Is Wo Long easier than Stranger of Paradise?
>>
>>739254063
Depends.
>1 button parry playstyle is easier in Wo Long
>making OP builds is easier in Stranger
>>
>>739254063
No
>>
for sure, but part of it is down to wo long running better. the r est is down to the parry window being xbox huge
>>
>>739254063
>sop
Might get the game. Is farming bad in the game? Are there hotspots or just push through as the game's easy anyway?
>>
>>739254371
They pitched out the best early farming method that I remember
>>
>>739254371
I got the platinum trophy and I didn't do anything extraordinary. It was pretty easy.
>>
>>739254371
It gets hard when you start the 1st dlc
>>
SoP dlc kinda becomes unfun difficulty wise
You die in one hit to everything and it breaks your weird time space shit gilgamesh causes so you have to start at square one
>>
>>739254459
>>739254515
Got it
>>739255237
I've heard that the dlc are hard af. They are longer than the base game.
>>
yes, they fucked wo long by increasing the parry window so much. both are still great games, but SoP is better than wo long since it's not as easy and has a great end game with the portal shit.
>>
>>739254186
Ludicrous, you haven't played wo long past the standard difficulty, if that
>>
>>739254063
Not really, though Wo Long is a bit easier to cheese, it generally asks more of the player.
>>
Nioh 3 is easier than both.
>>
>>739254063
In the end, I found Wolong quite boring and repetitive. I never played Stranger of Paradise, though.
Come to think of it, the only Team Ninja game that clicked with me was Rise of Ronin.
>>
I started jack's game the other day and I'm still tryna get a good grasp on the controls. You guys use the default one? Attacking with shoulder buttons feels so weird and canceling attacks with dashes, soul shield and block has like a 50% success rate and I eat shit immediately. I imagine it might click eventually but maybe its because I'm coming off of NG4 master ninja or something.
>>
>>739258624
I immediately put attack on square. There are a decent few controls to keep track of, but if you can dodge everything and hit guys, the rest is extra.
>>
>>739257393
he's right retard, SoP has far more build space to break the game with while wo long is very one dimensional
>>
>>739255418
>You die in one hit to everything
The game allows you to become very tanky to the point of being essentially invulnerable and the only thing which would cause you problems is the weird progression jump where the DLC assumes you've farmed the base endgame for a while. You can skip your way forward by just killing some trash in a high level mission, get any random pieces of gear of a high item level and that fixes the survivability jump
>>
The parry is too free in Wo Long and the AI Allies are too good.
Chaos Man's game wins.
>>
Remember that if you don't use Jack solo you didn't beat the game nor respect Jacks's strength.
>>
>>739254063
No, Stranger is by far the easiest of these Team Ninja games and you are just shitty at it in particular for some reason if you disagree. Both DLCs get harder but Stranger is just an easier game still.
>>
>>739258190
Didn't ask.
>>
>>739258624
>Attacking with shoulder buttons feels so weird and canceling attacks with dashes
Come on bro. Demon Souls and Dark Souls have been out for +15 years.
>>
>>739261007
I haven't played a fromsoft game before though
>>
>>739255418
Post game is meant to be balanced around Multiplayer.
>>
>>739254371
going off what >>739255237 said, each DLC is locked to an increased difficulty tier, so there's no playing the DLC on a casual setting unless you include the extra mode, which lets you be in permanent limit break status for the tradeoff of getting worse drops. The thing is, there's a relatively easily achieved gear synergy skill that makes you immune to damage while in that state, so if you have no shame, you can stay in extra mode with this synergy throughout all the DLCs to get to the end, if seeing the story is all you want.
>>
>>739260274
How do you deactivate Jack's bros?
They don't seem to do shit besides tanking hits, which is useful, but not THAT useful.
>>
>>739261764
On party setup then just bench them.
>>
>>739261720
That's like cheating or like using a shield in dark souls.
>>
>>739254063
The main campaign in Wo Long is harder than SoP but the SoP DLC campaigns are harder than Wo Long
>>
>>739258813
That's not what I had issues with
>>
>>739261845
That's why I said it's shameful and only for people interested in seeing the end of the DLC's story.
>>
>>739260274
Does the party still show up in dialogue? I'd rather play solo but I don't want to miss out on story for that.

