Oh yeah. That happened.
>>747515115This game shouldn't had flopped like it did, it ran very good and did what it had to do, the only flaw were the damage numbers being wrong as fuck but that could had been easily solved, so what the fuck?
>>747515965It was a looter shooter with some of the most boring missions conceivable for the genre, and without the looting being interesting. On release at least. It had potential. Took from Mass Effect Andromeda's gameplay and improved upon it especially with the flying controls, but of course they made the flying speed slow as SHIT.
>>747515965It flopping was completely justified.Don't get me wrong, got it for 5 bucks and what was there wasn't that bad. But there wasn't anything.
>>747516519>>747517004The game was good, the dev was a retard.
I actually liked it.
>>747517324Me too, it was ahead of its time.
>>747517104Nah. The game had barely any content. You did the same 3 things over and over for 100 hours to grind your char. It was like they completely forgot to dev missions. Which was a shame because the game itself played well and had enough playstyle variety. But that's meaningless if your aaa title has the content of an alpha.
>>747517624Precisely, the dev fucked up and as a result game died. It doesn't take away the essence which was pretty kino. In fact I tried The Last Descent thinking I was going to have the same fun, and didn't, not even the same gameplay. Let me fucking fly around niggers.
>>747517624Yeah. The core of it was quite enjoyable. The problem was they forgot it was a live service game and they had nothing planned to keep it alive. The negativity and lackluster sales probably convinced EA not to fund any further updates which is a shame, I really think if they had more faith in it it would have been possible to turn it into a competent game but the content we had sucked ass for sure.
I kinda wanted EA to let them try and save it before pulling the plug but that didn't happen.
>>747515115You can tell the medium hasn't completely gone to shit because people aren't nearly as hyped about looter shooters anymore.
>>747518207Destiny dead, Division on boncruptcy support. What's left? Booba Descendent and Warframe?Anything else?
>>747515115it would've been an easy 8.5/10 if it was release rn
>>747515965That was not the only problemThe game on release had a piss for selection of legendary weapons, and only 3 or 4 dungeons. That was it. That was all there was to do.Because Bioware apparently pissed on themselves the entire development cycle, and didn't even add flying until the final year.It could've been a decent, or even a pretty good game, if only gaming wasn't full of the most incompetent developers to ever grace a computer screen.
>>747518921>immortals of I can't see shit
>>747517104>>747517624>>747517863The issue was it was a liver service shit without liver service.it should have just been a simple coop game with online servers, which now have beet taken offline making the game completely unplayable.
>>747518921>>747519276This is good game too.its a unique FPS game using magic and has some metroidvania like optional areas.i enjoyed it.i also found the snu snu elf hot
>>747515115Very good game that got mismanaged to an insane level and died an undeserved death.
>let's all pretend the game wasn't literally put together in under a year after soderlund gave bioware something to aim towards>let's all pretend that something wasn't literally the fake gameplay trailer they produced, for which only the fucking flying was actually ever put togetherYeah the HECKIN lack of missions for the [literally unfinished product] with [literally unfinished networking]Launch was a bigger disaster than even diablo3, with the log-in attempts creating a self propagating feedback loop that literally DDoSed the servers lmao
>>747519698It was allright. Perfectly mid.I really couldn't see shit most of the time.Shield up, the way too big, way too shiny projectiles flying around. You kinda vibesprayed the enemies to death.Writing was abysmal and boring. And they kinda fucked up the weapons. Limiting you to 3 but making them upgradable so you used maybe 6 throughout the whole game... maybe 3 different fire modes for each color would have been better.
>>747520312>Perfectly midYeah. A good game.I cant remember the guns that much but i remember being able to customize them to a point i ended up with essentially an LMG with infinite ammo.Gameplay was fine, it was based around colour coded enemies, which is actually a pretty good way to make an FPS where you are forced to use different weapons.I remember some of the optional arenas being pretty challenging. Its not a must play but if you like FPS games and want something new its a decent game to play.I only tried it as it was "free" on PS+and I had a decent time.I even sorted all my inventory out before I quit so if I ever feel like running through it in NG+ in the future I set it up.I mention that as its a game I could see myself play again in the future.
>>747521229I don't think we can play the game anymore.
>>747521537We are talking about immortals of aevium, not anthem.Anthem servers are shut down.IoA is a single player game.Anthem was also a mid game, its fun and had nice style with the mechs but surrounded by mediocre story and characters and then an endless live service grind withut the content or reason to grind. Was fun for a run though and changing mechs to upgrade them all.It tried to be an MMO without all the cool things MMOs have.
>>747520262>fake gameplay trailerYeah this is pretty much true.the "mission" that is trying to show was actually just the free roam and all the enemies in that trailer were then scripted. The underwater cave wasnt real either. They are essentially delves in an MMO, just caves with nothing but shit in them.
Still made more money, had far more players, and was significantly more successful than marathon lmao
Wasn't Anthem in dev hell and had to reinvent wtf it was going to be twice before it released?
>>747515965I'm sure certain non-BioWare fans thought this was "something" but as a BioWare fan it's the most generic shit I've ever touched. The only part i liked was the Cataclysm that released shortly before it was cancelled, where it showed both an actual player to player activity worth a damn, and it showed their promise of having BioWare style conversations added in terms of live-service, in an "evolving story".I won't say it had potential. As an IP it is rudderless. They don't even name the planet they're on or anything you see in the vista beyond really really generic details. It's not a worthy project at all. But there were gameplay elements that could have potential, like flying for an Iron Man game or a more focused Mecha game. The guns fucking sucked though, and the world was just shades of brown and green, and aspiring to be "Avatar" only highlights how generic those movies are to start with.
