It felt like it'd have been better served as its own IP given how little it had to do with the first game's events or characters. It was still a great game though - and something it definitely did better than the first one is rewarding the player for exploring via the destructible environments, like the secret railgun the player can get during the Complex level fighting the gunship by blasting through the elevator and climbing down the scaffolding. RF1 pretty rarely took advantage of its destructible environments.Games like that are also virtually impossible to see made today because everyone insists on using the same prebaked slop engines like UE5 instead of programming proprietary ones specialized for unique, specific gameplay tasks.

Some of its features, like the way it handled aiming with lock-on was actually taken by Valve in their port of Half-Life, which didn't have that feature on PC. The setting was on Mars where players, using a powered environment suit, work for an evil megacorp that uses its distance from the Earth to perform illegal human experiments and work the miners like slaves. The player, Parker, was a teenager with attitude from a bad home who ducked home at 18 to go join the mines since obviously no one on Earth had any idea what was going on there. Fast forward a year and the game begins with Parker walking towards his shift in the mines where he gets caught up in a rebellion sparked by the Red Faction, the name that terrorists among the miners gave themselves when plotting their revolt.

Jill can kind of get away with it if she uses Acid grenades on Hunters and doesn't waste them on Yawn

Finished Ada's campaign in RE6. I can see why anons here claim it's the best one, it has the least amount of annoying things, and is shorter, which tones down RE6's problem of overstaying its welcome. Chapter 1 is weird because the game wants you to stealth despite the stealth mechanics being poorly done. Chapter 5 is terrible since Ada is on that helicopter for way too long, and having to fight Simmons again isn't fun. I also did play it on co-op, and I used Agent, the many problems Agent has are, hilarious.>Inexplicably can't open any doors>Can't open briefcases>Some areas are hard coded to drop only arrows, which's stupid because Agent doesn't have the bowgun>If the Ada player decides to advance without you, you'll just be teleported which gets disorienting>There's a weird softlock in chapter 2 where if you advance to an area as Agent but Ada doesn't, then Ada is locked outside, and even after killing zombies the door won't open>Chapter 3's monorail fight against that chainsaw guy is annoying because Agent can't swing around to avoid its attacks, so it's the only area in the game where a playable partner makes a fight actually harder, because the chainsaw guy swings fast and I haven't found a way to dodge his attacks in that small area, so it became a DPS check>Chapter 4 is particularly miserable, because when you're searching for the passcodes and having to deal with Rasklapanje and other J'avo, there are too many doors that Agent can't open, so you have to wait for Ada to open doors for youMost fun we had was coming up with lore for Agent (Agent can never truly die because he can't open the gates of heaven or hell. He's Ada's schizophrenia, and the reason she hasn't shown up since 6 is because she's locked in an asylum. Or he is real but suffers from severe door deficiency. And ultimately the reason Carla lost is because she doesn't have an Agent of her own), but otherwise, while Ada's pacing was refreshing, it's still a RE6 campaign.