Then you probably don't understand the most basic fundamentals like attacks being committed animations which you aren't supposed to be able to cancel at will, that being a special property of certain actions in SoP
>>
>>739262103
Hope I'll get to the end without cheating. Will likely go void/summoner. Class selection and fashion fantasy is great, but skills do suck.
Somehow sop has modern tech while ff1 has barely a medieval tech level.
>>
>>739262253
the attack effects look like they come from a PSP game or something, kek
I know Team Ninja is poverty but this game seems like a budget title even for them.
still wanna play it.

Particles look very bad in low bitrate video and all TN games overuse particles
>>
>>739254063
SoP has difficulties, but the DLCs are NG+
Wo Long has 1 difficulty, alright in the base game slightly on the easier side, some of the DLCs are pretty tough
>>
>>739262253
You are locked into attack animations, except a lot of them can be freely canceled into job switching. I sometimes do attack > special > job switch > parry just to not get hit.
>>
>>739262417
You won’t get to the end most likely. There’s a reason SoP has utterly abysmal clear rates for the dlc. The NG+ modes are beyond garbage
>>
>>739262214
Yeah they will still chat.
>>
>>739262972
Can't I just beat the game? Or should I rush and beat the dlc in ng+?
>>
>>739261764
They take the aggro too
>>
>>739262449
Is the Bahamut job good or not?
>>
>>739262972
I will spam black magic with R2 in Extra Mode and there is nothing you can do about it.
>>
>>739258624
Try different weapons sword n' board has pretty quick light attacks. Also, practice guard parries instead of just soul shield. A parry restores stamina so it helps out stamina economy a lot. It also helps you practice timing instant soul shields and successive soul shield chains.

>>739260274
Jack solo has boosted stats there's a good reason to do it when you don't have 600% Liberator stat blobs following you around

>>739261336
Post game is balanced around beating and grinding each season before they released. So 300- 400 Bahamut before Gil and floor 30-50 lab before Lufenia.

>>739262972
Warrior of Light just has ur moves bro. How can youexpect to beat your enemy if you can't beat urself? Try reading the Art of War.
>>
>>739264603
400 boss kills?
>>
>>739264138
What's that?
Can every class use every weapon? Do you switch class on the fly? Are classes static or do they have variety? Do classes matter during level up or does jack has fixed stats? Are there perm stat upgrades?
>>
>>739254063
Eh depends how you approach them. Jack's game you can really break apart because the build variety and freedom. Playing both as pure action games and ignoring the number systems (Just affinity bonuses and Kings set bonus etc) then Jack's game has harder bosses with more variety. That said Wo Long has really good boss design for some of the base game and DLCs. Idk if TmJ or Rift are better endgames.

>>
>>739264854
There's a job that's basically playing as Bahamut. It takes a bit to unlock. It's pretty good, but you wouldn't pick it to get the strongest job. You'd pick it to play as Bahamut.
You can switch class in the menus and there's a button to switch, though you pick 2 and 1 of them is switched to on that button.
I don't think there is a way to level Jack up, just leveling jobs.
>>
>>739262253
>basic fundamentals like attacks being committed animations
You're a massive retard if you think that's unique to Souls shit.
>>
>>739265086
So jobs are basically equipping stats and gear most likely. Got it. Pretty gamey. There's almost no customization then except for jobs and gear. Unsure if that's fun. Cheesy story or not.
>>
>>739265249
You're illiterate

>>739258624
>canceling attacks with dashes, soul shield and block has like a 50% success rate
what do you think he doesn't understand anon? You thick fuck
>>
>>739265419
There is a move unique to each job, so you might pick a job specifically to do that move. Sometimes that move doesn't do much, though, and there are like a few spellcasting jobs where the move is just casting some spells, with very little variation in which spells they cast.
>>
>>739265602
I see. Well, playing mediocre games can make you cherish good games better.

