There's a lot of misinformation going around about the Beorcan people as of late. Beorcans are not just raiders, but also traders and explorer
The Beorcan people have made such wonderful discoveries for Norgan such as the loot in your village which can be traded in Beorcan villages to help the economy continue to fluster.
They're also wonderful pet owners, taking their wolves out for walks and letting them have their fun with what ever chew toy they come across, be it Hare, Deer, Bugaboo or Arisen.
Remember these facts next time you see a party of Beorcan coming close to you, they're as much people as you are, just hard workers trying to make ends meet with your meat.

>>749446037
i dont understand this game. it like, a game with no game design... yeah you move around and press attack and attack animations happen etc, but there's like no flow or sense to it. everything is hard animation locked, you just spam m1, skills don't really display any kind of power or coefficient so you don't even know if its good or what its for, unless its obvious like a charge/jump attack. you might be on a class with no defensive so you just dash around until the dumb slow AI is not looking at you, spam m1 until it looks at you, then i guess wait 3 seconds for the animations to end so you can dash around in circles again. it's like temu monhun and even has a lot of ripped animations and little details like monsters drooling when tired. but if you removed all of the actual game design and sense out of monhun. the "cool/unique" factor is in grappling onto monsters, which is just like... drain all your stamina so you can do less damage than spamming m1 and maybe get flung to an instant death... cool?
it's like a game for NPCs that have no understanding or interest in a video game beyond just things happening on screen you are barely connected to controlling whilst mashing 1 button or your one good damage skill.
and that feeling extends to everything else like the world exploration. at first its kind of immersive - there are dark nights, and camping, and hey we ripped off monhuns thing of needing to rest/eat or you will have -max HP, but we aren't going to signal it or make it flow nicely at all in game design, we just kind of... put it in the game lol. so it all ends up being busy work, storage management, wading through menus, and mostly just generally being lost/bored/confused most of the time whilst playing. then you run into a dragon with 5 health bars. you fight for 20 minutes spamming m1. then one of its random 1-shots happen whilst your camera is stuck in a cliff wall and hopefully you just turn the game off and realize its irredeemable shit.

Yeah, you can even play it solo.

>>749448491
Well, let me see..
There's a lot of variants, but they're beefed up and have unique skills, feel very different to fight. The lesser demons are really fucking great, as well as the two new liches. There's the ghost/snow dog, the fire breathing Gagan/bird, then the yawn giant (gobbles you up).

This isn't to mention the bosses, like the Satanachia, really fun fucking fight.

All in all, the combat really gets fucking intense later on in the DLC. You get shit like liches and demons fighting together then a huge wave of skellies (mages, fighters, captain/boss 2 hander) and the new undead grabbers that get ragdolled like fuck but run up your ass and oh my god.

It's NOTHING like the base game with the fucking goblins and saurians, you get some of them earlier on but even then they're variants. The lost rite dungeons also add a lot of variety to the base game fighting, it's honestly a bit disgusting how much better the combat is now with the new skills and better enemies.

>>749448921
On the variants, a good example would be the human enemies, the barbarians. Base game has bandits and that's it. Here they're bigger and faster and will fuck your shit up, using vocation skills and working together with tamed direwolves.

>>749449031
I'm trying to think of enemies not yet mentioned, but yeah, the variety is a lot better in what you fight, how you fight and where you fight. You've got stage hazards too and shit like snowstorms. I had a ton of fun throwing fuckers in a frozen lake and then my pawns all drowned because one of them called meteor while they were on a frozen section huddled up and the meteors broke it.

Probably the best factor for me here is that it really feels like an adventure. You're checking your map, looking for some loot, exploring and checking for places to camp out to hold the weather and make some food. One of my best moments was when I had to fucking mosey after an undead ambush left me stranded and I couldn't riftstone (can't riftstone in a snowstorm) so I just had to press on with like 15% health and no fucking clue, fucking great.

When you're in the endgame of the DLC, you can start gear farming and it's not like you have to just run through the world again, as the fights are actually in small portals that you interact with in your already explored area, so you can go between 'fight rooms' very quickly and efficiently. It's got the best of both worlds.

Is this like BBI where you need to kill the last boss to start actually getting level 3 weapons or can you get them earlier? Are level 3s the only ones with improved versions of master skills?

>>749446329
First off, only extra special retarded niggerfaggots think base DD wasn't good or that DA substantially changed it when in reality it was just one fucking dungeon. Second, DA2 doesn't make the game good, it just adds one DLC area that's better than the base game. It still has problems.
>>
>>749449738
Oh, you're talking about the lost rites, sorry bud, gotta port crystal those if you wanna redo them, I think.

I'm talking about fights in the DLC area, "rancor" as the game calls it. You interact with a glowing orb and it creates a fight arena for you to fight waves of enemies/bosses and then get a lot of loot for your troubles.

Levels 5 and ultimate are after the last boss.

