How impressive was Resident Evil remake in 2002?

To normalfags it was super impressive, the most realistic graphics ever.To people aware that it's some png images and higher-poly characters using resources saved by doing that, not very.
>>750693075>impressiveI actually dont remember being very impressed with it, which I played it around launch.It was only much later when the whole remake old games because a thing I realized how much quality it is for a remake.in fact I vaguely remember being rather disappointed with the added content like lisa trevor not going anywhere and being a rather nothing burger side plot and disliking crimson heads.Then too RE1 was still in my memory.I played RE2 before 1 and only played RE1 in 99.

It does not reduce the artistic merits and insane visual fidelity the game provided, double so on the underdog Nintendo system - which actually was stronger than PS2.Not to mention having ANIMATED backgrounds, that also had dynamic lighting effects cast on them from characters and other props, is still impressive to this day. Remember: this was the era where the latest mainstream graphical powerhouses were games like Max Payne 1 and GTA3. Only Silent Hill 2 really compared to REmake.Posting the old 2001 pre-view mag clips again.