>>
>>739266028
>if you're being a dick about it
Wasn't my intention.
>soulslike
Come to think of it, they are truly low budget and barebones. You can pick like a weapon and a stat and that's that. With growing ng+ armor becomes a burden. You are right, I should talk about playing, if I can play the game.
>dlc
Why are they hard to finish? Are they even worth playing?
>>
>>739265930
That was the reason I skipped the game until now. Can you turn them off?
>>
>>739266245
I don't remember a setting for it, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a mod to lessen or disable them on PC
>>
>>739265930
this must murder performance...
>>
>>739266245
Officially? No
But I remember on launch one of the most common specialK modifications was turning off the particles so the game won't shit itself and drop to half speed every time you soul burst an enemy
Now I heard specialK gone to shit or something, but surely there are other programs like it that would let you do that + all the other SFX you don't like
>>
>>739266197
The dlc is hard to finish because the actual base game is just that, an actual game. The DLC is only available on the really slop NG++ difficulty settings to where the game stops being an actual game and more of a Skinner box rpg loot slop game like Diablo and before you think
>oh that’s like nioh and their NG+ system wasn’t that bad
No, it’s simply on a different level of spreadsheet slop. It’s worse than modding nioh 2 to start at DotN. Better pull open that spreadsheet and get your gay ass affinities sorted, it’s awful lmao. It is by a country mile the worse dlc and NG+ out of the post nioh team ninja games
>>
>>739265678
It probably has too many options for character customizaiton, not just in jobs, but in gear that confers stat bonuses and passives, can be part of multiple sets that can grant multiple passives, and there are two jobs available at a time each with different gear. It doesn't feel like they ever tried to limit character customization. It just doesn't work exactly like you'd expect.

Surprisingly, not really. One of Marilith's soul bursts dropped me to 40-50fps, on the other hand.
>>
>>739254063
For the majority of either game, it's not super difficult if you've played Nioh or even souls-likes; but then there's just randomly 1 or 2 bosses or levels that absolutely wreck your shit for where you are in the game. I would say they're about the same difficulty-wise. Wo Long was interesting because you had to learn the chinese alchemy weaknesses based on real chinese alchemy, whilst stranger of paradise is more straightforward fire beats wood kind of thing.

If it comes to overall game ratings, I'd put SoP over Wo Long, as I think it's the best Final Fantasy game, but which is better overall will just depend on your own preference I think.
>>
>>739254371
You don't need to farm, or at least I didn't have to. I played it on a harder difficulty as well.
>>
>>739254063
Neither game really push you to engage with a lot of the mechanics in NG but I think SoP has better endgame. Wo Long is very fun though, there's just no real reason for most players to really engage with all the systems that come with the spirit gauge beyond deflecting. Love them both personally.

>>739258624
Personal preference but I like the one that has attack bound to X, instant ability to Y, your skill to RB and job change to RT.
>>
>>739254063
I dunno but I finished Jack's game and LU BU made me drop Wo Dong

>>
>>739270115
>but the game doesn't prevent you from just outplaying it
It basically does though because of how meter works. If you don’t have the requisite gear you’ll have your soul shield or whatever the fuck it is instantly broken which annihilates your meter gain

>>
>>739263641
You misunderstand. Finishing the main story unlocks the DLC, which continues the story, but it's locked on a higher difficulty than the maximum difficulty for the story up to this point. There's no NG+, as the game is mission-based so you can go back and redo early chapters, which you'll need to do later on higher DLC only difficulties to unlock certain things.
>>
>>739264254
The easiest way is to get the minimum necessary to get the knight immunity to damage, and then spam the long range ability that uses up 2 MP bars. Since you immediately get those back since you're permanently in lightbringer mode, you can spam it from afar for huge damage. There's only one boss in the game that can hurt you while doing this (as far as I experienced), which is the Warrior of Light, who has a debuff he can apply that removes all your buffs and negates your armor abilities, making you kill-able for a short time, but you can avoid that attack easily enough to get through the fight even if you've been playing baby mode for most of the game.

>>
>>739269367
Lube Oo is the hardest boss in the game. You even fight him again without his horse and it's way easier. I would abuse whatever bullshit can help with that part, then go back to playing the game normally.
