You guys ever play a game for the first time and you just hate it becasue you have no clue what's going on or how you're supposed to do anything, but then on the second play through you love it because you actually know what's going on?

For me that was Fallout 2 and Dragon's Dogma.

No, because I'm not an ADHD zoomer homo, who grew up playing casual, handholdy trash like Halo or TLOU.

Us 80s' kids LIVED through games that challenged us and required us to plan and think ahead. Explore and discover things on our own, and share experiences with friends.

The damage the internet has done to gaming is undeniable.

Genuinely my experience with Pillars of Eternity
Completely bounced off the game and avoided 2 because of it, then came back later and actually loved both of them.

Ace Combat
I got 6 in middle school randomly because it was marked like half off at EB, my dad told me to pick out a game for my birthday and it had cool jets and explosions on the cover, wasn't really into macho military stuff and AC wasn't really a popular or well known series (at the time) but I wanted something he wouldn't think I was fruity for playing since he was already pretty disappointed in me for liking Pokemon more than football or whatever
Got walled by Strigon team (on normal) the first time they showed up, thought maybe it was a scripted event where you had to survive a long time or something but it just kept going and going and I couldn't hit any of them and I quit
Came back to it a few years later, beat it, ended up getting obsessed with it and beat it on ace, later went on to beat all the other games on ace and it's still one of my favorite franchises

Mark of a poorly designed game. The first experience just goes to waste.
