I've discovered that Spacer tanks are considered Agravs by the game's systems, which is what lets them roll sideways. Unfortunately, this ability is locked to the game's "Follow Mouse" setting in the control configurations, so if you turn it off, the rounder becomes a regular tank.

There's neat stuff, like Cycloludites, like Oscar Allard,
>If we are the daylight citizens of our spaceborne cities, then surely the cyclolucidites are the denizens of the eternal night that is our birthright and home. Allard was originally one of us - a veteran of many wars, he is still remembered for his glorious victories free from the taint of planetary soil. It is written that he wept after his last victory, for there were no more armies who could challenge him. Not long after, he resculpted his sense organs and joined the cyclolucidites, finding a new purpose in the maelstrom of forces that guide our way between stars. Although most cyclolucidites prefer to sleep away our many orbits, Allard (like all cyclolucidites) has no biological need for sleep, and seems to enjoy using his vast experience to butcher his opponents. I love and fear him, and soon Solo Nobre will quake with the reports of his weaponry.

Now that tac rigs are a mechanic I need them to follow through by giving us MT Foxtrot's rig. I dunno what it would do though, let you cannibalize bodies for 1hp? Grappendix is my unreasonable hope.

It's on Itch, might be up on Steam today. You can paste your Itch files over your Steam ones and it works fine as well.

I played the first game on release, for the aesthetics. It was pretty cool, I just never wanted to play most of the vehicles on the free maps except for the Arlo and a couple other antigravs. I couldn't get very deep into a run with Arlo so I stopped eventually.

Glad the change to vehicle looting is being made. I was sort of sick of the van being the best 'do everything' ride since it just saved so much time grabbing shit off the ground.

Also holy fuck the accuracy on the APC's turret is minute of barn. No wonder they just staple .22 street sweepers to them and call it a day.

How do I farm armour parts? Kinda need it for my panel vans
>>
>>739213012
Grab a sprat van from chop shop and just load it up with every single small crate you find on the first floor of sinkhole, it can carry like 6 small crates, a bunch of those will have armor panels in them, and each crate itself can be salvaged for two armor parts.
>>
>>739213012
You can salvage crates to get them in the same way you salvage vehices.
>>
>>739213012
Go loot police cars. Watersheed got an weasy cop car right next to the exist or salvage crates.
>>
>>739204475
I'm looking forward to crazier missions. Right now the second I get to the Party Van, the game is over, anything after that is just stacking ontop of the pure domination I already have since nothing can touch me and I can carry and grab whatever I want.
Also less open ended missions, more one like the campaign one where it's very focused.
Don't get me wrong, the open ended nature of the garage is fun, but I want both. Can't wait to analyze a mission myself and realize that bringing an IED van is in fact a good choice.
>>
>>739211665
Eh I think you could have reworked the inventory a bit while still keeping loaders more useful for looting, this seems more like a bandaid than a full on fix but we'll see

I think loaders are still the only thing that can mount large crates, so there's that. The van is still going to be king money mobile, you're just not going to require a forklift attachment to halve the time it takes you to dig the ammo out of Sinkhole anymore.

Though honestly I think you could make the case for generically nerfing the Non-party vans. The upgunned van is just as robust as an uparmored APC, handles just slightly worse (but I think is also faster), and can actually hit things at further than softball distances. Unless you're grinding your face into a swarm of infantry then there's just nothing better until you get something with shields.
>>
>>739216117
The party van can mount large crates and isn't a loader

>>739216221
Then I guess there's a case to be made for nerfing every van.
>>
Is this game more in-depth than the first Brigador?
That game is a lot of fun, but it’s a bit too simplistic. Once I figured out how to handle the AI, there wasn’t much left to do. I felt like it lacked the need to come up with more complex strategies.
>>
>>739216518
It's got more depth in terms of mechanics at play but the ai is still pretty simple. Maybe they'll improve it down the line but right now it's not much. Also the demo becomes a cakewalk by the end but that's due to the limited selection of enemies available right now, and there's obviously going to be a bunch more in the full game.
>>
>>739216293
Nah, there just isn't enough combat threat right now to justify to combat focused rigs and that's just an enemy / mission issue.
Need more missions where the enemy is scary enough or the objective is not about looting and/or both so that taking pure combat mechs is sensible.

