Why aren't you using Godot engine?

I'm sure that this is an equal comparison and not a disingenuous cherry picked showcase.

>>739284740>>739284752>>739284798>>739284839>>739284893What the fuck is he trying to show? that he can't compose a proper lighting scene for his shitty room and prefers the engine that does it better by default?
which one isnt moderated by troonsill go with that
>>739284994you can just download the engine and never interact with the community
>>739284893>same game>scenes are clearly differentHe could try to at least make the intensity of the light sources similar
>>739284740It looks like godot has an unrealistic formula for the light fading, it's not quadrantic(if the guy did everything the same)
>>739285028this could apply to a lot of games too but /v/ is unable to do that
>>739284752Does he just not know how to use Unity's light probes or something.I enjoy working with Godot but Unity definitely has a lighting engine, it is present in the suite.
Bros I wanna download an engine, make a square room and put my OC in it and ask $30 on Steam for my masterpiece.
>>739284752>>739284798>"You see, Godot looks WAY better if you disable all of the shading and lighting in Unity"
>>739284893This video is so incredibly disingenuous lmao
So Unity has all effects disabled and still can't get as good fps as Godot with effects enabled?
>>739284740godot iddy bitty baby uwww uh bitty little bitty baby
>>739285652Unity isn't even using his GPU at 50% while Godot is sitting at 80%.
>>739284740That gpu usage is garbage cut it in half like unity or you've already lost.
>>739284893>game designer
>>739284740I want to but i don't know where to start
>>739284740I don't get it. You can setup the light in both engines however you want. If you really want you can get a different light renderer than the inbuilt one for baked lighting from the unity store (Bakery).
>>739284740I am, my game broke 250k in first two weeks

nice lighting bro

>>739284740>Why aren't you using Godot engine?I will absolutely will Once I'm done optimising my llama.cpp and make my local models run ultra fast Then my grand strategy game space game creation can begin

>>739289814>ue5Was there really a point to using it?It doesn't seem like they really leveraged any of the rendering tech that it brings to the table.
>>739289946my guess is that it's for the convenient tools under the hood like importing assets from other software. or maybe it's just easier to configure scenes without direct coding. it also has built in level streaming. hard to tell. i'd say unreal is the most artist-friendly engine though. going into it with minimal desire to code you can still achieve a lot of results, versus unity or godot where you will need to code some scripts to make things easier. unreal is super bloated, but most of that bloat is toggling stuff in countless menus.
>>739289946a game engine is much more than a renderer anon
>>739290035>it also has built in level streamingI think that may be it, IIRC the game was built as a continuous series of fights through unique environments and probably wouldn't have worked as well if it had to stop to load levels.
>>739289946It's a versatile engine with a good level editor and documentation; sometimes it's much better than anything else. Engine you know>engine you don't
