Sell me on your waifu-pals. I don't care about stats, so decide based purely on aestethics.

Lunaris and Solenne are already included and non-negotiable, although I am unsure about three others.
Spider and Gloopie are worth taking a look at, Icelyn is somewhere there too. And I do love Bellanoir's beam effect and spinning animation, but don't exactly like her model.

Also vg thread is seemingly dead so I assume you all hang around here. I have no fucking clue about usual /v/ drama because I've been playing since release and building a waifu team for 1.0 tryhardmode restart.

I frickin love large, voluminous dresses. Alpha Elizabee being so tall the player only goes up to her knees is also a huge plus. I like how she's one of the only Pals that just natrually wields a weapon. I like to headcannon that Elizabee is a gentle giant towards anyone who is not a threat to her hive or her Beegardes. I love how she pets you back when you try to pet her. I wish she and Beegarde got a fraction of the amount of personality and detail they gave to Sekhmet. That and more polys for their asses and legs.

Wait, that sounds awesome, I have to check that.
Even if I won't include her in a roster, is an auto-pick for a medical room duty. Probably with beegrade as a dedicated med bench crafter.
Any other "unique" pet interactions like that? Most pals are either lean in, or shy away until they are happy.

I figured I'd give it a go, Nox is piss easy to condensemaxx anyway.

Seems to have a 300 unit radius, bit unsure of how exactly it works as it has both a "usage time" and a cooldown, the icons stay marked for about 45-60 seconds (generally until it's back off cooldown). It doesn't seem to update beyond the cast point however, but the icns will return to the radar if you go out of and into range.

Very very useful for Japland and other dense locations, for the sparser mainland not so much. I easily picked up 10 Herbil statues without even trying which is not the Lifmunk's I'm looking for but as a glider pretty slick.

You have a Pet action on Radian Wheel and every pal performs a different animation in the process. Majority pals either are into being touched or are awkward about it, then they smile happily. I am not even sure if that's the same smile as "task finished" pose, actually.

I've been eyeing Majax for a while because being fire+shadow makes her ridiculously resistant versus a lot of common elements while being vulnurable to things you almost never meet in the wild (there are barely any non-fodder water pals besidew few obvious spoilers and dragon pals are all mostly during controlled encounters).

On topic of fire pals though - why are all fire active skills so fucking shit? I strongly believe that a fucking gobfin ignis is probably highest dps fire pal in the game, just leave him with his basic bitch spit and 2.5x multiplier will do miracles.

Just started playing, got to level 50, have some questions for you anons:
>Can I safely turn the pals in base up to 20 (from 15) if I'm playing alone, or will it rape my performance?
>I feel like the shields don't help too much and even with the best one I can make (Hyper Shield), enemy pal attacks still seem to drop it in one hit. Is that normal?
>Player damage is mostly a meme, right? Even with guns, I'm doing fuckall, even hitting the weak points on enemy pals at my level.
>Am I retarded for using up my lower level palballs on 10% capture chances, or should I only be using the higher level ones?
>I should just have a mining base instead of doing the mining for ore myself, right? (I can bring a pal to lower ore weight and a pal to help with mining, and I come back with a few hundred ores from each trip, but it seems like I'm doing it wrong)
>Is there a way to turn off stuff at the base? Like if I have a stone quarry and a coal quarry, can I turn off the stone quarry so pals don't go try to use it?
>for the base, is it better to have a pal who is really good at only one thing (like watering, planting, mining), or a pal that's ok at a bunch of things?

Might think of some more. Pretty fun game, I will say. And Lovander a cute.