>>739216518
I mean, there is a free demo. This sequel is more down in the weeds with infantry combat and looting and scooting and such, so it's definitely a different feel even if you can see all the systems at play. AI is still simple.

>>
>>739216741
The fact that we have to supply our own weapons, ammo, and vehicles that persist between missions means that looting is always going to be top priority, and setups that can loot as well as fight are going to be much better in general than setups that can only fight. This only gets worse as enemies get harder. Harder enemies means enemies with better tech, and enemies with better tech means there's things worth looting.

I literally z-press DOVE out of Posadochny with bullets chewing the road all around me.
I really love the Loyalist tac rig. It's the perfect combination of tacticool and cheap fisher price space crap that makes this setting great.
>>
>>739218548
Kind of but it's not so clear cut. Gear and Cash are not tied purely to enemies, since a huge bulk of the valuable weapons, ammo, credits you get right now is actually in the crates, not on the enemies.
And for example, that one mission where you clear the cops, well the valuable loot is just the cash, which you need no space for so pure combat rigs are the best choice. The tank or walker is the best because it has the most firepower and speed along with its durability, a van brings nothing better to the table

There are more variables for this, and also just turning up the heat till bringing transport tier vehicles is really risky is a good thing, since now it's a risk vs. reward scenario.
Turning up enemy numbers with average to just decent gear also easily achieves this effect. You can't actually loot enemies in higher hp rigs / more functionallity, and even just having them equipped with decent firearms and anti-tank is a large boost in difficulty without actually giving the player new tools to work with. A full team of more elite mooks with 7.62 assault rifles, law rockets, and some better aim, is a huge leap in threat, but doesn't actually give me anything extra I didn't already have.

They should also play with the AI slightly for tougher more elite units. Less likely to be suppressed for example. That's something easy they can do. And of course the map designs and reinforcements / event triggers.
Also once you have one vehicle the player wants to salvage in a mission, adding more literally changes nothing. So having 5 tanks and having one tanks is exactly the same, unless they purposefully add garages to encourage salvaging, but difficulty wise, it's way harder.
>>
>>739218927
Considering how stupid enemy AI is, I really don't want the frustration of having to manage friendly AI in important roles.

Two questions: What the fuck is the Breaker's Wheel for? I snuck on an APC with it and it didn't do anything.

Two: does the Rolston 10x the magazine on the equipped weapons or something? Why my Tilo have 270 rounds in it?
>>
>>739221301
It ought to be considered a small vehicle, like the Mog. The thing is great at hit and hits against infantry, but has zero versatility the way the other suits do.
>>
>>739221301
I'd love a Space version of this idea, with ball-treads and reaction control boosters so it could dash in omnidirectional bursts.

>What the fuck is the Breaker's Wheel for?
Despite using 7.62, it's based off of a breaching tool apparently. So probably for shattering terrain? Might not be finished
>does the Rolston 10x the magazine on the equipped weapons or something?
Some vehicles/powersuits increase the magazine size for some weapons. Say you mount a Bonesaw on a Mongoose, you get 100 rounds for it instead of 50 when using it on foot.

I'm a bit confused by the layout of the missions in the sequel. In Brigador, you had a clear gameplay difference between Campaign (choice of up four classes with fixed loadouts on single distrcts) and Freelance mode (sandbox of whatever you can afford). Whereas in Brigador Killers you have both Obstacle 1 and the Garage in 'Campaign'; does that mean there also be a Freelance-like mode or is Garage the new Freelance?

Now that I think about it, it's probably supposed to be one of those weapons that eats a huge amount of ammo per shot. The weird part is that it uses a plentiful lightweight ammo, but if it ate like 50 or something per shot, that would make sense. There are other weapons that eat more ammo per shot.

This is why I stopped snoopingas around with the dev mode. As much as I want to play more, I'm already considering dropping the game so I don't "blow my load" with the game while it's still in the demo like I did with M&B Bannerlord.

