Has anyone figured out the best settings for vibe transfer on NAI4.5?
>>535982796Don't know about best, but I tend to use settings like this, keeping strengths between 0.3 and 0.5.I find that the value of Normalize (which is 1.0 absolute total strength) is too low for my tastes. Having said that, higher than this has often lead to tone and background bleed troubles, some of which can be offset by high emphasis, but sometimes not.>https://files.catbox.moe/in964g.png
>>535984656Thank you for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate it! I haven't used NAI since 1.0 so I'm still getting used to the new tools. Is there a reason why you're using 4 images in particular?
>>535985015I spend a lot of time just running two vibe pairs together from my gigantic folder of images just to see what it results in. It can be fun to see - especially with two widely different styles - what the results can be.The negative vibes I've been using to counter some of the bleed issues just a smidge. Its not as useful of a tactic as it was in v4, but it still helps and can sometimes clean up quality issues a vibe may have.
>>535986034Ah I see, that's really cool that you're using it to combine two drastically different vibes to produce something new. Your outputs are really striking as a result!Gotcha, it sounds like even if the negative vibes aren't as strong as v4 they're helping stabilize things in the background. I'll make sure to include those in the future.

I've been using R1 to establish the writing style and personalities before switching over to 3.1 to produce better results. I've seen people complain about it being dry or too chaste but it doesn't have those issues if it has a good chunk of context to emulate. That said, if you're a poorfag and have free r1 available, I don't think there's much point in bothering with 3.1, there isn't exactly a jump in quality it's just faster and a little different.

>>536251485deepseek v4
>>5362514853.1 is literally a skill issue. It's heavily reliant on the content you feed it. If it's chaste, soulless, and dry that's your fault.
>>536254518I guess it is because I'm getting filtered real hard by it. Can't get it to not do its thinking, when I use an assistant prefill at the end it violently shits itself, it's just a mess that seems to be in some way specific to my combination of SillyTavern and OpenRouter versus using the API direct or whatever.
>>536251485>>536254518I might be retarded but I haven't noticed any difference. Aside from the fact that official API is sort of slow.
>>536254975Ah, I'm using Deepseek directly to SillyTavern. I'm glad I'm not using OpenRouter.
>>536254518Tbh I haven't used it yet, just wanted to fish for people's opinions.
>>536255235Yeah I can only hope that there's something that needs to be updated in Tavern specifically or the providers need to change something and they'll figure it out or something like that. Or there's one weird trick I haven't figured out.
I'm using Deepseek directly into Sillytavern and it works fine for me. For story generation, I am not finding much of a difference between reasoner and chat modes. No mention of ozone so far, but it still uses the same tiny pool of character names. It did surprise me once with a line regarding a bunch of women in a harem competing with each other for their master's favor. Something like "A gilded cage full of birds so obsessed with occupying the highest perch that they forgot what the sky looks like."
>>536256748What's your temp? I usually use 1.5/.6
It was kinda cool in Berserk.
>>536251485more slop probably
I wish there was a better UI for using deepseek. Storypad is kinda barebones and I don't like that sillytavern forces a chat-like interface
>>536275395If you enter a /single command as a message in SillyTavern, it transforms the chat interface into a document much like NovelAI. Granted, under the hood you're still running instruct models and the data is sent and received in the chat format every bit as before, but if your objection is purely on the visual side of things, that should solve it for you.
I'm putting together a party, you should join.
>>536277656Nah my objection is on the interface level, I tried that and was still annoyed that it separated what I input and what the LLM output into different parts when I wanted to go back and edit it.

Is anyone on Deepseek still having a good experience after the update? I'd been loving Deepseek for a while, but '3.1' is way worse, and most concerningly, is giving me uh-ohs. I'm hoping it's just my presets somehow (Been using https://rentry.org/88fr3yr5 the whole time) - is there one that works with 3.1? I hate fucking around with providers but it seems they're going to stop hosting v3 on their API, and I'm probably going to have to switch to openrouter or something.
>>536429963To be quite honest, R1 and regular 3 is more than good enough for me. I keep seeing people fellate Sonnet and Opus, but those models never did anything for me. Deepseek is far more enjoyable, at least for my prompting style.
>>536429963Are you using the instruct? If so it's smarter but sloppier and a little more restrictive. I generally recommend OR over the API anyway, more options and lets you use the old models indefinitely

>>536429963Feel good that NAI's text model doesn't shit itself after every update. You have to be very poor or very stupid to think paying 25$ per month for a quality service is too expensive.

