They're calling it the comfiest game of all time
>we wuz romans n sheet
>>750260385sorry bro 1800 is peak
>>750260432How's the game? Are they still working on DLCs? Thought about waiting until it's all done for now, as my backlog is massive.
>>750260432What the fuck is this shit
>>750260385>They're calling it the comfiest game of all timeAnd they don't even know how right they are.
>>750260385block your path
>>750260385
>>750260752I haven't played Anno Rome yet but Ubisoft is cutting jobs from the Anno studio so I wouldn't be surprised if the current season is the final one.
>>750260385its nice that majority NCPs are super nice to you. the war system is still ass. I found the best way to get islands you want from NPCS is just to buy seats from them. make your starting islands for your rich people and have all over islands just dump raw materials onto their island and have the high end manufacturing happen there. a war economy could be fun is the war system wasn't trash.

1800 is the superior game but 1404 is comfier
>>750260385my favorite game series, but this one was peak comfy.
>>750266039This. I always return to 1404 just for the comfy atmosphere, kino aesthetics, soundtrack, etc. even the water graphics are super nostalgic to me.
>>750266027
>>750260385Definitely one of the most addicting games I've played and IAAM mode makes it slightly more challenging. I think music adds a lot to the comfiness. Ever tried putting all the production on the same island?
>>750260385I like 1602, great times growing up with that listening to MIDI amazing grace
>>750266127The soundtrack is so beautiful yet so melancholic, it fills me with some unknown yearning and I love ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uztg7dI9wBk
>>750266695this isn't comfy at all
>>750260385It's comfy until you get to the Patrician stage>books>jerkins>needing so much wheat for all the beer and bread
>>750266695all manufactured goods, are made on the rich person island, all over islands feed that island...
>>750266127Damn I still need to do an island dedicated solely for burger production in that game.
If were talking modern-ish anno Anno 1800 > Anno 2070 > Anno 1404 > Anno 117 >>>>> Anno 2205
>>750260385just downloaded this thanks to this thread.Any tips? What am I in for?
>>750271665Get the unofficial patch. The game is very comfy, you can either play the campaign which serves as a glorified tutorial for the most part or dive into scenarios or a continuous (sandbox) game. Sandbox with no AI opponents is good if you just want to dive in and learn by fucking around. Also, the game can be a little unforgiving in terms of how much income it gives you relative to the cost of your production buildings. You're very much encouraged to use highly efficient metagamed layouts instead of building beautiful cities.
>>750260385This game and civ 5 always lull me into sleep. It's probably because of the music.
>>750271665comfy
>>750272250I find the sandbox mode pretty boring at times. Bullying Sir Langton into quitting feels so good.
>>750272557I usually lose interest in the game by the mid-patrician stage unless it's one of the scenarios which have an interesting challenge mode.
>>750272557You can fuck over NPCs until they rage quit from the game? Kino.
>>750273239Yes, and they remember and have different dialogue in the player setup in future games. The extra easy guy is sad as fuck and says he doesn't want to play with you.
>>750273239The Venice expansion introduced two new mechanics, sabotaging your opponent's islands through actions like inciting revolts, poisoning their wells and so on and outright buying their islands if you can secure enough positions on their council. There are two scenarios dedicated to bullying the NPCs to teach you these mechanics.
>>750271665Spices grow only on southern islands
>mfw playing anno 1800 and my peace loving neighbors unfortunately (for them) have oil I need to keep my "investors" suitably comfortable with electricity, champagne and cigars.
