>>750192650No. Katanas are not balanced for speed. They are single-edged chopping devices, really just long cleavers. Have you ever picked up a katana? They're heavy as fuck, too. Katanas are slow, heavy hacking weapons. Can't properly stab with em either. They're the opposite of nimble, they require a lot of skill to even properly wield and are woefully ineffective against plate armor due to their lack of puncturing power. A rondel or shortsword would be the real DPS weapon.
