I saw a similar thing done with TF2. Some guy just took the leaked TF2 source code, pasted it into AI and told it "make TF2 playable inside minecraft" and the result was actually perfectly accurate tf2 gameplay in minecraft.
I can't wait till AI is good enough to 100% understand compiled code, we'll be able to mod shit like crazy

AI doesn't have to be creative to be good. If I can prompt an AI "take the network code from this *pastes World of Warcraft server launcher" and implement it into this *pastes Crash Bandicoot rom* and it fucking does it that's a literal dream come true and fucking amazing. we would never need new games ever again we could create our own crazy shit.

AI is a tool, an advanced version of a search engine. It's not going to create for you, but it can re-arrange preexisting things for you to make an experiment function or run properly. There is always going to be a point where you need a human that knows things to check up on where the AI fucked up. I think that's the weakness of AI and the extreme supporters of it: they see it as a full replacement when it's still only just a tool to be used as assistance and not full replacement of proper work. There are countless examples of people easily breaking AI to say wrong shit or to think something incorrect is correct, it's not smart. No one will argue that their hammer or screwdriver is smart. Same thing with AI. Just because it's new and shiny and seemingly impressive doesn't mean it can replace a person.

The reason we get so many native ports due to AI is because humans were simply not interested in doing them beforehand, people are busy with real life and cannot organize a big group to make these things happen. AI facilitates it by a lot, since it takes existing work and simply uses what it knows about porting. And it works, sure, but you still need humans to supervise it to make sure it runs. AI doesn't run on its own to begin with, it needs human input.

It's a TOOL, not a TOY or a replacement for people and it never will be. Can it eventually become a replacement? Sure, but your owners won't let that happen. The government needs you to commute to work and spend money for the economy, or else we have a real life Zanarkand where people just fuck around all day while machines do the work. The owners will never, ever allow it.

I don't believe things like that should be open source. Music used to be the best when there was a paywall behind it. Cause it meant people making it could make a living. And not only that, it was local so unique styles could emerge. Culture in general was more interesting 20 years ago then it is now. Because it had restrictions.

All this will do is flood the market with one trick ponies and slop. And possibly drop the revenue of all digital work to zero. I don't even know what's the point of making stuff online if someone will take it and remix it.

Oh and don't give me talk about it democratizing shit. Network effects still apply and once information is cheap all the power goes to the ones who have most capacity to manage it. That is, big corps

I'm not talking out of my ass. A huge share of music that is listened to now is old music. Artist such as Radiohead still show up very high in listening stats even though their songs are from the 90s. It's actually fairly uncommon to find any artist with staying power that started in last 10 years.

I believe that's because to show your music you needed a whole team to distribute it. And it had a limited reach. So you nurtured local artist and had an interesting culture. Nowadays you reach people worldwide which makes the culture as a whole more boring.

And frankly, yeah I think cable TV was actually better too. Most of the good shows we think about were on cable. Breaking bad, the sopranos, star trek, x files.

I genuinely believe that the best thing that can happen to any art form is to keep things kinda quiet and nurture them. And let them grow slowly. Once you go for global audience and want everything fast is when slop appears.

Yup but you are missing the mountains of paid that didnt make it the record company and forced top 100 ones. There is plenty more niche and single artist now. Broad appeal has gone away to most people have their little favorites. there is a problem with a lack of culture there though thats a fair call.
>So you nurtured local artist and had an interesting culture. Nowadays you reach people worldwide which makes the culture as a whole more boring.
Partly true but niches are more developed for better or worse.
>And frankly, yeah I think cable TV was actually better too. Most of the good shows we think about were on cable. Breaking bad, the sopranos, star trek, x files.
Im going to be horrible for this. But i love the internet cable is shit, i hate it and the ads on it are garbage. It blended into too much of the same too fast there were formulas for all types of shows and pacing.
>global slop.
This is a problem, but the real problem is filters and suppression.
Overall i disagree with you the more people creating the better imo, yes there is mountains of garbage but 95% of anything new is shit. I want to filter and pick for myself. drowning in waves of shit is a possible bad end though

And when they do that? what then?
My point is anyone supporting decompiling games the minute they release is retarded because all it will do is make developers just lock their shit behind even more walls. There's a reason game devs dont want their games easily decompiled. Don't get me wrong and start calling me a "luddite" or a "bootlicker" I fully support games being easily moddable and gamers having control over how they play the games they buy but it gets to a point where we risk irreversibly ruining the industry with this shit, It's a double-edged sword in a sense.