>Can I safely turn the pals in base up to 20 (from 15) if I'm playing alone, or will it rape my performance?
Pals on base barely affect that, unless you are barely holding it.
>I feel like the shields don't help too much and even with the best one I can make (Hyper Shield), enemy pal attacks still seem to drop it in one hit. Is that normal?
Shields fucking suck without that one single deer pal whose name I don't remember which makes them cooldown twice as fast and literally take 5x more damage. They are your anti-oneshot protection at best.
>Player damage is mostly a meme, right? Even with guns, I'm doing fuckall, even hitting the weak points on enemy pals at my level.
Player has stronger damage output than any other pal besides maybe the most ridiculously bred top pals, and even then I have doubts, given new shit 1.0 have added. It's not just possible but completely trivial to complete the game without summoning pals at all, just by using them as passive boosters with their partner skills/traits.
>I should just have a mining base instead of doing the mining for ore myself, right? (I can bring a pal to lower ore weight and a pal to help with mining, and I come back with a few hundred ores from each trip, but it seems like I'm doing it wrong)
Well, it depends, few really well leveled miners can solve your needs trough quarry alone so they won't warrant a new base. You will need resource bases later on anyway, though.
>for the base, is it better to have a pal who is really good at only one thing (like watering, planting, mining), or a pal that's ok at a bunch of things?
Specialists are op, skill levels scale like crazy so reaching 10 makes your pal ridiculously good at performing a task, and you better not distract that pal with some mundane shit, leaving it to other pals. Books are rare after all.
>>

>Can I safely turn the pals in base up to 20 if I'm playing alone, or will it rape my performance?

yes
>Is there a way to turn off stuff at the base?
just use the monitoring stand
>for the base, is it better to have a pal who is really good at only one thing or a pal that's ok at a bunch of things?
the former, and use the the monitoring stand to restrict pal activities as well
>>
>>743242987
>turn the pals in base up to 20
You didn't beat the game, limit is there for a reason, condense, optimize, building boosts and use books if you want to make stuff faster

>I feel like the shields don't help too much and even with the best one I can make (Hyper Shield), enemy pal attacks still seem to drop it in one hit. Is that normal?
By design, it can tank one strong hit or a few weak ones, you can just use starting shield to tank one hit and it won't make that much of a difference

>Player damage is mostly a meme, right?
No, 100% skill issue on your part, with right build you can solo bosses without using pals at all

>Am I retarded for using up my lower level palballs on 10% capture chances, or should I only be using the higher level ones?
Is your time free?
Throw some pals to produce this shit for you and stop throwing dozens of spheres hoping one sticks

>I should just have a mining base instead of doing the mining for ore myself, right?
Bro, you got to level 50 mining yourself, are you a runescape player?
Pal are supposed to work for you, not the other way around

>>Is there a way to turn off stuff at the base?
Monitoring stand, you can assign pals and disable specific work types

>for the base, is it better to have a pal who is really good at only one thing (like watering, planting, mining), or a pal that's ok at a bunch of things?
Depends, usually specialist is better but some works like medicine making are so infrequent you don't need a specialist and it's nice to have a few pals that can haul or do something else in their free time
Also you can have a pal that is maxed out on multiple things
>>
>>743242987

Thanks for the answers, anons. Some follow ups:
>pals at base
Ok, I'll keep it at 15. If I replay it at some point in the future, I'll go full retard and crank it up to 30 or smth
>player damage is strong
I'm using Meowmere for melee and the best semi-auto rifle I can build and my damage feels anemic, and getting into melee against enemy pals is begging to get me 1-shot. Is there just some specific weapon I'm not using that does better damage at level 50?
>mining
It's been quick enough to just find one of those fast travel points near a bunch of ore boulders, crush those down with my two helper pals, then go back to base and dump the ore. I guess those locations (lots of ore boulders) are where you'd put a mining base and just stuff it with mining pals?

