There was no avatarfaggotry, and it had some cool as villains like the Black Knight. Worst thing you can say about PoR is that it was pretty easy, that's about it. Most of what people shit on Path of Radiance for they're really shitting on Radiant Dawn which had a lot more rough edges but was still a cool game in its own right. But just not as tightly or neatly designed as path of radiance but had some neat stuff of its own. When people whine about the lengthy enemy turn animations and what have you yeah that's a Radiant Dawn issue, not PoR. People also like to seethe over those games as if they're the reason Fire Emblem died when that was more on Nintendo for their inability to market it on the Gamecube and the Gamecube just being a flop in general. PoR was not a graphically intensive game so it didn't really have that going for it. The best marketing it got was from Smash Bros Brawl, but by that time it was already too late for FE9 and 10, then IS would fumble with the poorly received DS remake which almost led to the death of the series. People try to pretend that the series died because FE9 was somehow shit, but most who played it tend to remember it fondly.