>Yup but you are missing the mountains of paid that didnt make it the record company and forced top 100 ones. There is plenty more niche and single artist now
You know, I hear this thing all the time, but I have yet to actually see it. And I actually have bough phyisical media from niche artist. I have a vinyl from an obscure trip hop band from the 90s. I have a cassete tape from a recent hip hop artist from the UK. So niche I got a "Thanks for supporting me" written on the letter that the cassette arrived in. I bought music on bandcamp from people I enjoyed. So I feel I should be the one that is "in the know" about niche artist. Yet I can perfectly understand everything that people show me. If the world really would be so niche, I wouldn't be able to understand people next door. Yet I can say "six seven" to a kid on the other side of the globe and they will wave their hands around like a retard. Like where is this niche culture?
>It blended into too much of the same too fast there were formulas for all types of shows and pacing.
What's better now then? I remember the cartoons I used to watch as a kid, and they were actually pretty unique. Teen Titans was a well written and well animated show. I remember liking boondocks a lot, which is again something very unique. Samurai Jack is once again something of quality you don't see nowadays.
>Overall i disagree with you the more people creating the better imo
I'm fine with it, if it was people actually creating. But this is cutting of revenue from people doing the work and forcing endless remixes.

No you don't, you can run either actual local single card models that excel at agentic pair programming. (Qwen 3.8 27b) Or grab either a few GPUs together, or something like a DGX spark setup and run the larger MOE models (Deepseek v4, Qwen Flash, GLM flash.) These models will give you more or less the same performance as the frontier models locally.

You are literally wasting money burning it even, continuing to use frontier API's. Makes sense though, most vibecoders are horrendously fucking retarded and wouldn't be trusted to be next to a actual real computer just a few years before.

Even though if they believe there was effort they would be a fan. For games it's like when people won't play a good game because of a metascore or because it has some low concurrent players figure.

We saw it recently with AI porting those games to PC. People just immediately thinking it's slop and wouldn't work because muh AI no human code. If you recieved a love letter, but afterwards learned that those who wrote it didn't mean it and wrote it without much thought by cutting and pasting already written love letters, would you still care about it? I wouldn't, cause it signals that you didn't do shit and likely don't even care.

Same thing applies here. I won't interact with anything if I knew it was essentially just cutting things in and out without much emotion or effort put into it. I just don't care.

Call me cattle all you want, but I'm here at least longing for something real.
>>
>>748723860
Your analogy is pretty retarded because love letters are highly personal notes from one person to another person, art and code objectively isn't like that since the vast majority of people disagree with that notion. And so do you, until you learn its AI. Hell I've seen anti-AI people gaslight themselves arguing that AI art isn't AI art because they liked it so much. Basically, you and those kinds of people aren't longing for real things you're living in some constructed NPC brain maze where everything is fucked up and ideas have to do arbitrary gymnastics poses just for you to give them a seal of approval.
>>
>>748723860
>If you recieved a love letter, but afterwards learned that those who wrote it didn't mean it and wrote it without much thought by cutting and pasting already written love letters, would you still care about it? I wouldn't, cause it signals that you didn't do shit and likely don't even care.
But the love letter is mostly about intention whereas most other things are results. if there was a mod that made my game run twice as good but someone told me you shouldnt use it because developer beleives [something i dont like] i wouldnt care i just want the game to work. Art is a bit trickier cause its more intention than just function but it still applies, can you like a piece of art if you dislike the author or what his intention was? can you interpret a different or your own meaning of it?

