Most of them are slight improvements to the original, and mathematically being a dual type is always better. You gain one weakness, and two resistances (except Normal)
I think the only debatable case that was a downside was Suzaku Aqua, since Suzaku could fly over lava, and Suzaku Aqua could not, but that was changed, now anything can safely fly over lava.
Maybe Chillet Ignis, but that's more because Ice/Dragon typing is goated for dealing with late game content

If you aren't looking for a particular resource, the best place for a base is just something that you think is aesthetically pleasing.

>>
>>743311930
electric is severely lacking and the by far coolest electric pal is hyper late game, it's not a great option unless you really wanna fuck dazzi
neutral might feel odd because you have no crits and there's a lot of darks, but there's a surprising amount of neutrals that pack a punch and cremis is a super early neutral booster (and cute)
i feel like people could accidentally stumble upon making a dark monotype team because there's so many dark pals, definitively the most flexible option

Without going to the tree or breeding, how the fuck do i get Dupin? I have only seen 2 screenshots showing spawn locations and 1 was at the church that isnt even marked as a spawn point. Ive been looping above the duolith island for hundreds of laps, gliding back and forth from duneshelter, and never seen anything. This is the spot I am checking since it is closest to the center of the spawn indicator.

Is this game good solo or should I join a server? Is there a /v/ server?
>>
>>743312324
>>743312336
Oh.
>>
>>743311551
1. Base stats. You can look these up somewhere, every pal has a base value for each of Attack, Defense, and HP.
2. IVs. Every individual pal has a range from 0-100 for each of these same stats. The ability glasses are the only way to explicitly see these, and ability fruit improves them. They have a pretty massive impact in pal performance, for being something you basically can't see for most of the game.
3. Passives. These were totally overhauled for 1.0, so make sure you're actually reading what your guys do. Some of these have pretty substantial impacts on pal performance, including from other party members. You might be carrying a 10% boost for a particular type or something from another pal
4. Traits. Pretty self explanatory, but these have a pretty big difference between a pal with whatever, and a very lucky/well bred pal.
5. Moves. Some moves are simply better than others. 1.0 rebalanced a lot of moves, I couldn't tell you which are good anymore, but I imagine imbalances still remain
6. Soul investment. You almost assuredly haven't accidentally invested in someone. But it's a pretty substantial stat difference all the same, on par with perfect traits
7. Condensation. The little stars. You also almost assuredly haven't accidentally done this. But, this interacts with their passives, which can further separate good pals.
8. Trust. It's less impactful for higher end pals, but is always a source of more statbrick. It torques the fuck out of low tier pals like Cattiva, and especially low stat, high attack pals like Fuack and Fuddler.
>>
>>743312437
Do it solo, I doubt you'll find a consistent server to keep your progress on.

I think it's because pals are generally organic and making machine-like pals doesn't fit the artstyle or game design. They already have machines and the machines are not pals. Whereas in Pokemon a lot of electric types are or are based on machines or objects. It's better for the game and the pal design but limits the amount of electric types, and the ones that do exist are mostly "yellow animal"

It's definitely the most neglected type.
Electric, Rock, Fire, and Water were all pretty neglected at one point or another.
Water was mostly fixed by the small islands and fishing update, Fire was mostly fixed by 1.0.
Electric and Rock are still somewhat neglected, (though I have run into quite a few interesting 1.0 pals, it nay be borderline now) but Electric has it significantly worse.
Bad moves, very limited pal selection, with some of the most restrictive options for labor. Lux versions of other pals are like 80% of the type.
Especially now that the tower boss pals aren't available through standard breeding, so Orserk single handedly carrying the type on his back is harder to get, and means your perfectly bred Orserk from before is now a rare and valuable commodity.

Does everything. Flies, runs and swims (and no stamina loss while swinng even while sprinting) and you can use weapons, throw spheres and even fucking fish while riding it.
Downside is the fucker is slow (outside of the water) normally so you gotta put swift legend and runner on his ass. Also consider king of the waves for maximum swim speed.

