So uh... where would one start off if he wants to create a game mod with AI? Asking for a friend haha
do you realize these are just fake video gens and not playable games/mods?
>>749020806He's just looking for attention. Post the Mario ones in sonic land.
>>749020754is changing a few models and a few movement variable really that impressive nowadays?
>>749020806I hate it because people just believe it at face value. Hate, hate, hate like a slave morality maxxing peasant. Talkin' bout dat nietzschean ressentiment. Guy just puts one video, a "I pushed a button explanation" then never goes into detail.Like sure, we can talk about Rust merges, and such. But the slop IMO isn't AI it's people like that who might had to do a lot of work to even get it working with AI play it off like it's some easy mode. As a game designer and programmer, tell he shows me debugging and other analytics. I will question this a lot.Zero chance AI was able to rig the shaders, rigging, etc. Not in one workflow like that, even if he did convert the game engines all to a single code language. Until then I'm slurping.
>>749021036yeah because it's made entirely by AI. Previously it would've took a bit of programming skill and at least a few dozen hours if not hundreds or thousands, depending on the modding tools at your disposal and how minecrafty you wanted it to be.
>>749020806What about simple retextures, fag?
>>749021128hmm yeah that is truethis magnitude of work would be probably a few thousand hours if a human was to do itAI has really came this far?I should probably buy a subscription, give it a go. I don't want to fall behind if things are this good even just now (and it's gonna get better and better!)
>>749020806>fake video gens and not playable games/modsfaggot
>>749021717that's easily doable right now with deepfakes or merging 2 games together at runtime using an AI, neither are "modding"
>>749021298Yeah, it can do stuff like 1 shot a medium sized programming project like "make me a counter strike clone"; that's noob stuff but it eliminates many barriers and speeds up your work even if you're a pro. If you can afford it, get the sub. Don't listen to the luddites; they're just butt-hurt NPCs who are going to worship AI religiously soon when they get the firmware update so their hate is temporary and irrational, like normalfags did with computers: they went from thinking nerds are pathetic nolifers to becoming even more addicted to smartphones (computers) than those nerds. Now normalfags doomscroll to get their fix even in situations where there's already enough dopamine, like when they go out with friends.
>>749020754opencode + https://github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder probably? idfk.but the arkham knight spiderman video was sorta fake because both games were running at the same time and was pure jank
>>749021082>Zero chance AI was able to rig the shaders, rigging, etc.I was able to get claude to make an animation very similar to what I wanted in one go then I just had to describe some more to get what I wanted>>749006685I did nothing myself other than test it in game and then send a log to claude and explain what I saw. However, asking claude to work with tools either it makes or something that's open source helps condense the time to debug. I'm sort of working on something a little complex so I'm trying to figure out how to bridge the gap better
>>749021781And so is the modding retard everything is easy not
>>749022107not what? AI gave you old timer's disease kek
>>749022014looks fake as shit and those 2.8k stars are just jeets and bots
>>749022224at least I make spelling mistakes I'm not a bot
>>749021781I am literally playing it right now.
>>749022380>Can even break the wallswhat the fuck
>>749022380how do we know it's not just some fag's video? blow up the swastika with TNT or carve a "4" for "4chan" with the pickaxe
>>749020754You get a Claude subscription, download the desktop app, tell it the directories of the games you want to merge and tell it to get to workPro tip: tell it to search online for existing work, examples, as well as plan out the steps so it has a goal to work towards and doesn't spend a bunch of tokens going down rabbit holes
>>749022380WOW SO LE RANDOM WHAT A COOL GAME XD
>>749023357do you know any get rich quick schemes to prompt the AI with? maybe some furry nsfw game type shi?
>>749022224>old timer'sIt's "alzheimer's" you dumb retard
>>749022795
Just a reminder that one Anon showed how many tokens he had spent on his experiments: 1 billion tokens, which costs (without the subsidy) about $5,000.The idea that you'll be able to keep paying the $20 subscription fee indefinitely and spend the equivalent of $5,000 to create silly mods for video games is ridiculous.