Well maybe idk. But I do think it was a seriously thought out analogy, I've seen hundreds of them and that was the only one that made me think a bit. This is schizophrenic behavior that is making things up, pulling thoughts out of the ass.

>>
>>748724167
Well, depends. If it's used to optimize something already written then I won't really care, since lot of compilers do that. But if someone vibe codes a game I won't play it after learning about it. Cause I want to experience something unique to that person and how they think. I want their personality and skill to shine through the work. Which it often does cause there's a certain type of "games" person, studios or software has. There's a reason why source engine have a cult following.

I don't know why this is hard to grasp. I want to interact with people. I want to see works made by people. I don't want to see clanker mashups.
"But what if you never knew!"
Well, if my wife was having gangbangs while I'm at work It too wouldn't impact me so long I didn't learn about, but I wouldn't want it to happen

This is genuinely some kind of mental disorder you have here anon. You have this idea where if he did or used X you can't like it because .... ? I understand not wanting to play dogshit, I think 99.99999999999% of games are shit especially if they're indie and normal people don't care if the guy making it had a personality(protip, everyone has one even AI models do). But someone will vibe code something fun because that's his craft and he wanted to make something fun. I'm actually positive someone already has and it's just rotting somewhere. OPs project already seems fun too and there will be lots of other games like this.

>Well, if my wife was having gangbangs while I'm at work It too wouldn't impact me so long I didn't learn about, but I wouldn't want it to happen
Now this is a dogshit analogy. Imagine enjoying a video game then learning it was made with AI and then equating that to your wife cheating on you with multiple men.

>This is genuinely some kind of mental disorder you have here anon. You have this idea where if he did or used X you can't like it because
Why is it a mental disorder? Cause I have standards? If I went to a shop and saw the best clothes ever, yet I learned to make them they need to fucking catch penguins and skin them alive, I too wouldn't buy them, even if they were THE BEST clothes in existence. Cause I don't support the process.

I'm not going to say using AI is on the level of skinning penguins alive. But my point is that you can reject and judge something based on the process and not just the results.

And yeah, I don't like the process of AI. I think it signals laziness in the user, I think it's data theft and ruins the revenue for people who were actually doing the work, and it floods the net in shit.
>the guy making it had a personality(protip, everyone has one even AI models do)
You can say this. But I know when I open a site and see that it's coded with claude. Same way I can tell a game is made on unreal engine. And yeah, I suppose that is a kind of personality, but it's just slop most of the time. I see a boomer's political comic and I know it's AI. I walk down the street and see some cafe with AI art. Those things just stick out. I can tell. Anyone can tell. I know you don't give a shit and just make slop to get by.

>Now this is a dogshit analogy. Imagine enjoying a video game then learning it was made with AI and then equating that to your wife cheating on you with multiple men.
Point here is that there's value in truth and not just your perception. Just cause I never will know that my wife cheats on me, doesn't mean that I'm fine with her cheating. She could be a good wife. But that still wouldn't be alright to me cause that's a deal breaker. No matter how amazing she is.

As for AI, the fact is that you you have or will enjoy something made by AI --- until it trips your arbitrary "standard" alarm and you stop liking it which will send your brain into retard mode and you'll stop liking it because of the mental gymnasium of bullshit nonsense you've fabricated in your mind which you call your "standards" that apparently only exist to keep you a miserable retard.

Rest of your post is just your typical deranged luddite takes so I guess we're done. I'm sorry for thinking you had a brain...
>>
>>748726128
Yeah, but like I said, maybe I am getting fooled (ALTHOUGH IN REALITY AI IS FUCKING OBVIOUS 99% OF TIMES) I still don't want it. I don't think not being able to discriminate with the end result is some good standard to hold. I would even say it kinda encourages trickery, which is poison for anything resembling good life. Why would you want a world where you have to constantly wonder "was that real?". Which AI is actually also doing. Nowadays you can't really trust any picture or video on the internet, cause it might be fake. It's kinda hard to build trust in such a world. To the point I can totally imagine the digital being abandoned in the future outside of necessities.

