You know how people use the term "industry plant" a lot for random indie games that get a ton of glowing press coverage out of nowhere lately? That was how I felt about Celeste. It seemed like a fine enough game from what I saw of it, but the fact it went from something I had never heard of at all to a household name overnight was bizarre and didn't feel organic at all. This is not to say it couldn't have possibly won it's accolades based solely on the strength of its gameplay, but it made me suspicious. Doesn't really matter ultimately, I was never going to buy it regardless. Not because of some retarded antitrans nonsense, I just think it's one of the ugliest games I've ever seen.