...yeah?
you'd only climb the monster in a pointy weapon scenario.
Bow and mage classes don't need to grapple because they heavly rely on elemental damage and/or melee ally pawns. Also maces sucks in general and you should never use them. They were a lot better in DD1
>>
>>749450964
No, that isn't how the second game works at all and I must assume you didn't play the game to even think that. The second game has world level scaling where every single enemy scales up every time you gain a level, so fighting starting enemies at max levels is basically exactly the same as when you first started. The only thing that makes you more powerful is getting more skills.
>>
Any tips for Mystic Spearhand? I like the party-shield but I don't feel like I'm using the skills effectively. Most of my damage comes from critting stunned/downed enemies, which isn't useful against bosses.

You can start the DLC and/or do lost rites aka new dungeons in the base game areas. Just go talk to Brant, all that's required is that you've reached the main city to start the quests for the expansion.
>>
>>749450034
>brand new ghost meister skill
Where do you get those?
>>
>>749451196
That is literally how the game works you stupid nigger. The game is an absolute slog. Itsuno came out and lampshaded this terrible design choice before the game came out by saying that other open world games have "boring traveling." What he really meant is that in his game you have to do menial combat against enemies you've killed 1000 times but are now much more powerful to keep it taking a ton of fucking time. Seriously the absolute worst decision ever and ruined the game. Oblivion made this mistake 20 years ago btw.
>>
>>749450884
>>749451153
STEP ONE: Go talk to Brandt in the capital. he will give you 2 new quests (theyre colored blue in his dialogue), one to investigate norgan via seeing what some soldiers in the city are planning to do on the queens orders, and another quest about ruins
STEP 2: do the quest about ruins. it will lead you to your first treasure which includes an item that reveals where the other ruins are. go do all of them. YES ALL OF THEM. there are like, 9 in total i think. along with VERY good gear (for the base game), youll get offering flames, which is an item you need for norgan
STEP 3: once youre done with the ruins, go start norgan by working on the first quest brandt gave you

there you go

Hard mode + Late game DLC gives you a LOT of XP.
However, the levels start giving like 1 or even 0 stats after a bit, so the difference between level 150 and 190 is very small.

What's your favorite aspect of DD2? I've never played Dragons Dogma and was initially super interested when DD2 was first announced but the dogshit performance put me off until I recently saw they apparently improved it a ton (and hopefully this makes its way to MH Wilds because I want to play that too kek).
>>
>>749452134
Speaking of weaknesses, is there a way to tell what they are? The Pawns only call out some of them and for everything else I feel like I'm just guessing.
>>
>>749451140
For bosses either do magic cannon or the small flying swords (but shoot the boss with your bolt first, it increases the flying sword damage)
If there are things around the environment like rocks and stuff, use the telekinesis to throw them at the boss
Keep refreshing the shield and stamina succ the boss when you run out of stamina

This isn't an answer you would want to hear because it tells you literally nothing about it but for me it's simply just the vibes. DD2 and by extension DD1 offer such a unique and comfy adventure experience that you can't get anywhere else. It's a game that cares more about being an adventure first and a game second.
>>
>>749452639

Yeah I didn't even know the dungeons were scaled for the base game and not scaled for post game like Norgan was. Why the fuck are they locked behind story progression when you can just go to Norgan literally whenever with zero restriction?
>>
>>749452810
It's not a time limit, it's a rest limit: time doesn't move in the Unmoored World until you rest, and you can only rest a limited number of times. If you have other ways of recovering your Loss Gauge, you can get by without advancing the time. Originally that meant Allheal Elixirs, but there's some other alternatives introduced in Norgan. I'm pretty sure you can also use a Wakestone when you die to remove the Loss Gauge. Pawns can always be dismissed/killed and then rehired to get their health back.
>>
Are new enemy types scattered around base world as well or just in the new dungeons and DLC area?

Don't get hit. There's even a new achievement for doing the Final Proving Grounds (the last Lost Rites dungeon, found in the Unmoored World) without recovering the Loss Gauge at all. You are expected to get by without the Loss Gauge being an issue, and are punished if it is.

Playing DD2’s main quest in preparation for the expansion and then playing the main quest for Dark Arisen 2 has made me irrationally angry about the state of the base game and its release. Who was the retard in charge of quest design that thought it was a good idea to have 40% of your time in Vermund prancing through the castle and the masquerade hall? You don’t fight any monsters. Hell, you don’t even interact with any kind of gameplay at all because the game has no stealth system. You literally just walk through hallways and then pick up a note. That’s it. And when you do get a quest that’s not a dogshit ‘walk to the castle and pick up a note’ quest, it’s a ‘walk 78 miles and pick up a note’ quest. I agree with Itsuno’s design philosophy that travel needs to be fun, but the destination needs to be fun too. You don’t go to a big dungeon or meet interesting characters or partake in awesome events, you pick up a fucking note. Dark Arisen 2 is a breath of fresh air that actually feels like an adventure. Like an actual video game with a story. In my opinion, the base game and Dark Arisen 2 should be separate titles. I still like DD2, but the DLC put a lot of things into perspective.

Are you on easy, normal or hard? If you are on easy, I suppose so. Maybe on normal if you're using a Press X to win vocation and adept at it. No if you're playing on hard.