The thing is, I do care. I have stopped eating meat when I was 15 cause I thought I can get by with causing less pain, so I did. I also often buy second hand clothes or refurbished electronics to not cause waste. I helped dragging bags for elderly with walking problems.

I'm not living in a delusion that this will save the world, cause it won't, but I have a promise I will commit the least evil that I can. And I'm sure I have room for improvement. I'm no angel. But I stand by my words as larping to me is meaningless.

And I know this will receive some very clever comeback, like "I guess I'm going to eat an extra steak" or something. Well, I have learned I can't change people's behavior. I try to do good and if someone follows me, then that's fine. If not, I am content living with knowledge I don't have much sin on my hands.

I have weird feelings about my programming abilities becoming an outdated worthless thing people don’t do by hand anymore, but I had a dozen other things to do and feel good about. There is a feeling of being a horse after the invention of the car though. My professional identity was obliterated.

Well I get that but I mean it in a deep sense. Some people will hate the idea of an AI driven utopia because they think they'll have no reason to live, you know?

It's cloud gaming, it's all going to be in the cloud fucking everything in the cloud I'm not sure how none of you can see this.

You won't need a PC, you just sub to a cloud gaming service and you have a thin client at home. Now all those parts can go to the hyperscalers who'll pay literally any price for them. Piracy is solved, because all the games will be streamed. You won't be able to decomp anything because you won't have an exe. Everyone involved gets to make money off of forcing you to pay rent each month.

we will never buy your cloud shit jew

Sure yeah, most people crave and demand slavery and become very upset at its alleviation

Can we get Skate 1, 2 and 3 native PC ports?
>>
>>748731063
Don't we already have that?

how come these all say it was one-shotted with opus 5.5 but when I use the exact same model at work its fucking retarded and fucks everything up constantly?

I mean its definitely very useful but I needed to send like 30 different prompts today to fix one small bug because it kept inventing new ways to be retarded. It hallucinated 2 function names too.
>>
>>748731616
you're a skill issue promptlet that failed the IQ test
>>
>I mean its definitely very useful-
All we needed to hear, pump one more trillion dollars into AI.
>>
>>748731616
Are you using the skills right? Are you using the MCP servers and proper prompts with good structure?
Not even joking but learning how to wrangle the AI is the most powerful skill you could have

but in 6 months surely the AI will be able to do all the prompting and decision making itself in some kind of loop right? so whats going to happen then?

counting down to when companies start issuing DMCAs and lawsuits

Sega did it already with PSO Reborn

Doubt that will ever happen unless you get the AI to create another AI and have the first AI control the mini AI

They lie

why couldnt you do that though? they already have subagents. you could have one model orchestrate other models. you can do that now

AI has helped me considerably with simple quality of life things I can do on my own just for myself.
A simple workout app I used became a subscription based shitfest that uses their own gay AI to make your routines + ads.
so I vibe coded my own damn app that does everything I need it to for myself.
I've made several mods for myself for Balding Gate 3, Monster Hunter, and even Dragons Dogma simply because I wanted it and it was incredibly easy to do.

AI is a really great tool and I hope you guys are taking advantage of it to use it how it was meant to be used.
>>
>>748732685
yeah but arent you worried about the future beyond video games though?
~50% of jobs in the US involve using a computer. All of those jobs are going to be gone. How are people going to afford food and shelter?
>>
Someone just vibecoded a ps5 browser exploit hack for all firmware versions. Luddites BTFO
>>
>>748732857
I wonder, do these people have previous experience or they are happily handing off all the work to the AI?
>>
>>748733040
I assume good shit is made by people with either previous experience or who are willing to learn alongside while the AI makes stuff. There is clearly no shortage of slop made by retards that don't care, so there must be some split.