Oh, another question:
>I've been sitting on those skill fruits and skill books because my RPG brain tells me to save them for later, better pals. Am I fucking that up? Should I be using them as soon as I find them?
>>
>>743243848
>I'm using Meowmere for melee and the best semi-auto rifle I can build and my damage feels anemic, and getting into melee against enemy pals is begging to get me 1-shot. Is there just some specific weapon I'm not using that does better damage at level 50?
It's not that. You are looking at it completely wrong. First of all, player damage needs to actually scale. It comes from multipliers that add quite quickly.
1) There are pals with pal abilities that make you stronger. I won't name them for spoiler reasons but some of them give you 50 to 80% increased damage. Same goes with Vanguard (10% attack) trait which you could easily have 5 in your team, as they stack.
2) After that you will also have to max out your own attack trough potions/levels, and use the most high-tier weapon you can.
3) Weapons have rarity tiers, and damage you get from higher rarity is a multiplier therefore really important too.
4) You can alter your attack element trough specific pals, either by using their ability or by riding them, which acts as a 2x damage multiplier versus matching element.
>>
>>743243848
>I've been sitting on those skill fruits and skill books because my RPG brain tells me to save them for later, better pals. Am I fucking that up? Should I be using them as soon as I find them?
Well that's a complicated topic that mostly refers to your aethethic case. Skill books specifically are meant to used on a pal you want to keep at your base. With 20 or 30 slots you will end up with many looks-preferred pals, assuming you can shove enough books to raise their respective work speciality to 10. Overall Palworld endgame is building yourself a base full of pals you enjoy looking at, with quite a few qol base buff pals sitting along (which aren't even that required, profession level 10 is just that op)
>>
>>743244130
Ohh, ok, so it's mostly a pals give you passive buffs that make your damage not suck thing that gets the biggest returns. I've mostly been bringing pals based on utility they provide (like flying mount, improved mining/logging/etc, item detection, etc.)

>>743244267
Huh, ok. I think the progression cap is 80, so I might as well just start using them I guess.
>>
>>743243848
Meowmere at level 50, is it at least better than normal?
You need something better, preferably epic or better if you luck out with schematics

Furthermore as the other anon stated, it's all about stacking bonuses, it takes a lot of effort to set up a build with high damage, it's much easier to just use pals for that
Also level your HP and upgrade your gear if you die really easily, it makes a big difference for you survivability

>>
>>743244464
Meowmare felt like it performed better than normal melee, because it shits out flying kitty attack particles that give it a damage boost.

The missing point for me was the 'stacking bonuses,' which I didn't even realize since most the pals I found had shit like +10% melee damage, which seemed negligible unless I was running a whole roster full of them.

>level your HP and upgrade gear
My gear is ok, but mostly just for environmental survivability. I've been biasing toward Carry Weight and Stamina.

Yeah I will have to mention, due to the way pals work in this game, even most basic bitch pal with decent pal stats (they aren't equal, and there's RNG) and at least two good traits will mow down everything for you besides tower bosses where you might have to bring proper element or 2-3 pals like that. With player it won't be as straightforward.
While we've been telling you that players absolutely can are stronger than a single pal, it's a long road of collecting pieces (accessories, pal team setup with plenty of lategame pals being a huge boost, pal condensing, pal party traits, attack potion grinding, legendary gear recipe grinding) for you to hit that spot. Although besides recipes most of those things are a single "do and forget" checkboxes that leave you pernanently stronger, so its just different kind of progression. And yes you can have both ridiculous pal and 4 support pals for the player, it's the strongest composition obviously.

Right but the way Anon worded
>or shy away until they are happy
made me wonder if there's actually two states for pal responses since I know on my 600+ day server, pals turn to smile with little rainbows every time they finish a task and I cannot recall if they are doing that on my fresh 1.0 server. I was wondering if, separate from trust and SAN, they start reacting more positively at some point.