In terms of general type development, I think it's
Dark > Dragon > Grass > Ice > Water > Fire > Normal > Rock > Electric

Dark and Dragon are trivial to build monotype teams or even bases out of, there's generally always one of those for anything you want to do. Honestly it's hard to not accidentally have some of these on your team without trying, just because of how numerous and good they are
Grass, Ice, and Water, and maybe Fire, fire's a bit borderline, are all missing certain cross labor pals to make a monotype base possible (actually I think Water can pull it off), but still have a pretty wide selection of pals
Normal, Rock, and Electric are all pretty limited in terms of your selection and options. Normal is a bit odd, because for 90% of the game, the type is downright a liability, you DON'T want it, but the last 10% busted shit like Holy Burst and Celesdir starts cropping up. But, you never "need" the type. Electric is easily the most fucked type, half the moves barely work, your team building options are Orserk, Dazzi, I guess Grizzbolt, and then go fuck yourself with like Penking Lux or something. Rock used to suck a lot more, I'd say even worse, Anubis was literally the only Rock type you should even consider using at release, but it has been drip fed good pals and moves to keep it on life support ever since. Knocklem was a good feather in the cap for the type, and basically put it on the map.

most of that doesn't matter because you don't actually need to build a whole team or think that hard. It's just for fun. Any singular pal can be boosted enough to roll all the game's content. The problem is electric simply doesn't have enough pals so there's not as much variety of designs to take a liking to. so even if you wanted 1 (one) electric pal on your team if you're not into dazzi it's slim pickings.

1.0 made them stop working
>>
>>743313501
Nah
The best pals are ones that are available early, but have qualities that make them good for the rest of the game.
Gobfin Ignis, is a good example of this. Gobfin was raped in 1.0, but it's still handy, and Ignis gets insane damage ramp on Spirit Fire, that turns it into a funny bazooka.
Penking is still the GOAT of holding down a bases labor all by itself, doing most of the important functions of a mining base by itself.
Tarantriss is pretty easily the best ground mount in the game from the moment it becomes available, I think I've seen them in the low 20s. Other things may have it beat in flat out movement speed, but Tarantriss is still very fast, and is evasive as fuck.
With how lucrative islands are now, Surfent is genuinely an incredible pick up early on. It's fast as fuck on the water, and does it for peanuts before level 20.
And so on.
I think Anubis suffered a lot with the breed calculator changes. Used to be trivially easy to breed, Celeray + Relaxaurus, basically the moment you had a cake, you had an Anubis, but alas.

On the one hand, I get it. Uniformity and familiarity in marketing is important, and to be fair, they DID update who was on materials over the course of EA.
Unfortunately, they really didn't change that much. Which, again, I get having a certain continuity of recognizable faces, but, a lot of the mascots aren't very popular, while a lot of pretty popular pals are ghosts as far as marketing is concerned.
I think Jormuntide is one of the better cases of that. Jorm is actually pretty popular and beloved, but I don't think it has been on a single piece of marketing materials.
Lovander is a case of the inverse, but, I do think it makes sense to use it for marketing. It was an early notorious face, so the fact I don't think it is even on the top 10 smash lists of any self respecting pal coomer, people know that one. But, yeah, surprisingly unpopular, but all over marketing.
Grizzbolt is also kinda there. He's front and center on a lot of material, and was the main pal back in the early concept trailer, but I don't think a single person gives a fuck about him, and I have never seen a single person mention him as a pal to actually use, except to breed an Orserk during EA. Meanwhile, Orserk, a pal people actually like and use, is nowhere to be seen.
Cattiva and Depresso were good choices to be on everything though. Early game enough that you point and hoot at the guy on the boxart within 10 minutes, and kinda generically cute.
PP would have had to be insane to let the wave of Chillet hype slip through their fingers, I think Quivern caught a small amount of that as well.

