The patch was fucked. Narrowhead still has zero QA. The new flamethrower mech litterally does zero damage within 10 meters. They still have retards like Alexus making nonsensical and maliciously childish balance changes. For example they want to nerf the survivability of the tank, but they don't want to look like they are nerfing the tank. So they buff the durable damage of enemies across the board in a change barely mentioned in the footnotes. The end result is that mechs, sentries, and emplacent are now massively fragile because the buffed enemy firepower blows them the fuck out. They keep sneaking in undocumented changes like dramatically increasing the rate that chargers can turn around. Other nonsensical changes that aren't thought through were the hive guard armor buffs that ruined MG and gatling sentries. The shit cherry on top was pilesdadt's terrible optics with his AMA where he said that they don't care about veteran players and just want to sell warbond slop to new blood.

Mech survivability increased anon against all factions, even bugs. Their total health went up while only melee got buffs to damage against them to match, BUT, also now when your legs break your mech just limps, arms/guns are more durable, and your mech doesn't bleed or whatever that nonsense was that was in before.
Turrets don't care about durability damage, nothing changed, that's a complete misunderstanding of mechanics.
The only thing you are right about is tanks got a durability nerf. The hiveguard change was a dubious experiment so they just gave up on it in like 3 days.
Mechs stomp bugs, and now they are better vs. any the ranged damage of both bots and squids. The flamer mech only has a small deadzone with the flamer. Definitely annoying but my buddy just uses it to crush through bug missions anyway because it has great anti-heavy as well so it's very efficient vs. everything. I just run AC mech same as always and it still stomps them but better now.

The real issues is the bugs and warbond structure, how fucking impossible it is to get super credits normally in game while playing d10 which they will never address because then they would lose money since you wouldn't be forced to buy space bucks. For bugs, I think they built a game they literally cannot fix and it's just fundamentally broken on many levels barely limping along. Because nothing else even makes sense at this point since if it were even "hard" to fix bugs or stop so many from cropping up, they would have done so by now becuase it would make them more money and get them easy cred.

They should also just stop communicating at all besides patch notes with straight up numbers and brief descriptions because they fucking suck at it and constantly just piss people off with their whatever nonsense expanatios.

The games balance goes up and down, around and back and forth and sideways, but fundamentally the list of tools you have that are good at fucking your enemy keeps increasing. Like gas, like fire, like all the changes to light pen weapons, smgs and assault rifles, etc. etc.

Yeah I don't really care about the tank and I don't have much testing time in it so I'm not gonna make any big claims or talk about it claiming I've got the hard facts and objective truth concerning it. My personal opinion it is just kind of feels like shit to drive and taking two people means it's kind of terrible because reducing two people to a single awkward platform means less overall firepower since you don't have two people chucking out stratagems and meeting out their own damage while doing objectives.

I think making it have heavy armor *would* be a mistake because the game design just doesn't flow well if enemies literally can't hurt you, but at the same time it probably needs to be different to actually be good/fun.
If they gave it a non-retarded turret that had way more rotation, that would be nice. If a single person could drive it, I think that would be great.
But they have this obsession with trying to design things that encourage (or force) two people to work together on a single platform, but they never make it have enough benefits to really be worth it like 99% of the time.
Really it should be like a Battlefield APC where everyone gets to have their own gun, like side mounted guns for the 3rd and 4th person, so everyone could have fun in the party bus. Being able to transport 2 people who get to do nothing is so pointless. Hell, even just letting you sit on the sides of the tank would be way better.
Idk, maybe it was good enough they were desperate to see people use it less and it was rustling their jimmies, hence making it more fragile, but I just don't like it, even before then.

Look no further that the absolute fucking retarded system of buddy loading heavy weapons like the recoilless rifle. It's the perfect example of the devs not fundamentally understanding their game or how players interact with a game. They don't understand why nobody bothers and it's mind-blowingly fucking obvious and easily addressed.

Nobody uses it because the primary user has to give up their backpack and trust that another player isn't going to lose it, accidentally or otherwise. You also need a player willing to give up their own backpack slot. It was painfully obvious from the very beginning that this system was never going to work.

What's even more frustrating is the fix would be simple: allow buddy reloading without the second player needing the backpack. Just have an interaction for the second player pop-up on the primary player that allows the second player to quick reload them, similar to what exists now. That's it, that's right there would make it feasible. In the heat of battle a random could just attach themselves to you and boost your reload without either player needing to commit to a permanent role.

These dumbfuck swedish devs don't understand the basic principles of using player psychology to incentivise playstyles without outright pigeonholing them with bullshit like taking away drop pod maneuverability.

Yes, and this also highlights how these retarded devs view game balance. They think being able to buddy load without having to give up your backpack would be too OP. Completely missing the obvious fact that the tradeoff is that you've effectively removed a squad member from the fight because they are reloading another player. That's one less player not shooting or throwing stratagems, the balance is baked right in.

Its just like the hellpod maneuverability nerfs, they don't want players camping on cliff tops, but somehow are oblivious to the fact a player sitting on a cliff cannot get to objectives or extract without leaving said cliff. New Mech buffs are great and basically make you immortal on Bug/Illuminate front if you play smart.
But they're still just sorta meh on Bot front- not terrible but have to play safer.

They should add mech's that have slightly less health but greater Durable Damage Resitances and Explosive Resistance.
Can either be it's own unique Mech or if they ever add Mech Cuztomization a optional body replacment. Actually there should be at least 3 Mech Body variants:

Balance aside itr feels like the biggest issue with AH is that nobody knows what the person next to them is doing. Like, they don't feel like a team. They feel like a bunch of contractors with diffrent ideas on what the game is meant to be and then just throw all that shit into a pot.

As for the actual change itself... It's complicated. It made them easier and have a stronger role- but I did dislike how they basically neutered a whole range of Chaff/Area Denial weapons like the Maxigun which already was pretty shit.

The most baffling part about this is they easily could've just raised their Durable Resistance on the head and lower body health and it would've achieved the same thing but with much less controversy.
