All they want is someone to be in charge so they don't have to think and they don't have to be responsible. They'll abandon Kisaki the second she shows any weakness in order to follow someone who shows no weakness, no matter how much worse of a leader they are.

You think the game is secretly Nikke because of volume 3, but the game tries to be almost the complete opposite. They never want to focus on the suffering, they guarantee students are never seriously going to be hurt or die, this is a story about rising above suffering and telling the story that its unecessary. We can in fact find the happy ending without people dying in the process.