The dialogue test room is where the big stuff is, I didnt check many convos, stopped after:

The good news is I think the missions in the future campaign will be more in depth and narratively driven than whats in the demo, theres far more going on under the hood

>Once I figured out how to handle the AI, there wasn’t much left to do. I felt like it lacked the need to come up with more complex strategies
I felt the same way initially and I agree the AI is very primitive. To squeeze some difficulty out of the game, I think Freelance mode requires deliberately choosing weaker vehicles and weirder weapons as a way to up the ante once you're feeling comfortable wrecking the AI. Plus some of the Campaign options offer serious challenges, like Pinho on a troubador against Leviathans, that one Joy Ride mission with a Fork and no ammo, and Leng's Mog with nothing more than a Carlos and MG against the world.

maybe. this guy could be pretty interesting story-wise, if the snc hasn't already zapped him from existence

I can't figure out what would make Singh turn away from the regime. Everyone who has served with him seems to like him. The usual justifications don't scan. Model military man. No family trouble. Not many Sikhs emigrated to Novo Solo, though most are in Eixo now. Great Leader's conscription policies have been as open minded as you get (ask the paraplegics in service), so I don't think there's an angle there. Is it possible that even with the government in shambles, Great Leader still has double agents in place for an eventuality like this? Keep an eye out, especially when you exfiltrate him.

>A striking woman stood before him, tall and strong like something from a fantasy vid. He half expected her to be brandishing a sword, such was the imposing nature of her physique. She pulled her yellow hood back to reveal dark skin and piercing eyes, seemingly at odds wit the warm smile that spread across her features.
>Mirante was a career soldier, a few years older than Kinny and Bader, and she had a classic Mog driver's physique. She was tall, but lean and well muscled from years of sitting in a hot cockpit, dealing with the constant exertion of willing the damn things to do what they were told.

We did catch them unaware, plus they're mech/tank pilots, not super soldiers, without their vehicle they're nothing and i don't think the SNC would let them keep their machine, unless you're a spacer
> Were they not expecting a bunch of pissed of Nobrians would come after them when the events of Pilgrim happened?
I assume it was all worded as random terrorism, not as a targeted strike, its not like the SNC actually cares if they live or die now that they done their purpose
>>
>>739243708
>We did catch them unaware
Okay fair but
>they're mech/tank pilots
Considering Brigador seems to lean heavily into 21st century retrofuturism with some typical sci-fi stuff mixed in, they should have at least training in small arms or at least the loyalist pilots should since all of them were NEP soldiers. Corvid/Spacer brigadors might be easier prey since we don't know if they even know how to fight outside their vehicles.
> its not like the SNC actually cares if they live or die now that they done their purpose
Maybe its true SNC doesn't care whether they live or die I at least would assume they would give a shit that corporate infrastructure is being sacked on Mar Nosso since its their home turf.

Our characters mention the pinball attack forced them to move up their timetable - I assume they were going for a slow boil, picking pilots off one at a time but now Mar Nosso's starting to get wise to what's going on and they're having to rush things before more pilots start putting together contingencies. Obstacle 1 is basically the team's opening salvo and I assume things are about to get real hot for them.

ACKshually, powersuit operators are called "Drivers" while the heavier leg unit operators are called "Pilots." I just did the concrete rig mission and honestly I have yet to really be challenged. You can just walk around gunning people down and as long as you bring tools to deal with certain obstecles, it's pretty easy.

>>

Treads have to be bought from the merchant, legs can be dropped (rarely) by either the lanky cylinder power suits in sinkhole and the dromon rig mission (lobos legs) or the sawbuck power suit in the corvid version of the chop shop mission (loyalist legs, enemy looks like a grey carmine ring)

You must buy them at the merchant. The only legs and treads you can get are Lobo Legs for the Coffin and Ball Treads off the rare Spacer Bike in Chop Shop.