>Can I safely turn the pals in base up to 20 (from 15) if I'm playing alone, or will it rape my performance?
Depends on your rig but having 10 bases and 50 pals at each base wasn't an issue for me. You can also have viewing cages that each can hold 40 pals and have those pals loaded and rendered walking around in the cages and I was able to fill around 20 of those cages in one area before my FPS started dropping from 120+ to around 30

PSA for anyone grinding Arena
Lyleen, Petelia, and Teafant's heal effects your entire arena party. At endgame, Lyleen has an on-demand full heal for the party and yourself effectively giving all your Pals a second HP bar.
>Diamond Body
>Immortal
>Idiosyncratic
>Serenity

Moveset (For Lyleen)
>Bountiful Protection
>Seed Mine
>Wind Burst

Set Details:
This is a support set, she is not built for damage. Seed Mine is a low CD AoE that inflicts Ivy and provides some area denial. It's damage isn't great, but it's more like setting a trap for teammates with big fire damage. Wind Burst hits stupidly hard even without attack investment.

Good team mates:
>Any fire types, but Dupin, Moldron, and Blazamut go apeshit.
>Needoll for bonus damage against Ivy, allowing the above fire Pals to hit for insane modifiers.

Meta slop
>Orserk

Situational Teammates:
>Elphidran Aqua has an AoE pull, homing dragon tornadoes, and whatever else you want. Reduces incoming fire damage by 40%, effectively removing Lyleen's fire weakness.
>Shaolong are more offensive option over Elphidran, but Elphidran looks better on the team.
>Big boy Aegidron, he's Palworld's Garchomp. Basically can go on any team so I should probably put him in metaslop but he's cool and I like him.

Nah, it's just for Pet Action, different pals have different animations like hugging you back (don't remember which one does that), leaning into touch, or giving a shy face, then at the end of the pat animation they all give you a happy expression regardless.

Also yeah, having maxed out pals that instantly finish the task really takes away from the experience. If there are settings that lower work efficiency I might do something like "less work efficiency, more resource yield" so I could at least see wtf my well-bred pals are doing.
Like that new flower pal which globably boosts gardening actually does crazy hammer whirlding spin when she does handicraft job.

But yeah in my first run I've also had a busted Lyleen paradise. Lily would probably literally became my sex slave if she just glimpsed upon how glorious it was.

Why is oil farming such a pain in the fucking ass

They really should not have given flying mounts to player before level 50 or something. That's a self-imposed restriction I use for a while unless I do a really quick endgame run.

I mean, it's my fault, I type like a retared.
By the way, in the arena, does she still triggers heal based on her own health, or does she monitor any ally below the threshold?
I assume her own as that's probably how its coded, but since you've tried that setup, confirmation would be nice.

Its slow and takes a ton of electricity. Before 1.0 to run a three pump oil farm took me like 6 orserks with a power supply to keep it running almost continously.

Keep in mind it was 6 orders at best, really it was 3 or 4 with like 4manual wheels for the not elec pals that ran the farm or what not. At one point I was just putting Capris and wooliepops in a ranch to try and avoid a farm. Worked okay when I put a mozzillia and cooked the milk in like batches of 100.

Different anon - Counterpoint: it's a sandbox base building game and the problem is I want more pals at my base at all times because pals are cool and I want to see them. And having the reward for capturing cool pals being able to see those cool pals working you base with your other cool pals is just cool and good.

Tbh, just adding more pals is nice but you still need to interact with the other mechanics and really manage your base. Just flinging more pals at the problem doesn't really fix your logistics, you still have to spend the time setting up the base right and assigning pals properly, condensing etc.
There is already so much stuff to do in this game, it's real easy to start losing focus when getting pulled 10 different ways, more pals doesn't change that and instead you get to focus the entire core point of the game: Pals.
I have like 3 bases stuffed full of pals and I still have to grit my teeth and force myself to put in the work to overcome logistics for the next new line of tech and gear.

No, the problem with the resource miner things is that it's very slow to get anything and you'd need a Pal with extremely high mining/woodcutting assigned to it 24/7 to make it worthwhile, all to spend the day gaining less material than if you just got some yourself. And theeeennn you need another pal to carry in to storage, come on.

>Do Pals still stop
Nope. Pic related is my small coal mining outpost 7 pals is more than enough to keep the entire thing running and feeding my guild chest coal. If you don't have a guild chest you can just stop by every hour or so and grab it all out of a chest as it passively collects in the background. I set my world to 10 bases per guild so using one for coal was a no brainer. You could do the same with any resource that can be mined.

