In hindsight, as badly planned as Konpeki Plaza was, daddy Arasaka showing up and getting killed was probably the big unexpected fuckup. There were tons of small areas it could've went way worse and V and Jackie spent hours doing nothing but sit on their asses in a hotel room. As badly planned as it all was, it could've worked near perfectly.

You meet people/gangs/corpos along the adventure and when you get in good relations you get access to assets (solos, netrunners, techies) and when a fixer talks to you you can basically select a team of assets to complete the job without you on site. Depending on the quality of said assets and success chance the mission can succeed or fail and you get a cut of the reward (this would take some ingame time ofc). This is only possible if there were some kind of procedural generated gigs, hence the extra work, since the player cannot lose content related to the main quest. This could be based on street cred that is gained or lost on success/failure of said missions. He could also get the streetdeal special ability to pay double for a specific item, like "I want a comrades hammer at max tier" and it would show up after a while (fixers are black market traders too).Corpos are trickier since they need to act within the corporation. They could have their own resource (political capital or something) and be given harder than usual gigs where they can call temporary reinforcements from the company they work for for combat purposes. Like "raid Arasaka installation X" and then according to their status they could call a bunch of soldiers/mechs, etc to raid the place alongside him. Both classes would need to be weak by themselves though and could maybe get a bodyguard companion or something.
