Sometimes you get lucky and get both students in the 100 free rolls, other times you have to double-spark, but when you get lucky you're already saving a bunch. Not rolling impulsively also helps. Over time you will accumulate a healthy amount of pyros in case a valuable standard or your beloved wife's alt suddenly comes out.