I think making a passive yugioh-card build could still be good, but, well bred pals are SO much better now that I agree, it's just not the way the wind is blowing.
I made a Surfent before release and global boxed it, Legend, Swift, King of the Waves, and Ace Swimmer, 4 star condensed, 90+ IVs, 100 in Attack. No trust, besides what has built naturally in this playthrough, I think it's up to 4.
Not even really MEANT for combat, and Surfent isn't exactly a great pal to begin with, and that fucker has been consistently punching upwards to the tune of 10, 15 levels. It has only died once to the combat drones on the nature preserves, and has only dropped below half when testing it against things like 20, 25 levels above.
I imagine a proper, combat focused pal might be swinging 20 levels above.

I haven't gotten into mutations, new passives, or anything 1.0 specific yet, but.
Quite a bit easier.
You need to breed enough dupes to condense anyways that you are, in my experience, virtually guaranteed to get the godroll of traits + good enough IVs.
With two breed farms dedicated to the task, and a max condense Braloha to watch them fuck, getting a "good enough" breed, starting from not even having the pal, takes maybe 45 minutes, but most of that is passive waiting time you can spend doing other shit.
Legend and Demon God/Swift are really the only things you need to breed for, the troon table handles everything else, grinding for the good implants takes maybe two hours.
Maxing IVs takes a bit longer, but you can probably grind enough fruit in the time it takes to breed your dupes.
Moves were the motherfucker, requiring specialized, no-work bases, and funny inbreeding circles to improve odds until you get it, maybe like an hour and a half. Getting Double Ice Spike on Sibelyx, for example, resulted in me having two max condensed Sibelyx, one with and one without.

The 1.0 additions, I have no idea, but they seem more like bastards. Skills you can't Yakumo or implant, and I haven't seen a Mutation in the 20 or so eggs I've gotten from casual breeding so far, so, that might be a bitch. We shall see.
>>
>>743238092
>when they see your meat

>>743252147
i just seems that some materials are needed constantly like oil and fire organs. i started breeding and catching so i can condense them. other than that i don't know how many i need them to have reasonable output of resources. i don't need mega fast production, but default lv 1 ranchers with small boost are super slow.

>>
>>743252270
Individual farms works the best. It takes maybe 4 pals, some of which you likely already use, to make enough salads to fuel a base forever.
Manual transport sounds nice on paper, but means your base collapses rather suddenly if you get distracted and they run out. Wheras in-house salads, you can slap a thousand on a stove, set that bitch to auto-transport. And even if they run out, they'll just mostly stop working and eat lettuce, instead of starving and getting sick

>>
>>743252619
I've gotten a few.
The negotiator shows up, and tries to shake you down for some pocket change, with an iirc 5 minute ultimatum timer. If you just shoot/capture them, it triggers the raid instantly.
That said, of my two bases, one in a pretty vanilla spot on the early game island, next to Mammorest, and one on the ore spot next to Chillet, the one near Chillet has never gotten raids.
So, it's probably back to being really fussy about finding a pathing route from some arbitrary raid start zone, to your palbox like it was closer to the original ea release.

So, you can't have jobs auto que, unfortunately, but most work stations have a little box (iirc on controller, it's X or Y that toggles it) that allows pals to take items from the station, to wherever it should be stored.
So, making an enormous workload job, like 500 of whatever the bases primary food is, and ticking that box means your base is effectively fed for the next few hours.

Yes, except if you ever get distracted, the base with no food production completely collapses, and pals will need medicine to recover, versus production merely slowing because pals are eating ingredients, and a focused food production base functionally is less efficient, because it's an entire base that COULD be doing something else, instead of a few extra pals across all bases, that probably help out whatever that base was doing during crop down time anyways.

I've tried both ways, and having each base make its own food is less of a headache in the long run.

