep in enemy territory now.

Lustria and badlands are inarguably more difficult, like skarbrand in badlands, and 2-3 more factions needed to be squeezed into Lustria.
>>

The Mountains of Mournbowl are the best, nothing but pure melee fucks bashing each others heads in. You got green guys, smaller green guys, fat guys, undead guys, rotting guys, chaos guys, chaos shorts, and now tiger guys.
>>
>>739202418
Get the steam key for TW3 and then when prices goes down for TW1&TW2 and DLC goes down during sales. Get the ones you find to be the most unique. (yeah dont pay full price for that shit)
Besides that I recently got all achievements on it few weeks ago after playing almost a whole year. And I enjoyed the game considering it's my first time ever playing a game like this (im a normie from hell)

Start off with Khorne and Cathay . Noob friendly factions. and the best 2 advices I can give to a fellow noob are these.
1. NEVER PLAY ON EASY/NORMAL BATTLE DIFFICULTY. That shit just fucks up your campaign considering they're both focused on ensuring the player is having it easier in their battles/auto resolves. You absolutely need to learn how to deal with bullshit thrown at you if you plan to go to multiplayer. Even if you plan on playing it single player only, your army strength is literally 2-3x the enemies.

2. Learn hotkeys. That shit makes your battles so much smoother and more efficient being able to move the units and react to bullshit. I didnt start taking that shit serious until I was half way done with the races. After that, my last few campaigns I needed to get all achievements made me feel like i was a Total war fucking beast. Being able to learn how to pub stomp Legendary AI when you're in dog shit situations makes you feel like you grew on the game.

Now I play multiplayer and being able to compete with people on it as a complete noob feels really good.
>>
>>739202843
tech illiterate zoomer here
can steam ban me for using this?
>>
>>739202418
The three are basically just expansion packs of each other because the game has so much content you can't fit them all in a single game. The 1, 2 and 3 is misnomer since they are technically the same game in the same vein of dawn of war dark crusade vs soulstorm or warcraft 3 reign of chaos vs frozen throne.

>people are now all soooooo very positive about it and with no community outrage at all!
I did see one big YTer annoyed at CA for yet again plugging roster holes, and another for just how overtuned the Tiger Elite Halberds were in MP. Her campaign being OP as fuck seems like another consistent topic across all channels, though with SP players it's hard to tell if that's really even a complaint for them (unless your name is The Changeling for some reason)

One thing I did like is Bashiva herself working very well as a anti-blob melee blender due to her animations, despite being a foot lord - I think they should give that attribute to other grounded martial characters like Queek, Grimgor, Wulfrik, Malus, Aranessa (who used to be like this), Vlad, etc.

Right now it feels like the only way to kill hordes as a melee lord is to abuse charging mass or to have some sort of gay not!magic like the Sword of Khaine or a Mortis Engine effect.
>>
>>739212025
>1. NEVER PLAY ON EASY/NORMAL BATTLE DIFFICULTY.
I want to repeat what this anon posted because it’s really fucking important. Ideally you should always play on Very Hard battles and put the AI cheats slider to neutral so they don’t actually get any advantages.
All that lowering the battle difficulty does is MASSIVELY skew the autoresolve in the player’s favor, which makes you never ever fight battles manually and thus you’ll miss out on half the game and the fun of making armies and seeing them and your tactics in action.
>b-but I will suck!
Nigger we ALL sucked, it’s unavoidable but it’s also why easier races in the battlefield exist.
A tip here is that if you select a single melee unit and hold down spacebar, the game will show symbols on top of every enemy unit that will show if it considers it a good melee matchup or not, use this a lot before you have memorized every unit in the game and their roles. Be aware that this can also be deceiving as line holder units aren’t meant to beat anything in melee by themselves, so once your tactics evolve beyond pile of violence levels, start thinking about greater tactics over individual matchups.
>>
>>739212937
Cathay has been the go to "Has literally everything, always" faction. They get dwarf infantry, but also decent cavalry, but also a flying core that outdoes most other factions, but also good artillery, but also the strongest casters in the game. It's retarded. They have no weak points.
>>
>>739202418
Just buy the base game that comes with WH 1,2, and 3. Then download CreamAPI installer and and the DLC files from CSRINRU and get all of the DLC for free.

