I usually had a good party though, as I don't have fondness for the weak but plucky classes so everyone does what they're supposed to do well. Now, navigation itself can be a drag for 1-3 but I found the encounters to be largely toothless. It's not until the post 4 games that I find myself straining to beat encounters. I was actually taken aback playing 1 for the first time with Remastered (having started in the 3ds era) when I encountered iron crabs and they DIDN'T annihilate my party.