Your hitbox still exists on the pal, attacks that hit you, apply to you.
Pals where the mounting point is either well behind their body, or very far off the ground are much more safe as mounts.
I have noticed attacks are generally better at tagging a rider in 1.0, but the same principle applies.
Big, beefy bodies that completely cover you from the front and/or sides like Quivern, or that hold you far off the center mass of the pal, like Jormuntide, are much, much safer than pals that hold you front and center, or uncovered on top,.or close to the ground where any ground sweeping or originating attacks still hit you.

In my experience, not accounting for new 1.0 options I haven't played with, an Alpha Quivern is one of the safest mounts in the game. The huge wings and tail catch a lot of attacks from the sides and rear, the body is large to protect from the front, and you're high enough off the ground that a lot of ground originating attacks don't reach.
Jormuntide is also pretty safe.
Bear in mind, both of these are very large bodies, so THEY will take a lot of extra hits. Jormuntide at least, there's a bit of movement tech you can do with it, to juke attacks with perpendicular movement patterns, but it's almost always a tradeoff. There's no particularly safe, smaller mount. Besides maybe non-alpha Frostallion, which, between the long horse torso and wings, is a pretty secure canopy from projectiles at least.

I've been playing on public official servers. Is the idea that I can use a global palbox to send any awesome pals from these pubs to my private world to keep forever? It doesn't seem like a lot of servers let you bring pals in from outside. I haven't played in a long time so I never used the global palbox.
>>
>>743254783
Depends
For small pals, it's almost always worth it. The change it hitbox is negligible, and any Alpha pal becomes immune to trampling. For small pals with melee skills like Cattiva and Fuack, I'd actually consider it mandatory. It also improves the odds of hitting airborne pals.
For most mounts, I would also say it's worth it, with a few exceptions. Some of the smallest mounts, like Direhowl, Tarantriss, Ragnahawk, exc, can pull off some insane jukes and dodges while smaller, so for them specifically, being small is usually better. Frostalion is a notable case where I think non-alpha is better, where a lot of the peculiarities of how the model is built come together into something that's small "enough" to still be evasive, but has good anatomy to protect you still. Most other mount pals, I think it's net neutral, or positive to be Alpha. The move speed bonus alone means they're better for flat out movement, and them taking more damage is usually less important than you taking less, since your durability is much more often the problem, not your pals.

For non-mount pals, that aren't trample size, usually the answer is no. The 10% health bonus they get is invalidated the second they take an extra hit, and the increased movement speed is similarly invalidated by being an easier target. This applies much more if the pal is a "nimble" type, there's not really a good way to identify this at the moment, I mean pals like Anubis who will deliberately jump and sidestep to avoid shit. They should NEVER be Alpha, since they actually do succeed at evasion a good amount of the time, and that fucks with them.
Knocklem is maybe the one exception to this, since Knocklem is such a large target anyways, he ain't dodging shit, and the bonus HP actually might make the difference between pulling him in early, and fully cashing out his active. The addition of Hit ID limits for moves like Holy Burst cement this, since a large Pal can't get fukkin gaped by attacks like that now

The addition of real time combat does that lmao
I mean, I'd consider there to be two entirely different lists of move viability, just based on whether the pal is intended to be a primary mount or not.
Your basic projectile blasts are almost useless on non-mount pals, especially now that move cooldowns are so short, but a good, consistent projectile is fantastic if you're aiming it, and even having two to machine gun them is a good idea. Similarly, the melee burst attacks are pretty bad on most pals that don't have the unique attacks required for a full melee build, but are pretty good on mounts, since jumping into groups makes sense.
In the flip side, a lot of higher end attacks are annoying to manually aim, with pretty high skill floors, that pals auto-aim successfully nearly 100% of the time. And I haven't tried in 1.0 yet, but some skills have stra ge behavior when manually aimed, like Ice Missile just not working if your pal is above a certain size, since the projectiles hit the pal using it, which doesn't happen if they use it by themselves