Don't worry, no matter what level you're gonna get gaped in the DLC.
>>
>>749455789
Levels don't matter at all. You pretty much stop getting main stat increases after 60, and you'll be 100+ before you're even halfway through the DLC, and you will not notice a difference in damage as you level. Only gear matters.

If I'm at the bit in the story where I need to dress up for a masquerade how much of the story do I have left? I feel like I've basically done nothing in the story but then DD1's main story if you ignored all the side shit was like 10-20 hours long. How did they copy the story of the first game beat for beat and somehow make it worse?

There's 12 Trials and thus 12 flames, but you can only access 9 before the post-game, which lines up with the Obelisks

That's very early on, you've got plenty left. Still have the rest of the Disa plotline, Battahl, Agamen, the story quests after that and then Unmoored World.

>How did they copy the story of the first game beat for beat and somehow make it worse?
It's not even remotely close to that, please pay attention at least a little.
>>
>>749456268
>It's not even remotely close to that, please pay attention at least a little.
Everything so far has been the exact same. There's a twist of self awareness too it that recontextualizes it to be a different spin on the story but that doesn't change the fact that it is basically telling the same story.
>>
>>749456329
It is only superficially similar. It has a similar set up of following a caravan to a big city and doing a bunch of quests for one political faction. Just look at the origins,
>DD1 Arisen started in a peaceful village with a generic hero start of setting out from their hometown to save the world, this leads them to big city where they work for the Duke directly and things spiral from there
>DD2 Arisen started as the Arisen and wound up in a slave mining camp where people control Pawns with magic stones that give temporary powers of an Arisen, eventually this leads them to city where there's a false arisen scheme they need to unravel and things spiral from there
Even without touching on the Pathfinder bits or the plot beyond the literal starting premise they're not the same.
>>
>>749446037
Did they fixed the heigh restrinctions?
>>
>>749456596
Yeah cool but that doesn't change what I said. Do you know what the word beats means in this context? You said it yourself it's following the same steps and DD2 does them worse than 1 did. If they were going to copy 1(copying them intentionally to hammer home the idea of the cycle is still copying) and just make it less fun or interesting then they shouldn't have bothered.

The only "scaling" in the game is that after the coronation harder enemies are in the world.
Which the first game did a similar thing.

It has nothing to do with leveling.
Enemies don't get stronger when you level.
This is just schiophrenia

>I'm criticizing the structure of it's events.
No, you're doing the equivalent of claiming a story is a boring rip-off because it starts with a "hero setting out on a quest" premise. It's a very simple concept, you have to actually show the thing you're subverting. So for the tutorial and set up section of the game they used similar plot beats but different events.
>>
>>749457391
Proving my point. Not even close to what I said.
>>
You guys using any mods? Debating if I should jump back in, I had a lot of problems with the base game when I tried it years ago, principally due to enemy variety and how thin vocations were. It’s my understanding that with the new round of updates the second issue’s been kind of addressed but not the first.
>>
>>749456884
It absolutely is possible to go back to dd1. I restarted it recently and am trying to 100% it. Dd1 is really special. Its still leagues better than 2, although I enjoy them both.

what does Warfarer do worse than the main vocations other than the ults that are not always good anyways?

>>
>>749457529
The stat scaling, its a good class if youre high level and you like having a rotation of skills from different classes. Like I dont even take any extra spells for the second weapon mage, I just use the staff so I can be the healer and dont need a mage in the group, but you can feel that the casts are shit, you have less stamina and you noticeably do less damage.

Any Pawns on Official Monthly Rankings that are currently giving Ring of Endeavor besides Herbchad?

Not at all. It adds some dungeons to the base game, but you should pretty much only play it for the new area and just in on NG+ on hard mode.

Can you get good lost rite weapons for other classes without needing to get godsbane? Or am I stuck with fighter, mage, and archer from the tutorial rite for 20 hours?
>>
>>749457529
The stat scaling barely makes a difference, if you don't care about the class ults then Warfarer is basically an upgrade since you can use any armor you want. Most classes have good ults though so that is a pretty big downside.

>>
>>749458198
The later SAO games are the only series that really does AI companions well, everything else pales in comparison to the levels of team building you get from those games.
>>
>>749458372
You can't do any of them besides the first without the godsbane. The second one lets you do MOST of it, then blocks the last portion. The rest need it to even get in.
>>
>>749447362
I've started at 43 with Checkpoint town gear on normal. It's brutal before you get your first DLC item set, and stays challenging, but doable. There are much more useful consumables than in base, you get stacks of curatives to bruteforce if need be.

>>
>>749458464
The MMO simulator ones. Hollow Realisation is good too, but the AI teammates get absurd in Alicization Lycoris and it's sequel. You know the old meme of Pawns actively learning from your gameplay? That's actually true in AL. They let the player actually change and influence the AI flag behaviours ingame, so you can even teach them specific combos for individual situations and the timings for it all.

How come there isn't a feature to request for your Pawn to use a specific skill? Like when you want to use the springboard to reach a high ledge the Pawn doesn't react to automatically.