Anon, look at the chest settings. One of the checkboxes is for Ore. That affects all kinds of, including meteorites and coal, because ore is also a category, not just one tiem.
>>
>>743314207
I think so.
I think refrigeratoration and thus spoilage are just sort of code bugbears that they can't easily fix.
Since refrigeration works on a principle of the input work speed reducing the decay rate, that means the decay rate reduction variable needs to be filled at all times, so they can't easily pivot to refrigeration working more like generation, which would make sense. Because they can't do that, refrigeration is stuck eternally being, you sacrifice one base slot to get a lump that never leaves the fridge, never sleeps, rarely eats. You can't really have alternate uses for refrigeration, because your refrigerator cannot leave. They are refridgerating. They added a couple anyways, to have Freezing be not COMPLETELY useless, but, they are just "better" versions of what you can already do with watering. It's still easily the worst labor in the game. Medicine making was almost as bad, but, they added the clinic which is genuinely good.
They would have to completely overhaul the way refrigeration as a work skill functions, which is a lot of development work to have something basically work the same way but better. That same effort, at that point, could be spent making an entirely new labor type.
So, the sort bug, and even moreso just shrugging and putting the option to turn off decay entirely in the settings, is just them throwing in the towel. I wouldn't expect to see it improved until something like a Palworld 2. Maybe not as firmly as underwater content, but in the same boat as it.

#1 most important thing: You love them, be for their work animations on base, or carrying them around as you explore the world or their combat output or just using them as mounts (Ground, water or air)
#2. They excel at stuff as soon as you catch them, you will instantly FEEL the difference between a level 1 handiwork vs a level 4 handiwork like Anubis before doing any kind of condensing or breeding or any sort of autism to buff up stuff
#3, the above but with other niches, especially mounts, once you get real flight, you're not going to need any other mount for a huge chunk of the game (not to say the obvious thing about Jetragon outperforming the entire roster of mounts since this fat fuck is hella late into the game compared to being lv50 in the first early access version = you shouldn't use anything but jetragon, you'll be having fun with all pals before you get that guy's saddle)

Experiment with different pals
Larger bodies and extremities block projectiles, and being high off the ground keeps you safe from grounded attacks. Your hitbox has to be hit to take damage while mounted, and some pals are better at protecting you than others.

I haven't seen the mount animation for Dualith, but just "on top" is relatively unprotected.
Quivern nestles you into having the head above, the wings to the sides, the tail below and behind, and Quivern's fat gut protecting you from the front and below.
Jormuntide leaves you a bit exposed to the sides, only the whiskers occasionally clip projectiles, but you are incredibly well protected from the front and below, and while you're theoretically exposed to the behind, Jormuntide's massive hitbox means they aren't aiming anywhere near you.
And an Aloha Jorm has you so far off the ground, even tornadoes often miss you.

>Powerscaling pokemon vs palworld
No bro, no, pokefags are not ready for the conversation that is Palworld's power numbers.
a basestat of 125 ATK is not the same in both games, palworld's average attack stat at level 50 is like 1000+, the only pokemon that can hit 1000+ attack AT LEVEL 100 on a single swords dance is shit like marowak. Now imagine what a level 80 max condensed pal would do to a pokemon, Verdash, in spite of being at a type disadvantage, would easily clap Cinderace even if Pyro Ball gives it the burn status.
>inb4 but lore
I don't care how much gen 4's legendaries get glazed for being god-like beings, if warhammer 40000 has taught me something, is that not even god can outsmart bullet, and pals got plenty of that. That and if we go by palpedia entries, Bellanoir outscales Arceus

Plus, a lot of Pokemon's highest tier feats are very suspect and dubious. Shit like, Magcargo's body temp, if the numbers were accurate, should be igniting the atmosphere, melting nearby rock, ect. But these things don't ever happen, people outright touch Magcargo all the time.
Gardevoir can make a black hole, but has never actually done this, nobody has ever treated it like it can, nobody looking to commit a crime sees a gardevoir then backs off, ect.
That kind of thing. And power scaling pokemon always ends up relying on those weird, unsubstantiated outliers, or wanking the creation trio to do all kinds of things they also have never been shown to be able to do, just inferred from their titles, roles, ect.
You know, a lot of batman-tier "well he can totally do this, he's just never had to" bullshit.
Fukkin, I think the old Death Battle between Wargreymon and Charizard detailed it well.
Wargreymon is from a setting where nukes are fired, and can be used as a benchmark.
Charizard is a fire breathing manlet lizard.

