At the end of the day, you shouldn't take an existing IP and turn it into your thinly disguised fanfic. When Homelander's actor has come out and said that he needed to reign in the show creator because he was going too overboard with the Trump comparisons to the point where it was compromising the character, that's a clear issue and what we got was a toned down version of what was initially pitched because of the actor's pushback. Ideally, the staff of this show would never be allowed to work on an adaptation ever again. Stick to making original shows, all they've done is completely kill The Boys brand and any desire for most people to watch any of the spinoffs. It took nearly 10 years for people to be willing to give the Game of Thrones universe a chance again and that's only because the word of mouth around Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was so positive(and it was a faithful adaptation of the source material by new staff).