There's not many fights to do it, unfortunately, but fighting on the water with a swimming pal is legitimately the most hype shit. Infinite stamina, you fukkin ZOOM on a reasonably bred Jormuntide or Surfent, or have crazy aerial mobility if using a Neptilus. High end water attacks are all massive AOEs, but you can actually dodge them, because you are hauling so much ass.
I'm genuinely sad there aren't many fights to do this, it's so much fun. Naval pvp is on my dream list for this game.
As it is, though, mounted pal combat is easily the best way to mass genocide an area while farming drops or catch bonuses, and getting a feel for a particular pal's speed and physics, how to aim and get the most out of particular attacks, it's really something. I've been using a shitty poison bow, almost exclusively for captures, as my only weapon the entire game, because mounted combat is just so satisfying in palworld.

No idea on Blazehowl. I know his ever gay hole is where Quivern's used to be. But I don't think I've actually seen one. I've seen a few Nocts on the volcano island, I think, but, I can't be certain I'm not conflating older memories, since usually Blazehowl isn't on my radar.

They need to add an option to decide priority for a pal's work.
For example, you have a kindling pal.
You have some cake to bake, some ores to smelt, and some research to grind.

You go to this new option in the monitoiring stand, which then lets you order what workstation/work types to prioritize, or chose "prioritize recent"

So i can have my kindling pal now go baking 1, smelting 2, research 3, and they will always prioritize the first, unless it's already in use. You can even de-prioritize stations so they never go over to it.

>but what about fixed assignments?
when you have multiple stations, nah not great. Too much micromanaging and tossing pals at stations.

Say I have another pal. This one, I can set to recent-- so he will do the most recent ingredient/ore to kindle, and the other pal will move to whatever is the next highest priority workstation.

This would help so much. Time and time again you get pals standing around and doing things that aren't as important, or constantly task-switching the moment you fire up another workstation.
>>
>>743257371
They want you to catch them, anon. Let your guard down, bring them real close.

Breeding
>>
>>743257530
Yeah a priority setting would definitely do wonders.
>>
>>743257530
Agree
Custom priorities for each pal, and limited conditional labor ques would be ideal.
Things like, if container X has under/over Y number of items, repeat task Z, so bases can reliably feed themselves, or smelt ore without intervention.
Would also help keep certain pals on task, since freezer pals in particular seem very prone to "forgetting" their labor assignment or work allowances, and having to be paranoid about if my freezer is working defeats the point

Temp only affects you, and egg times.
Pals are perfectly happy living in blizzards and next to lava with equal non-concern.
Frankly, I wish this wasn't the case, pals had preferred temperature ranges that would get them reduced san decay, and extremes would increase san decay, but besides being an entire extra set of stats, heaters and coolers are awkward enough that it's probably for the best that it doesn't work that way.
>>
>>743258036
yeah, that cooler tech is what got me thinking you had to regulate their temps
>>
>>743257530
The game needs to borrow a lot more from other games while it's at it. Work priorities like Rimworld which has the exact kind of thing you just described, production and research queueing from RTSs, maybe some logic autism from Minecraft and Factorio. Survival crafting games is a very Western genre and not something that's very popular with Nips, so they probably aren't that familiar with how to make these. They really need to do their homework if they want to keep making games like this.

>>743258149
Yeah
Maybe as a toggle.
Since, in practice it would also mean certain pals can't really cohabitate the same bases, which conflicts with maximum comfy base building.
But, it would be fun to have to consider it, I think, as well as come up with workarounds, or identifying otherwise niche pals that can perform a particular task under unusual temperatures. How many pals that can kindle, like cold temperatures, for example.
Maybe if we're already shooting for the moon, incorporate the costumes into this, cold weather gear actually does increase how much cold a particular pal can take.