Only the biggest giga-goyim unironically buy CA and Paradox DLC.
>>
>>739212213
>can steam ban me for using this?
Yes, but I don't know of any cases of it happening.

Always use throwaway steam accounts if you're using creamAPI and never invest heavily in any one account.

Odds are they will sooner or later do a massive ban wave as it's very easy for Valve to track who has used creamAPI and what they've stolen etc
>>
>>739202418
Buy 3, it gives you the whole map, and then buy the faction dlc you want to play, some factions are not dlc, but part of warhammer 1 (can play the emperor) or warhammer 2 (csn play theelven kings)
You only need 3 to play, its your faction of choixe that may require a second perchase
>>
>>739202418
Just buy the Warhammer that has the faction you want to play and you get the big campaign for 3 for free.

In my case I only own Warhammer 1 and I got 3 for free, so I can just play Warhammer 1 factions in 3.
>>
>>739203118
Yes but Overhaul mods like SFO, Radious, Mixu, IEE, TOW, etc, make it better in every way.
>>
>>739213502
Yeah well, now they have killy Norscan light infantry and Chosen (Halberds) too
>>
>>739213759
Did you see the retarded shit they're giving Toddbringer? Literally chosen with a -leadership aura that stacks with fear. Now Empire has worldbeating infantry! Good!
>>
So while 3 is the latest and most patched, you'll be left with an empty product because chaos demons are half baked.

1 provides you with the humans, dwarfs and orks, which are great, 2 provides you with ELVES which are such a complete package that I would recommend this as your first purchase.
Humans are not your default faction, humans are the end game, they're the most mechanically complex, and their campaign is unbelievably harder than anyone elses, it's dante must die mode.
On Ulthuan you're given the perfect beginner faction, the perfect scenario on how to understand the game, the elves want to take over the world and want to help you. Humans want to stab you in the back rather than team up even when faced with total annihilation from a doomsday scenario.

The game is honestly a massive buffet of ideas and it's hard to figure out what to recommend therefore Pirate the complete edition on fitgirl, then buy what you want slowly to support the devs
>>
How do I play Vampire Counts?
>>
>>739202418
I want to love the series but I think I'm just too much of a brainlet. I like the setting and the armies and watching the little morons do animations
but I hate campaigns, I have 1 and 2 and I think I played 1 campaign to completion and it was fucking Lizardmen
and I can't wrap my head around combat because everything feels slow and I can't tell if anything I'm doing is effective or good
If I could at least 'get' the combat then multiplayer might be fun

>radious
There have been numerous undisputable masterpieces in total war modding, such as the strikingly realistic classic Europa Barbarorum or its medieval counterpart Stainless Steel. Radious mod will not join their ranks; its surface is too generic, its presentation too provocative and its messages too obscure. Its take on the abysmal is an illumination in one person’s despair, but a paroxysm of another’s perversion. It will remain underground – treasured by the most avant-garde among intellectuals for its edifying if horrifying insight into the fundaments of human morality. Philistines and self-proclaimed critics alike will shun Radious mod, but you can’t fault them for that. It takes wisdom to appreciate its subtleties, and courage to side with the unpopular opinion. Sed domi maneas paresque nobis novem continuas fututiones.

Superficially, Radious mod appears to be a mod which caters to the most proletarian among men; aloof critics dismiss it as such often without a second thought. As complacent as these self-proclaimed "understanders of strategy" are, they fail to realize that Radious mod is a cult classic, a chef d'oeuvrea buried under false preconceptions and unfounded criticism. This gem is hidden because it does not shine; it is buried because its tone is that of abyssal black. Radious mod pries into to the darkest corners of our subconscious, the most visceral of our cognition, the most carnal of our urges, and the most primal of our instincts.

As brilliantly put by Cattalus, "Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo"; to describe the artistic qualia of Radious mod would be to describe music to the deaf, color to the blind or beauty to the philistine. The painting speaks for itself, and it is up to the player to fully absorb its depth. Its sublimity will ever be debated yet always remain objectively irrefutable; the fundamental insight it provides into human and perhaps animalistic nature may shape the basis of Total War modding for centuries to come.

