Playing Legends now. The controls and physics are ass. Sometimes I start moving normally. Other times the character acts like they got launched from a catapult. Sometimes a midair attack sends me hurtling forward. Sometimes it stalls me out into a fall. I can never trust my character to behave the same way twice, and the scripted levels are a coin flip on whether I end up in the right spot at the right time.

>>740254253Shit like this takes away from the schizophrenic nature of Rayman's world, every entry to the series felt like its own thing and it felt almost impossible to actually map out the continent due to how wacky and abstract the game could get at times. Which is not to say that every mainline Rayman game essentially functioning as a reboot was necessarily a good thing, but having a generic map like this is way, way worse.

Rayman Legends Retold doesn't look like it is straying from the previous art style too much. But it is trying to be less stylistic and more like the 1995 Rayman style. The new look could be preferred? The original art still looks really good. It has a different tone and look to it. Less messy in many ways.
