>Square Enix give fans what they wanted>People dont buy itThat is why we will never get Nier Automata 2, Chrono Trigger spin off and Xenosaga trilogy remaster or a new gameYou guys only buy garbage and the CEOs are not stupid.
If you're talking about Emerald Beyond, everyone (sans me) hated the fuck out of that game so no wonder no one (sans me) bought it.
>>739304039>give fans what they wantednigga what
>>739304369the game is kinoIt's the Oldboy of videogamesIt's the Dragon Ball Z of the 21th centuryBut v boycott it and prefer shit like Overwatch and CS:GO2
SaGa is just not for casuals which are 99.9% of Squenix audience>>739304369Nah, most old timers liked the game, problem is that old timers are not enough to propel a game into the mainstream and EB was too poverty for the average player out there on top of being impenetrable
>>739304785Saga is indistinguishable from all their other AA JRPG slop so I don’t get why that fanbase in particular is so elitist
>>739305514You would if you actually played the games rather than shitposting about them, thanks for the bump though
>>739305724I’ve played the Romancing Saga 2 remake and there was not one unique thing about the combat. The generations amount to a job switch but you can pick the same classes each time if you want.
>>739304039>Xenosaga trilogy remasterSE doesn't own Xenosaga, they own Xenogears.
>>739305854Oh right, you played the demake not made by the actual developers which everyone who actually plays the series warned people about being explicitly bastardized into an Octopath game to please people like youCare to tell me how many other games you played have a sparking system by the way since apparently the game is nothing but combat?
>>739305854Different anon here. Sure you can pick the same classes each time, but you're also limiting your options since certain classes can spark certain skills. The strongest skills you can get can only be obtained by using a specific class and a specific character from that class. You should try out the remaster, the combat is not like the remake where character action happens when you all make the moves for all characters rather than the character immediately acting after choosing their move.
>>739304039There wasn't a single person who wanted a new SaGa game.
dude emerald beyond is good.poor marketing.
>>739304039I like what I played and bought it on sale but im getting through scarlet grace first
>>739306174There clearly are since they keep making them and people keep buying them.
>>739304039>SaGa 2 remake came out later that year>it's better than the newest SaGa game
I haven't beaten a SaGa game since Frontier 1
>>739304785>SaGa is just not for casuals>actual legit retards really believe this
>>739306792It's not even better than the original game
>>739307123SaGa series difficulty is alright, it's not for casuals, but it's not hardcore either. I do think people overrate the difficulty of the games. A lot of the roadblocks just come from understanding the mechanics of the game. Once you learn that through trial and error or with a guide, the games are bearable. They're not arcade games difficult.
>>739307260No, the games are boring and stuff like >>739304454 totally misses the point of an rpg. Like this is not simulating an actual battle, and it's not like the fights are mentally stimulating, and they aren't well designed either because they are rarely deterministic. It's unironic dunning krueger retard wank and every now and then you'll have a genuine board killer stumble off his dead containment board and start furiously masturbating over saga and metal max like he's in good company.
>>739307541No RPG simulates actual battles and even putting aside how RPGs are not deterministic by necessity EB in particular is all about minimizing and controlling RNG, which you'd know if you actually played the game.Admitting you're on your usual witch hunt because you got mindbroken years ago makes your presence here truly pathetic.
>>739307848Go back retard
>>739307541>RPG influenced by tabletop RPGs designed by a tabletop RPG autist misses the point of being an RPG
>>739307878Nearly every time somebody starts discussing this series on /v/ you show up to shitpost against the entire games and bring up your very own Barry to justify your derangement after people point out how you're full of shit, I've seen you pop up in here for at the very least two or three years.I understand it's hard to ask to a /v/ schizo but Isn't it about time you let it go? Clearly you do not enjoy being here nor do you enjoy the games.
>>739308071>he said he's a "tabletop autist" so it must be true>the tabletop game in question? candyland!
>>739308141/vrpg/ gets 1 post an hour, why do you think that is? Why does /v/ have 90 rpg threads when /vrpg/ gets 1 post an hour? Why is /v/ getting slower and slower the more rpg spam it gets? Maybe you're the problem and maybe everything you touch turns to rotten shit.
>>739308262This anon is mad nobody makes enough threads about arcade games, especially shmups lol. I know it's you. I can sense it from a mile away.
>>739308495And now you're identifying yourself as a histrionic schizo who spends way too much time astroturfing garbage here. Funny how small 4chan feels sometimes, it's all like a small amount of shitposters are making all the threads and ruining the website for everyone.
>>739308262>/vrpg/ gets 1 post an hour, why do you think that is?Because it's a dead board populated by approximately 30 people, around 20 of which are Bethesda fans and 23 of which are RPGCODEX immigrants.Sometimes there's also some rare, actual discussion about RPGs that isn't shitposting.>Why does /v/ have 90 rpg threads when /vrpg/ gets 1 post an hour?Because /v/ is the underage driven, /pol/ adjacent board populated by terminally online people like you who have to constantly fabricate outrages to create fake traffic and engagement and pretend this website isn't a shadow of its former self.Do you also wonder why /3/ gets like 100 posts per day? Do you have more conspiracy theories about how people who actually talk about a board's topic are supposedly ruining this place unlike people like you who are literally hallucinating persecutors? This guy here>>739308495 isn't me either by the way.
>>739304039I enjoyed the combat in Emerald Beyond, but disliked very nearly everything else about the game. Scarlet Grace didn't do much for me, either, but I like several of the older entries.
>>739308652You want proof I like the games or something? Lol. I like this series, and I also happen to like arcade games. Because I like those two things I get to see who complains what. There's this one anon who who constantly complains about RPGs and champion shmups, and I can't help but notice that.
>>739304039I'm afraid the zoomers want Octopath
>>739310419True, but it's not the zoomers who complain about SE supposedly not making deep turn based JRPGs anymore, which is what OP is talking about
>>739304039I wanted Squaresoft back. WHERE IS IT?
>>739306174Kawazu wanted a new SaGa game and that's more than enough
>>739304039the game is legit too schizophrenic and I got filtered.t. only cleared all protags once
>>739311734The game being schizophrenic is arguably its best quality, nothing like playing through Tsunanori's story over and over again and see how he progressively gets mindbroken by the loop
>>739307018Frontier 1 was great
>>739311107More than Squaresoft, I want Enix back
>>739304039>was going to buy it on Switch>no Jap dubno jap dub, no buy.
>>739314190I'm fairly sure EB is dual language on all platforms?
>>739314726I bought a JP copy of EB and I can confirm there's a region lock. So if you have a US copy, there's no option for JP dub. Text are also region locked.
>>739315098That's bullshit, is it a switch only thing?
>>739315171In my case, I confirmed it using my PS5 copy.
>>739315245I can't believe that's still a thing on consoles after all the bitching things like Minstrel Song Remastered got for not having native dual audio and text