For counts, characters are king.
Your Lords and Heroes will be winning 90% of your battles before Tier 4.
Skeletons don't really win, they occupy enemies.
You have dogs, bats, and black knights to shut down enemy ranged to keep the rest of your army alive, use your lords and heroes to kill the units they have that will actually win, and then grind the remainder to death with regenerating mobs of skeletons that don't stay dead.
Threading a unit or two of Crypt Ghouls into your skeletons to inflict poison is also handy.
You need to be cognizant of things that actually threaten your characters, or that will kill your skeletons so fast they inflict army losses, and deal with those safely. Whether that means using dogs to eat that catapult, feeding Grimgor two units of skeletons so he can't kill your vampires.
Once you get more established, you can start leveraging Terrorgeists and Vargulfs to basically be extra characters, but be careful of them.

Be cautious of spending your money on units as counts.
Three armies of Vampire Lords and maybe ten skeletons between them is stronger than one army of a vampire lord and 20 skeletons. Some skeletons/zombies are always useful, but bear in mind they aren't winning battles. Your vampires are.

Strigoi are generally worse than regular Vampire Lords, but are stronger as naked, level 1 combatants, and are better as blenders. Adding one to a mob of Vampire lords is a good idea if only for poison as well.
Don't neglect your bloodlines. Lahmia is probably the best one early, since it creates more forgiving diplomatic scenarios, and Lahmian vampires are vetter at getting more kisses. Get Queen Bee ASAP.

Katarin or Khalida still have my favorite campaigns. Lotta stuff can go wrong in those first turns.

They have death magic, demigryphs, tanks, I think the morr cavalry have it, the Elector Count swordsmen, every single unit Elspeth adds, apparently.

Khalida is probably the hardest campaign in the game, besides Daniel who is hard for stupid reasons.

>>
>>739217714
Try Azhag sometime. The only campaign I simply cannot figure out how to beat. You are surrounded by underway heavy armored factions that hate you and Orc infantry is still just kind of shit. >>

Settra didn't hear no bell
>>
>>739217224
Death magic sure, but the rest of those are limited use or T4 units, well past the point where fear makes a big difference. It'd be a different story if Empire was going to get a character with Nurgle's Stench or something to REALLY stack leadership penalties, otherwise the Fear/Crush combo is going to be very limited in scope (spending WoM or only near a RoR)

I dunno, I like complaining as much as anyone but I think I'm going to wait until the unit card actually comes out before I start calling them "worldbeaters"

>>739217714
>You NEED to play diplomacy well because you can't survive getting assraped by both Kroq Gar and Queek with your shitty Tomb King early game.
You absolutely can, the real issue is Skarbrand that will solo your 2-3 entire armies and no amount of skelly boys with pointy sticks can do anything about it.

Azhag is easy because magic dmg on orcs fucks.
>>
>>739217829
I recall I did him by just immediately going for vlad.
Greenskins chew through skeletons, Azhag can spirit leech vampires to death, and that gives you a good foothold to build up to better units on your other fronts.

There is little point to playing the smaller narrative campaigns. They are neat to try, if you know absolutely nothing about the OG Warhammer world, but gameplaywise everything and everyone is focused on Immortal Empires on TWW3, the sandbox map.
TWW3 has Denuvo (it got cracked) but pirating it is a bitch because it updates constantly. I suggest you buy 1 or 2 (they're cheap) and you'll automatically be given a copy of TWW3 on Steam, but with limited content. Then you creamapi TWW3 and you're set. Play its narrative campaign a bit, then Immortal Empires, try some mods, if you like it go back and download 1 and 2 to try their campaigns too.

Yeah
The empire in general is very hostile to new players.
The Empire's front line is shit, low tier is shit, and characters are shit. You need to understand the way different units work together to have a chance, and a new player is, nowadays, more than likely going to fight like four battles, then get anally gaped by Vlad with no idea how to kill him. The trappings of the fealty system also trick a new player into wasting their early turns doing fuckall, because they want to be friends with the rest of the empire.

Franz isn't that hard of a campaign, but both the empire, and his mechanics specifically, demand a certain level of system knowledge and proficiency that's unreasonable to new players.

