Let's settle this for once and for all.

Your cult leader, Gaben, is NOT a charitable individual who is buying yachts/yachting companies to "do research". He is buying yachts to PAY LESS TAXES.

Directly from Forbes itself:

>On Friday, President Trump signed the Big Beautiful Bill Act into law
>makes corporate boats and jets 100% tax-deductible the same year they are purchased
>“I do have clients who, every year, were buying a $10 million boat to get a $10 million tax deduction and then converting the boat to personal use the next year.”
>He figures that more billionaires will take advantage of the provision going forward.

In simpler terms, it means that if you make for example 10 billion and have to pay 5 billion in taxes... you can instead just buy a yacht for 5 billion and it will be considered as if you paid those taxes. You have to do this every fiscal year, hence why he's buying that many boats.

This settles it for once and for all. Your "Lord Gaben" is nothing but another greedy capitalistic pig. His evaded taxes alone could have saved the Northwestern Coast from the Opioid Crisis.

Feel free to idolize him, feel free to defend him, it's your choice. But for god's sake stop writing asinine shit like "he's such a good guy, he's buying yachts to do marine research... every dollar I give him is going to a good cause!! hurr durr".

We could have had 10 Half-Life 3s so far if you guys just stopped supporting his business model, and actually forced him to release good games like he used to. But no, you just kept paying and paying and paying without ever thinking.

No wonder the industry sucks today, when customers are proud paypigs with the lowest standards in terms of gaming quality.

Anyway, the main point was to remind the Valve Drones their owner is not the cuddly Santa Claus they think he is.

For more info, go on the IRS website and search for "One Big Beautiful Bill Act".

Okay but steam is like the one service/social media/storefront that isn't actively engaging in enshittification

>replies within 1-2 minutes of a post that contains dense content and a Forbes article on tax legislation

Damn, the Valve bots/shills are working overtime today.

I'd rather someone become a multi-billionaire because he's providing me with video games than some dude physically exploiting people in his warehouse

Don't you want someone to become a billionaire creating games, instead of selling someone else's games and getting a 30% cut? The 30% cut here serves nothing but the owner's greed. It could instead go into the devs pockets to make better games.

Why do you make the same thread every day?