All of the Brigador kills in the demo and book have been pretty underwhelming outside of Vocc, but this is one of the characters I hope ends up being some kind of boss fight. Like with dialog and everything. Same with Dieudonné Rem. His backstory is just too hardcore not to make an event out of.

>>739268395

>>
>>739268395
From what I've seen from the dev rooms, the 3 Brigadors we kill in the demo is basically just an opening salvo surprise attack by our team, the brigadors we're hunting afterwards have way more depth
>>
I played a little bit of the demo and all of you guys seems to be having a great time, but I think I want to come back for the full release. Game just seems too unpolished right now.
>>
What's the usecase for powersuits and smaller vehicles right now? In Brigador 1 it was obviously part of the difficulty setting but at the same time you could also mousehole and hide behind shit/pop over cover since you were so short. I'm having trouble seeing what they actually bring to the table in Killers though since the battlefield is more open and simultaneously less malleable.

Of course they just revamped building HP on itch so maybe mouseholing comes back.
>>
>>739268784
Shit in the demo the smaller stuff feels way better than in brigador imo, in the first game I felt like they were just challenge modes. Now they are legitimate upgrades from being on foot.
>>

Can't really bale you there. Frankly I'm shocked at how unanimously positive /v/ has been so far. Hardly any shitposts or doomsaying or anything; it's mostly been genuine criticism.
People are even talking about the books and music in a positive manner. It's kind of wild.

>>739268784
Deploying a Mog out of a loader van is a good (if complicated) compromise between combat prowess and hauling capacity. Who knows how it'll pan out in the full release though.
Otherwise, I'm hoping a lot of the less meta options end up being set pieces in the story campaign. Like yeah, I'm not going to willingly kit myself out in garbage gear in garage mode, but I can totally see how the protagonists would forced to make due in the more structured story.
>>
>>739268784
Scale
>Not a very convincing impression of a tank, but it’s useful enough for intimidating the locals.
>That's why smart commanders reserve them for intimidating the locals and gunning down hapless infantry. Anything bigger and the Fence is outmatched.
The main thing is you're rocking a light mech/powersuits but the enemy aint so you feel like god when you let it rip on those poor fuckers.
>>
>>739269494
It's what happens when you have a game popular enough that the threads stay alive but not so popular that it attracts the attention of shitposters. Plenty of people on /v/ want to actually talk about videogames,it's just hard.
>>

>>
>>739268784
smaller vehicles fit well in cramped spaces, like sinkhole

the turret tuk tuk is cheap and easy to build early, and has a 30 mount. if you get your hands on a porco you can run vandenberg early and grab enough money for your party van treads. Also, you can pack a turret tuk tuk into the back of a van. Either as a backup or a different loadout for a different part of the mission.

I ended up doing the small gun crate ammo thing and bought a whole betushka on my reset garage with just the turret.
>>
>>739268784
>the battlefield is more open
really depends on the map, using anything bigger than a powersuit in the sinkhole or the second half of the dromon rig missions kinda sucks ass

You can pack a powersuit in a large crate slot, which lets you have more protection and firepower than a Carmine rig as well as loot capacity in a loader van.
>>
>>739269494
Funny you say that. As far as I can tell, the Garbotruck is better than the Loader Van for that kind of set up. Both only have one heavy slot, which can fit a Mog, but the Garbotruck has more small slots. Honestly, I know the UI is placeholder but I really wish mount slots were differentiated at all. It's annoying having to test them to see what'll fit.

Thats because this game is still low key

Just wait for the Sseth review of the full game and it'll be hell afterwards
>>
>>739270334
Loader van has 2 large + 1 small slots, which I'd say is more useful than the garbotruck's 1 large + 5 or so small slots since the loader van can carry a mog + 5000 cap crate.
But considering the 5000 crate is probably a placeholder and after the loader van's inventory nerf, the garbotruck might ultimately have more capacity.
However, I still think 2 large slots is still more versatile overall. Either way, there might be better transport options in the full game.
>>
>>739270334
Garbage truck's too slow for my liking. I feel like I have a much better chance getting out of a bad situation in the van.
And yeah, I hate that it doesn't tell you what fits in what slot, or what's in each crate.
>>
>>739204475
I recommended it to a friend but haven't thought about it in like a week. Tbdesu I got hard stuck on garage mode after like the third mission. Idk how to get guns on my fuckin partvan or the last chassis pieces I need for the shitty walker. Like I have most of it but after grinding those first missions over and over I just don't get it yet.