Your options for surgery are really limited though, isn't it? Is there a good way to get the best implants?
>>
>>743259054
No. They added a couple of pals that jump up like a little fish but nothing spooky and no attackers.
>>
>>743259054
No
>>
How does the breeding system work? If I have a pal with X ability is the child going to have a high probability of having the same ability? How hard is it to get 4 good abilities bred into one pal?
>>
>103 degrees outside
>73 inside

yeah I'm staying inside Palworlding all day.
>>
May have been asked already, but what other Pals get their abilities boosted from being Alpha? Pic related: Alpha
>>
>>743250963
how does the vanilla game do it, since every glider pal changes the glider's design
>>
>>743259062
There's better implants at the arena and bounty office (maybe also the dog coin guy, I forget)
They're not best in slot or anything, but they're better than putting random higher tier skills on pals.
Serenity might still genuinely be the best trait in the game, assuming there's not a higher tier version of it now. It's SO much more dps
>>
>>743259054
I have the same problem. I can't play ocean games because it scares the shit out of me
>>
>>743259343
Huh
Never noticed that before
Maybe I poke around later and see

I didn't know alphas had bigger numbers in their passives, too.

Wouldn't your computer heat up your room instead?
>>
>>743259054
No, but I hope they do because I want more cool leviathan pals

>palworld
>making your computer heat your room
wtf are you playing on, a Dell Optiplex?
>>
Is Palworld fun? Does it make doing raid bosses solo unreasonable?
>>
>>743259680
Majority of people play solo.
Palworld is very fun.

Assuming nothing has changed
When pals breed, it first rolls to grab a trait from a parent, then rolls for which parent, then rolls for a slot. If a skill is grabbed twice, the skill you already grabbed randomizes and you don't get it.
In abstract theory, your best odds come from 2 parents, both with exactly 2 of the desired traits, but it's functionally not that much more rare than just one with all 4, and a parent with none. The main thing is limiting unwanted skills in the pairing.
Getting a godroll of 4 traits IS pretty difficult, out of the previous 110 or so pals needed for a full condense, getting 2-4 was pretty normal, but in practice, you usually only need 2 or 3 traits inherited, and the rest come from the table. With those odds, ending up with a dozen viable pals isn't uncommon.
Now, there's more skills to breed for, but also the improved cakes, niether of which I know how they work yet, so no idea :3

Alpha pals really should have higher jumps. My alpha chillet struggles with the smallest of rocks.
>>
>>743259712
this.
palworld overall is a good game to play by yourself
>>

Always solo or PVE servers.
Are there niggers out there playing actual pvp?
>>
>>743259535
I have AC

No idea if 1.0 rebalanced them, but raid bosses were pretty miserable solo before. Anything past Blazamutt Ryu basically required legions of autistically bred, minmaxed pals. Bellanoir & Libero were pretty easy to just muscle past, Blazamutt Ryu required some modest breedmaxxing. But Xenolord and Hartalis basically mandate a solid 40, 50 hours of dedicated preparation
But they were the only content like that.

Does anyone play hard mode
>>
>>743259990
Sorta?
I play a mix
I like the vibe of combat in hard, but like better harvest gains, instant eggs, faster player regen, and bigger base sizes.

Yes, with my two friends, it can be brutal when you are going solo

>>743257878
That's why I play alone.

Only PvP worth a damn is arena with house rules. World PvP is a joke, and if anyone griefs you just start a Bellanoir Liberio raid right next to their base.
>>
>>743260165
Yeah, raids as a means to nuke bases emerged pretty quickly in my friend group's pvp games, too. Which is really funny, in its own way

It is neat that stress tactics actually work in Palworld though. Not many games allow this.
Keep pestering a base, all the pals go eat after bombarding you, and blow through food surprisingly quickly, then they all go insane.
Personally, I'm also a fan of clogging workload and inventory with trash. There's no way to filter pals from picking shit up, so hovering over a base, and slowly dropping obscure garbage and mountains of wood/rocks onto it to fill inventory space, to create a sorting hazard later is a surprisingly decent way to disrupt someone, too.

At least it's a cute art

>All this wood usage
Do we use this much fucking wood in real life?
Holy shit.
