this game walked so breath of the wild could run
or maybe that's the wrong analogy since I think this game is better than botw
what about you? you like open world for zelda?

I do prefer ALBW more than BOTW.
botw's main dungeons are boring and all feel the same. and the open world is just as bad as open worlds in other games.

oranges to apples
salads to pizzas
food analogy to hitler comparison
>>
why did they stop making top down classic style zelda games after ALBW? it was a great game too.
>>
ALBW is good. BOTW overshot by several country miles.
>>
>>750247417
At least it has dungeons I guess, unlike ubisoft Zelda.
>>

Echoes of Wisdom exists.
But it's really just ok, it's like taking the worst part of botw/totk (menu scrolling and pausing combat) and doubling down on it
>>
The world ended here.

I liked EoW. Wouldn't replay it, but I'll still take it over the BotW shit.

Art style should’ve been the definitive art style for classic Zelda.

Hilda and Irene are maximum cute

I liked ALBW a lot, because LttP is my favorite Zelda game, and it successfully evoked the nostalgia I had for that. But I also liked BotW a lot too, and it might be because I played Skyward Sword right before it and I absolutely hated that one.

I didn't finish EoW over the menu shit, was very annoying. I would have enjoyed a Zelda game using magic she learned and a lot more puzzling than normal Zelda releases where Link is the MC.
It fits perfect too, she is always depicted as the smart girl, always studious and hitting the books learning about history and everything.
EoW should have been a combat/puzzle game.

ALBW is ground zero for Zelda turning to shit
>>
>>750247417
funnily enough this game's only flaw is being open world sloppy
if it kept the same mechanics as lttp it would've been a flawless masterpiece
still many tiers over shit of the wild though at least it's a real zelda game and not streamerslop
>>
>>750251378
That'd be Wind Waker if we're talking "ground zero".
>>
>>750251739
Nah. ALBW is responsible for removing items from dungeons, giving them to you at the beginning of the game, and "do dungeons in any order you want" faggotry.
>>
This is a great replayable game.
BOTW is a great one playthrough game.
>>
>>750251802
Wind Waker is responsible for putting the series on a path of diminishing exploration elements for a decade before that even happened thanks to its railroaded first half. That in turn led to A Link Between Worlds aiming to be as open as it is, a response to Skyward Sword's negatively received linearity, which was a result of the Pandora's Box Wind Waker opened a decade earlier.
>>
>>750247417
ALBW ran at the perfect speed so slopotw could try to run even faster and fall flat on its face.

Triforce of the Gods 2 is indeed the best top down Zelda there is.
>you like open world for Zelda
But it's not? Non-linear ≠ Open world. You still spend most of your playtime in dungeons. The difference of BOTW/TOTK is that there's more emphasis on the open world than dungeons. Same old watchtower signalin' resource grindin' outpost clearin' n' side quest hoppin' Ubislop shit.
>>
>>750247417
I liked it but it really felt like the nsmb of Zelda ganes.
>>
This was a soft remake of ALttP
>>
>>750247417
Easily the best handheld Zelda
>>
I barely remember anything about ALBW except that it was the most slapped together piece of shit I remember having experienced at the time. It wasn't bad or good, it didn't aspire to be anything or have anything to offer.
BotW is at least memorable for being fucking atrocious.
The latter is always less offensive than the former.
>>
>>750253749
That's not really news; It was directly marketed as and stated to be a sequel to ALttP

>thinken about replaying A Lino Between Worlds
>replay Link's Awakening and Oracle of Ages/Seasons instead
>mfw
Honestly can't name one thing the game really has to offer. The story is recycled intentionally because I guess it's hard to write a five page fantasy storyline about an evil sorcerer. I really didn't like the artstyle and 90% of the character designs, notably the Sages and Yugo. They're so fucking ugly it's weird.
Oh, I almost forgot about the gimmick. And that's all I have to say about it.
>>
>>750247417
It’s far, far better than BotW. When it came out, I was certain this was the new direction for Zelda, or at the very least, the 2D Zelda games.

Buuuuut designing a game with actual objectives and dungeons while affording the player that degree of freedom is too hard for Nutendo so it’s been nothing but BotW and remakes for ten years.
>>
>>750251802
You're not wrong, but each dungeon in ALBW did have items to find which did create a better sense of progression than what BOTW had. ALBTW is a very tightly designed experience