Makes me sad because I think I would love this game
>>
>>739271047
>Idk how to get guns on my fuckin partvan
You select the vehicle's inventory on the left then drag weapons onto the weapon slots, be mindful of the weight limit listed on each slot
>the last chassis pieces I need for the shitty walker
You can buy the walker parts from the black market in Merchant Causeway, they come in 2 large crates so you might need to make multiple trips.
>>
>>739266357
I suspect that's what the pinball is
>>
>>739271047
You can buy some stuff in the Merchant Bridge mission (and sell him car parts that you got from farming OvOs) as well as farm the early levels of sinkhole for ammo. My current ammo strat is just running around levels 1, 2, and 3 in the Hole in my Casket and hoovering up the high value ammo I can find (both backpacks slots fitted with an ammo drum).

Putting guns on the panel van requires upgrading it to an Upgunned Van and then outfitting it in the loadout menu (the big green square on the left hand side of the garage).
>>
>>739271047
Grinding isn't the way to do it. Just play the missions one after another, collect and field what you can. You're never going to get a partyvan without buying treads and the money comes quickly in two of the later missions. In my expert Gamerâ„¢ opinion, you're going in with preconceived notions. If you run out of gear, kick the first guy you see and take his gun. You'll get more out of playing the other missions than running Crow's Field and Roundabout over and over. Hope that helps, sincerely.

some are obviously predispositioned, but it only takes a few trolls or schizos to take notice and linger for a while, then they'll just flock to it like months to a flame as the game itself is will become a rallying tag of sorts. they genuinely do not care about the contents.

Content matters, but yeah the groups it attracts and especially who the devs cater or signal to matters way more.
Take Ultrakill. What does the game content have to do with troons and degenerates? Literally nothing. But the dev encourages them so now it's got a unfortunately big troon rep.

Basically, yeah this game is safe because that ain't gonna happen. Vibes are wrong and devs would repel that community.

So what am I meant to do? I have all this loot but what am I meant to do with it? Build mechs that require you to do back and forths with the trader? But the missions are already easy and every high difficulty mission is a salvage one so you're basically compelled to not bring a mech and instead bring your van with the 5000 space crate for more loot.

I have a mongoose, brought it to one mission and regretted it because I couldn't pick up the the quest item. A van with a gun is usually all you need but I want to relive the old days of shredding neighbourhoods
>>
Should I turn off aimlock? Half the time I feel like my guns can't hit anything because the aim look is slightly off

Yeah I mean, it's just a test demo. You're done beyond if you want to dick around.

I think some of the turrets have a slight offset, so lock works better on foot and then walking tracers onto target works better while in the seat. I'm not sure how intentional it is but I definitely feel it in the upgunned van and a little in the Casket too.
>>
>>739282457
I built the small tank and the big red one, both are hilarious for plowing straight through buildings to do missions fast.
>>
>>739282457
Conquering the Sinkhole is sorta the final challenge for the demo I think. But beyond that it really is just a demo and a testing ground. Get your fill of the game and dick around, decide if you wanna buy it on release.