>>749023568based anon delivers>chatyeah that's why I asked you to do it, to see if it's aware of the block type and blast resistancethe crater looks fucked up and hallucinated though
>>749023431>make an obviously false claim>be proven wrong>allcaps screechingmany such cases
>and then minecraft jumps into elden ring>and batman into grand theft auto
>>749020754You start and finish here >>>/trash/
>>749023686All of skyrim topology kind of gets assigned generic rock/dirt/wood block in the minecraft context based on the texture from skyrim I guess. The crater looks awkard because the underlying minecraft grid (8x8 microblock) obviously doesn't exactly match the cut triangles on skyrim side, but it really depends on the place and time. This shot was hard to get because whiterun guards keep harassing me and I had to reset the world and also I'm tired af and don't want to bother anymore after playing it for several hours now.I managed to grief whole whiterun 2b2t style and cover it with lavacasts but it really gets more and more laggy as you edit the terrain more so I had to reset again.
>>749020754I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible, without hyperbole or insults: you'll never find success making a game with AI. You simply won't. It's hard enough without it, especially as a solo dev, but lacking any and all understanding of the nuances, pitfalls and requirements of gamedevving AND AI usage, and deciding to simply relegate it to a machine, you're bound to fail and lose a lot of money in the process. Tokens are expensive. They'll keep getting more expensive too. Your time would be better spent cultivating actual skills.t. Has actually made a game, made profit off of it AND works with AI (regretfully).
>>749022014>but the arkham knight spiderman video was sorta fake because both games were running at the same time and was pure jankthat is every "mod" on this trend, they are just passing through collision data and hijacking the rendering pipeline to layer stuff correctly
I would start by asking AI how to do it.I'd ask further questions so I can get a grip on the whole process. Then I'd ask about the specific game I'm trying to mod and how modding it would work.At this point the context of the chat would be quite polluted and I'd get the AI to document the conclusions and key information into an MD file. After that I'd start a new chat and feed it the consolidated.md file, I'd start working with it on the first steps. After the conext is exhousted again I'd have it document our work so far. Then I'd start a new chat.I'd repeat this until the mod is done. Then I'd go through a similar process to clear out the bugs and the things that did not turn out the way I wanted. Most of the work with AI is in the last stage, because it will usually no implement things just the way your want them, whether it's in design, architectural or code terms. For a mod your only concern is design.
>>749020806RetardIt's all downloadable and playable
>>749021036It's not changing a few models. It's taking the exact code of one game and making it work in a different game. It doesn't play like Minecraft, it is minecraft and it's elden ring.If you wanted to make this by hand it would take years and you'd never get it to work right. The most important and impressive thing is that AI can decompile all of it and make it usable code in the first place.
>>749024050The point isn't to make people famous or rich (only stupid Indians think that way). The point is to have an affordable gadget that lets you do advanced cool things for your own use. However… there's a catch: these things aren't cheap. They seem cheap because heavy use by ordinary users is being HEAVILY subsidized. As I said before, one Anon was bragging about doing amazing things with his $20 subscription, but another Anon did the math, and the first Anon usage cost Anthropic about $5,000, based on the number of tokens he'd used. When the party's over and usage starts being charged properly, many recreational uses will become unfeasible because of the high cost.
>>749020806>i-it's fake! (because I don't understand it)holy fuck this can't be real, are millennials really just boomers 2.0 but more retarded and gay?
>>749021717>>749024948>>749028403all these posts yet zero evidenceshow me the pages where i can download these mods
Best and only useful implementation I've seen was the gunplay from tarkov out into fallout NV
>>749020806They just single scenes, not full games.
>>749020806good if baitretard if you actually think this
>>749020754ive yet to hear 2 games that would work well together doing this