>>
>>743317803
No.
>>
>>743317103
Because having a type simply has more upsides than downsides.
Being a type gives you
20% more damage with attacks of that type
Two resistances (three if you're Fire)
Type quirks like status immunity or temperature regulation

While only costing you
One weakness
Temperature regulation (occasionally a downside)

Adding Neutral may be a net negative, because it resists nothing, but adds a weakness ro Dark.
Before the Stab for Neutral was worth it, but since Holy Burst is no longer as good as it was, that might not be worth as much.

The meteor launcher was pretty good in EA. Available pretty early, with an easy legendary schematic, and virtually free to make huge amounts of ammo for. Worse than the rocket launcher, but much cheaper.
Now, I'm not so sure. It relied on that easy legendary schematic to stand out, and I think it's far enough behind the damage curve to be sorta irrelevant now.
So, probably just crush them into paldium, maybe hang onto a hundred or two if an accessory or saddle wants them.

I want to set up a food base, that automaticallu mass produces salad, then takes the salad to other bases and puts it into their feed boxes.
That's my dream. Convoys that result in teams of your dudes actually traversing the map, and encouraging you to do some Death Stranding esque building a road over obstacles to make the convoy faster/possible at all, would be the pipe dream. Especially with aquatic construction now, large bridges are totally possible now.

Everything feels like the game is pushing you out to the exit instead of rewarding your efforts and commitment into learning the game and its mechanics and systems.
Try out my settings, the game will not feel hard but simply less easy, they seem impressive but they will make the difficulty feel like botw instead of elden ring.

>you need one large electric generator per oil extractor
jesus christ, I'll probably need like six for my giant furnaces too.
Which will already take up all of my pal slots just to generate power and kindle.
There has to be a better way. Maybe breeding perfect helzephyr luxes and then condensing them three will be enough to power six generators with a capacitor.
what I'm realizing is that not investing in breeding has really put me into a chokehole in terms of resources.

Would probably require them to remove base building radius completely since anything built outside it slowly decays. In Dragonwilds (another survival crafting game that takes inspiration from Valheim) has no limits and the whole world is your oyster.
>>
>>743319653
Yeah
I have a side by side with my character I made for Terraria.
By level cap, I was STARVING for points, because I build a bunch of excess saddles for pals I hadn't tried before.
That was definitely too few, but I have literally everything I can buy at like level 60, with a bankroll of points I will probably never burn through, and have started stockpiling tech manuals because fuck it, I guess.
They definitely swung too hard with player buffs for 1.0
I kinda feel like my 1.0 playthrough was ruined because of how much I steamrolled everything. Definitely need less exp, definitely need more enemy HP, just at a minimum. I was fighting uphill a 5 to 10 level disadvantage for most of the game and absolutely demolishing shit.
>>

and 2 orserks per large generator
>>
>>743319653
You have too much points because technology is less valuable because progression is too easy so you spend less points and ignore more technology.

Crank up the difficulty, suddenly you don't ignore entire technological series anymore.
>>
Do not put off research
You will come to regret it

>>743319912
This is one I absolutely cheated with the global palbox for.
I have my crackhead Orserk I bred. He never sleeps, just generates. That motherfucker can power two oil rigs by himself, cover incidentals for free, and STILL has time to build shit. He's an animal. I don't even need to specifically breed any other generators for more juice, because he maintains the grid by himself.