best way to kill apcs?
>>
>>739282969
they're dumb
if you don't have any rocket launchers, just get into carmine and spam spam them with the caliber larger than 9mm. even .45 works. i killed my first APC with a senor graxa.
you don't even need a carmine, just be out of range and wait kite them until they either get stuck or go back to patrol
>>
>>739282969
Well, the best way is to be inside something bigger when engaging them, but I assume you're talking about early game. Grenades over cover or hitting it with the Penpal from long range are good methods, other then that you can just whittle them down with normal bullets. Also, try to engage them from behind for maximum effect.
>>
>>739282969
Law rockets, RPGs, Carlos, thermobaric grenades.
If you have bigger mounts, there is the 20 (or was it 25mm?) Auto cannons and the Sarissa and stuff.
But this is assuming you need to kill the fast and face to face, the other anon is correct you can just plink away at them because their AI and driving is bad.
>>
>>739282969
One RPG shot downs them. If you're talking about the first encounter in wilderness, try the thermo nades. Probably the only thing that drops early that disposes of them easily. Then you can soup one up and just 1v1 them with some high calibre
>>
>>739283471
You can find LAWs in the yard of a mansion on that police protected downtown mission, don't remember how it's called. It's medium difficulty, I think, hut they're not guaranteed to spawn. That same house always has 2 OvOs
>>
>>739282582
>>739282772
Look at this shit bro. Turned off autolock right after and it felt way better. It's never fun wrestling the controls. I can't remember if this was in the first game but since enemies were bigger it probably wasn't an issue

is there a vehicle that has more stroage than the panel van loader? I want something with like 2 big crates
>>
>>739284619
No, Panel Van Loader is the largest.
However, you can also just buy a crate with 5,000 space form the merchant which at that point, even just loading one big crate is more than you'll need.

Wasn't it? I've only played the first one. Was there some extensive story in the missions?
Shit like Hotline Miami had more narrative elements.
>>
>>739296151
Most of the lore was in acquisitions, including loads of entries you could buy exclusively for the lore. Also every pilot, vehicle and weapon had an in universe description. There's a lot of worldbuilding in that game, it's just optional instead of being a straightforward narrative.
>>
>>739295814
No need to be a cunt

>>739296151
There's some pretty extensive lore, but it's completely optional. I do think they made the game more immersive/enjoyable to me, but even if you decide to skip them they won't affect your gameplay in any way
>>
>>739294907
Reminds me a bit of Assault Trooper too.

>>739204475
So what exactly are Corvids doing on Mar Nosso? My understanding from the first Brigador is that they only began as a resistance movement against the NEP regime led by Great Leader and previously had no presence on Mar Nosso. Presumably some are refugees who fled among the Nobreans in yellow raincoats but the demo shows they have entire undercities under their control already. Are they also plotting their own revenge campaign against SNC in parallel to the Brigador Killers themselves (hence the pinball section at the start of the game not actually being expected by the squad) or did Corvids actually predate The Troubles and the SNC's fall from power on Solo Nobre?
>>
>>739296702
The SNC produced a series of films depicting the Corvids as brave freedom fighters taking down the big bad Great Leader

This had the unintended effect of causing the poor and oppressed masses in the neighboring colony of Posadochny to rally around the concept of these badass rebels taking down their oppressors as well as the few non corporate bootlickers in Mar Nosso

They're larpers

Is there any reason to turn the shields off during a mission? is there a strategy im not seeing or is it just extra armor you don't have to repair after a mission is done

Also i got into a scrap with my mongoose and i can't repair it for some reason, i have all the parts it asks me to repair it but doesn't do anything, nor does it consume any thankfuly, do i just scrap the mongoose and build it again or what?
>>
>>739302578
I don't think there is any point in turning of shields mid mission since anything can still scratch your vehicle up pretty much.
And yes, current steam version has a repair bug. Just unload all the gear into your stash and salvage it and then rebuild it, as you guessed.
>>
>>739302578
In the demo there's no reason to do it, but if you're in a vehicle with a high enough armor value to outright ignore small arms fire then you could switch it off temporarily to save a few shield points.

>do i just scrap the mongoose and build it again or what?
Yes. They're working on fixing that for the next update.
>>
>>739302578
In the original there were weapons that dealt more damage to shields than they did to hull so that will probably remain true in Killers and when you run into those then it'll probably be beneficial to toggle them off, but since there's no good way to test that with the kinds of enemies currently in the demo there's no point to it other than "rebooting" them to full HP when you get back to the garage.

So armor has damage resistance but shields don't. A 9mm won't do even a single point against your Fork but it will drain your shields.

You can also lower them before progressing to another stage and raise them back to full once you're in the next stage. Only works for multi-stage missions though, of which I think there are three right now