High Elves are probably the best beginner faction, along with maybe Lizardmen.
High Elves start safe on donut Atlantis, your basic units actually function enough to coast through battles, and buy you the time and space to learn how things actually work.
Lizardmen, Saurus rip and tear their way through even the most ignorant player's fumbling, while giving you characters, skinks, and monsters to micro and learn how different things work. Lizardmen might teach some bad habits though, since they don't really have conventional ranged units

Honestly this.
Sayl turned out way better than I expected, and is even pretty enjoyable as a campaign, but Norsca really has no reason to exist as a faction. It would be like having Goblins as a standalone faction. Yeah, there's technically some differences with their parent faction, but that's the sort of thing you explore with a specific lord's campaign, not an entire faction.
As it stands, Norsca has just stolen some of the weird chaos gribblies from WoC, which mostly fucks over Trogg and more monster-mash style Chaos armies, since their monsters have been divided between several armies, and does nothing by itself to make it stand out from WoC in a good way. It really should just be like goblins, in that some of the NPC WoC factions exclusively use Norsca themed units.

As an aside
I've been poking at some of the mods
Guns of the Empire is fukkin great, graduating the Empire to a full napoleonic wars army is so fukkin cool.

TWWH is more of a roleplay engine than it is a game because the AI is so bad both on the battlefield and on the campaign map that it's either non-functionally retarded or demands autistic AI exploitation to handle. You're basically playing the game while pretending that it's a functional game.
90% of campaign mechanics are useless dogshit flavor that the AI doesn't interact with
Every campaign past turn 50 consists of doomstacking whichever unit your LL buffs with a replenishment hero to support so you can steamroll an entire province every other turn
Mixed (aka varied interesting and strategically 'good') armies are actively fucking terrible
Diplomacy is pointless unless it's AI exploitation to farm money from them
Wars are pointless unless you immediately exterminate the entire faction because if you don't (or you try to do a skirmish war) they will just print cheatstacks until you lose
Retarded LL scaling makes LLs that can literally solo entire armies and you will often be required to do this, or you'll want to blow your brains out because you need to kite the army-soloing AI LLs for 20 minutes at a time every 4 turns (Grimgor, Ungrim)

What's funny is that the huge variety of gameplay styles and strategies comes to life in a big way in the multiplayer scene, but MP is impossible to get into as a shitter because campaign is so bad it doesn't prepare you for it at all and it has no MMR. This also doesn't solve the problem of campaign mechanics not mattering.
I want to love this game so fucking bad. There's so much content, it's so cool seeing all these units and factions in these huge battles. It's just so badly put together into a strategy game that you have to just FORCE yourself through every turn after 30 which is where you should feel the MOST engaged.
>>
>>739219973
could have been really cool but ended up being TOW flanderized slop
>>
>>739227963
Yeah
I find that customize starting army, and something to change your starting position are borderline necessary to really enjoy the game.
Tiers 4 and 5 basically don't exist, you've already won at that point if you get there, so adding different late game units to early game armies is basically the only way to experience them, and relocating is the only way to fight different things with that faction while it's fun.
>>
maybe it's a tad unpopular, but how fucking many skulls do you need to add to a character nowadays to try to make it look cool?
what the fuck is this trash, is this the american equivalent to that kingdom hearts designer tard? just with skulls instead of belts?
>>
>>739212213
Yes because you're too dumb to use it so don't. Also never speak of it because you're too dumb to do that too.
>>739202843
stop telling newfaggot retards about this, they're going to fuck it up for everyone.
>>
>>739203118
The only reason I played it over 2 was because the movement bug allowed me to confederate everyone in the skaven. If it wasn't for that bug, I'd still be playing 2 where it's actually possible to confederate your faction without bugs or mods. The sieges are better in 2, or at least were the last time I played around the shadows of change DLC.
Overall gameplay is better in 2 but 3 has more factions and bugs that let you cheat.