New Biomes: underwater, outer space, rocky desert like arizona, rain forest.
Weather: ideally would affect spawns, maybe create difficulties that change your gameplay (lightning hits flying mounts), would be changeable with certain passives.
More foundation sets: Greco-roman, chinese, ancient egyptian, wild west, gothic, etc.
Ancient tech that expands team size and/or dedicated mount slot(s). If mount slots, make land and water mounts better than flying mounts in their niches.
Player combat overhaul, attachments for guns, combo system for melee(think dynasty warriors not dmc).
A mobile base, either as a howdah for the largest pals or a buildable boat/zeppelin.
New elements: another sleepless typing, maybe like machine or something, also give every type two strengths and two weaknesses.
Sexual dimorphism, fem bastigor should be a musclemommy tigress.
more things like the oil rigs, big palaces for the ninjas, false world trees for free pal, mad max strongholds for feybreak.
more pals: give me a samara style onryo, a real bear, a beyblade you can ride, some kind of luchador, tim curry from fern gully, a preying mantis girl, something with a big stick that pole dances when idle, etc

For max crackhead loot, condense both Reptyro for 100% ore weight reduction, condense an Astegon for max rock breaking and speed, and you can clear out a dungeon with over a thousand assorted ore, a pile of stat boosters, and a tech manual or two in like 5 minutes.

I dunno much about how palworld powerscales, there's not much lore giving scope to a lot of the feats pals do. Damage and stat numbers are meaningless without a real world scale to apply them to, and enough of the way pals interact with things like trees and rocks is game-ified in a way that those aren't good metrics either.
You have things like guns we know the real world specs of, but these guns can deal increased damage if the weilder is exceptionally buff, and doing some situps means a sheep goes from dying to a headshot, or taking a hundred to go down.
We'll be able to make more concrete claims as to what Pals are capable of as the IP expands and tackles more narrative focused stories. But, for now, not much to say about it in terms of power scaling.

That's lame. But yeah I would have had each layer be a new (smaller) map.
Like my hypothetical underwater would be coral reef area, sunken city, underwater volcano, spelunker caves, and then a deep sea research lab (think Sea Lab cartoon) Obviously most pals would be water, but some stuff like a skeleton pirate pal or like an easter island head wouldn't need to be water.
Outer space would be the moon, a deserted ancient space station, and the asteroid that keeps dropping xenos down.

Aesthetically: Elemental variants to be more than just recolors, look at how Relaxsaurus Lux has that electric mohawk, if there was a relaxsaurus for any other type, it should have bits and pieces that reflect said type, even if it's basic shit like having flames or leafs for ignis and botan respectively. Or in other cases, have pals with different types have a different haircut, imagine Dazzi noct having an afro instead of the same haircut as dazzi [and do the same for other possible element variants], and of course an updated character creator.
Visually, a better HUD, the UI is clean but i don't like how flat the lifebars are, they should be more stylized, same deal with the command wheel, there's some aspects of the game that still look flat. Also give me a minimap for the HUD (could have HUD features become gradually unlockable stuff like crafting a junkyard DBZ scouter and gradually upgrade it to display more features like wild pal IV's or even passives)
For pals and anything else, give me a harpie pal, Terraria collab chickened out from adding terraria's harpy, hell the design philosophy of terraria's harpies are a good way to make the game more fun, give me shit that can swoop me if i dare to glide around freely thinking the world is safe above ground, same deal for swimming (give me a crocodile/alligator pals too btw).

And most importantly, give me weather effects. I want something that ranges from a mild cozy rainstorm to a full on hurricane that may affect my base if it's not properly built against said weather. I want the world to be unhospitable and weather effects would reflect that, like harsh sunlight instantly roasting your ass if you go to desert biomes, or landslides if you're near mountainous regions, or straight up volcanic eruptions. Palworld has the opportunity of recreating that one pokemon episode but instead i'll be cuddling with a Wixen inside a cave during a snowstorm.
