> This is so close to a modern controller, shall we add a select button?
> NO! This is only to be used with the GCN NSO app.
> How about we add gyro instead even though no gamecube games use it?
> Sure! Lol

the sticks aren't even clickable man. i'm convinced these had to be built with retrimmed switch pro controller pcbs or something because there's no fucking explanation for why gyro is the only modern controller feature that made it in-tact. (shitty mangled ZL button DOES NOT COUNT)
>>
>>739301437
It's still not usable wireless but with a USB stick it's actually the most kino way you can play Twilight Princess Recompiled, because it uses the Gyro, and everything else maps how it should. The rumble is also good in it.

So it's worse than using the USB adapter?
That's a huge bummer.
>>

What's the point of a select button when it doesn't select anything.
>>
>>739303609
For anything besides Switch 2, yes.
It does work with Mario Sunshine in the AllStar collection, and works decently in a few other Switch games. But once you connect it to the PC it's a piece of shit. Either people gave up out of disinterest or it really is a tough nut to crack.

How do they sumulate the missing trigger functionality?
>>
>>739304043
The controller still has analog, dual-stage triggers. The Switch itself supports analog trigger inputs, its primary controllers just use digital.

>>739303930
It's been supported natively in SDL for a while, which also means it's been supported by Steam Input and some emulators, but barely anyone has bothered trying to make the wireless mode work because BLE is finnicky on Windows and USB is considered "good enough."
I don't particularly mind the decision to opt for BLE as the protocol for their next gen of controllers, but I hate how much more complicated it made everything on the PC side, as if using Nintendo controllers on PC wasn't already a losing battle before.

Good. Clicking sticks is a bad trend and I wish it'd go away.
>>
>>739301437
Ninty sure got a lot of mileage out of the Gamecube controller's factory molds.
>>
>>739304043
There's missing trigger functionality? They seem to snap the same as the original one, to me?
>>

I just want it so someone can implement it wirelessly for Wii U. Or at least wired.
When I play Gamecube titles on Wii U, I can plug in a DualShock 3 over USB and it registers as 2P. I just wanna do that but with the GCN controller so that Gamepad is 1P and GCN is 2P.
And for some reason there's no rumble, and I think that's also just a dev oversight and not because vWii doesn't support it.

manchild controller

Smelly smash pedos keeping this garbage controller alive is the worst thing that has happened to humanity
fuck off you tendies
>>

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
>>
>>739301437
Gyro is a modern controller feature, even the N64 trident would be a modern controller capable of competing with most modern controllers with gyro.
>>739301585
Clickable sticks are shit.
>I need more buttons, but I do not need them enough to actually add functioning camera controls into my game
>>
>>739301437
Yeah its weird how close they bring it to being a functionally modern controller without going all the way. Why they made the ZL button the way they did instead of a mirror to the Z button is also a mystery maybe they were committed to making it look the same as an original NGC controller.
>>
If they had added the "minus" and the clicky sticks as well as a proper L button, I would have been all over this controller. Hell, I would have used it as my main if I could just simply remap the buttons, but no. It's so close to being usable, but

"Fuck you." -Nintendo