One of the Warhammer's taglines is "Skulls for the Skull Throne" and you are surprised GW is fixated on skulls.
Also, GW and CA are British.
>>
>>739228457
warhammer is british
>>
>>739228593
>it's in the name so it's ok
no, it's still retarded bro, need to cool it off, the reason I never got into warhammer was because of how all the marines always looked like shitty toys, reminded me of GI joes, and now that they're fixing that, they instead do this shit

it's retarded, sorry

Hi /v/, I need help deciding where to put Bhashiva in the TOW campaign. Any ideas?
>>
Has the cat lady (?) been released already?
>>
speaking of mods, I wish poljanan would come back and update the jade blooded vampires mod.
>>
1: most soul
2: most balanced (apart from the last few lords)
3: most shit to do and QoL

In the end 3 wins out. Dlc are not essential, but please pirate them if you really want them.
>>
>>739228830
>Allied with Zhao Ming
>The Iron Dragon and his stalwart tiger allies begin a two-prong campaign into the treacherous and prosperous Old World. Zhao braves the mountains of the north while trusting Bhashiva to cross the Darklands.
aka replace the burning wind nomads on the SE corner of the map
>>
Have they finally added intros to all the IE factions?
The new factions have cool animated intros, the old ones from TW1 have fuck all. Make up your mind CA.
>>
>>739228457
To be fair, that character is literally called “Skulltaker”
>>
>>739202418
Haven’t played this since the tamurkhan dlc which was pretty good imo. Did they update the undead factions (especially vampire counts) on the same level they updated the empire/dwarfs?
>>
game got so much better since faggotoftotalbore killed his channel
>>
>>739220880
>paradox has been annoyed about this for a long time
kek i wonder if the recent problems with the patch was in part due to their trying to deal with creamapi
the older versions of creaminstaller were unusable without tweaking the .ini manually because it'd crash on startup
>>
>>739229306
They announced Nagash (and Neferata) which will most likely come with an update to all undead factions

Whelp, time to start my #820582 dwarf campaign.

I only play High Elves and Dwarfs.
I only buy High Elves and Dwarfs DLC.
>>
>>739229425
I dunno any qrd, I wasn't paying much attention but I think he just got tired of how trash CA is and probably bored of the game. He was always a pissy bitch any time he streamed so I can only assume he wasn't having fun.
>>
>>739229359
how did it get better?
>>
>>739230417
People now actually had to play the game instead of sending it to legend every time they encountered an inconvenience

No and they never will. TW1 factions didn't have intros in TW2 and TW2 ones don't have in TW3.

Bros sell me on your favourite DLC.

I have all three games but struggle to pick one to buy when they go on sale. Train Dwarves seem fun
>>
>>739234803
All Skaven DLCs. Original lords suck but DLC lords are still some of the most entertaining characters in the game
Also just use creamapi
>>
>>739217829
what will happen to azhag in the end times dlc? in GW canon Azhag was dead by the time ET occurs, but in TWW3 hes around with Nagash's skullcap and soul on and in his head
>>
>>739212960
Don't listen to this retard. Just don't play on Easy battle difficulty. A lot of players play on Legendary campaign difficulty, or VH, and normal battle difficulty. Anything above Hard adds retarded damage and armor scaling that makes your elite soldiers not be able to go toe-to-toe with their basic ones
>>
>>739233838
>he claims with a straight face
>>
>>739234803
Chaos Dwarfes is the best faction that has come out of TW3. Superior in every way to all that chink shilling we have to endure these days.
>>
>>739234803
The GolgFAG Maneater was pretty fun, if you like ogres, and if the mercenary mechanic interests you. It's very fun in coop.
>>
>>739235114
hard/very hard doesn't affect modifiers at all, there's a separate slider to give the AI 10% stat boosts but they're barely noticeable, you can still run melee focused armies easily. but yeah make sure to call him a retard when you're completely wrong, fucking cumguzzler
>>
In theory there's a crapload of content, but even in Warhammer's varied faction design, every campaign turns to almost the same a little past midgame, so spending a lot of money with all these pesky dlcs is a waste of your wallet.
Get base game, check 1 or 2 LLs or factions you might get interested and get them. If you're not bored to death and uninstall it after 3 campaigns, you can consider purchasing more stuff.
>>
>>739234803
twwh2's tomb kings was the most balanced and flavorful dlc
they've been powercrept and some start in game 3 are brutal

for me its the Deithland mods, because I enjoy roleplaying that the empire is going through an industrial revolution eschewing magic in favor of bigger and better guns and steampunk mech suits
>>
>>739234803
The race packs, obviously. After that I’d say some combination of
>Thrones of Decay
>Tides of Torment
>The Warden & The Paunch
>The Prophet & The Warlock
>Champions of Chaos