>>536469405That'll make my portait mods a lot easier, at leastHope it works with VT so I can nail the style too
>>536471332Maybe on full release. They said the preview will have less functionality and will only support a single character, for now.
>>536381418A lot of NAI's major releases in the last 2 years seem to end up in October or in the weeks immediately preceding or following it. Erato was released on 23rd of September last year. Anime v1 was released in October. Anime v2 was released in October. Anime v3 was released on the 15th of November. Looks like the trend will continue this year.
>>536471332I think I heard something about it having a toggle as to whether it's supposed to mimick the style as well, but I'm not sure if that'll be in this first version.
Ngl, I'll probably resub to NovelAI once the textgen model comes out, but I can't see myself using it for more than 1-2 months unless they magically pull off some miraculous leap and give us a near-frontier strong model with a fat context allowance (+40k). It's really not their fault, but the insanely cheap Chinkware is already too good and it will most likely only get better.
>>536381565Do I select chutes or fireworks and it just begins working like text completion? Cause I am trying to do this in Kobold Lite, but the model is still in chat mode
>>536406720>talemate is actually neatsell me on this without making me change anything in the lorebooks, it's way too late for that. Just today I've made 5 for a really obscure ttrpg nobody has ever even heard of.
>>536471332It's sounding like it won't have it when it launches, if ever. I guess I'll have some edge case uses, but that's a pretty big interest killer for me with this feature and DM overall, unless the latter is EXCEPTIONALLY good at maintaining the image's style that it's altering.
>>536493871You need to do a few things. First you need to hook it up to a text completions endpoint specifically (/v1/completions, not /v1/chat/completions). The reason is the latter applies the instruct template by default, and you don't want to apply any templateYou'll also need to disable all of the template tags (<|start|>, <|end|>, etc.). It's been a long time since I've used Kobold, but there should be a settings menu for that somewhereAnd lastly this has nothing to do with functionality, but you'll want to use a UI that's text completions / classic NovelAI based. Kobold should have this option stashed away somewhere as well, since that was its original UIFrom there, paste a decent amount of text in (or write it yourself), neutralize the samplers (temperature 1.0 is basically perfect for most things with DS v3.1) and then just generate like you would NovelAI
>>536502460Why do you doom? They already said they plan to add it later. It's a preview,
>>536503945Lastly, I'll add that having used it a lot the past few days, the DS 3.1 text completion is by far my favorite out of any model I've used, and I say this after being pretty meh on the actual instruct model
>>536504524Where? The only thing they've said is that it's a preview, yeah, but no NAI staff have answered the question about vibes yet far as I can see in the last couple days besides user speculation.
>>536504524>Why do you doom?I like clicking demons and dodging their fireballs
>>536507165They have stated multiple times that it's a preview and that it has limitations on what they intend to add to it. Why do you immediately resort to dooming, instead of taking their word for it and learning some patience?
>>536503945>>536503945NTA but thanks, Im gonna try it out. It's gonna be a pain to make it work with Novelcrafter though, probably have to set up a proxy service to convert chat to text completions and then back.
>>536507951Well, inpainting doesn't have it either (and they don't intend to add it), and it sounds like this will be more of an adjacency feature since its fed the same way as vibes.I'd apologize for sounding like I'm dooming (even though its a feature I can live without regardless and I'll still be using NAI because I love it), but you also lied, so I think that makes us even.
>>536508598Staff repeatedly state that it has limitations at the moment (repeated remarks that it's a preview and thus will have fewer features than release, which all but implies that it will have additional features when it's fully released) when asked about vibes.Well-adjusted people take that at face value and do not doom about the full release not having any additional features from the preview. They choose instead to wait for the actual full release before deciding that it might as well not be worth it, because it definitely won't support vibes. Despite their being no indication from staff that it won't support them.Instead, you decide to doom about what the full release will be capable of, based on nothing but speculation. Despite the staff reassuring people that it's a preview.>inpainting doesn't have it eitherThey have actually stated multiple times that they do, in fact, intend to add it. This confirms to me that you don't know what you're talking about.
>>536508694Okay anon.
>>536509106I like how you ignore his earlier comment where he states what they plan to do. Why are you like this?
Do not respond to me any further, doomfag. I tried my best to be civil, but if you choose to doom, despite evidence to the contrary, that's on you, not me. Now kindly fuck off. Other staff members have stated similar words, that it is planned for AFTER DIRECTOR MODE. Not that you give a shit.
>>536492496I'm curious if its going to be instruct or text complete or what. I have not been keeping up with recent text models, but last I did instruct was kind of the "big meme", is that still the case these days?
>it may come later>this means it will never come laterI don't know, Jack, this doesn't look like bud lied. Where is the proof that they don't intend to add it? Additional review of developer commentary is all catered toward "we're working on it". In other words, not a confirmed refusal. Must people build mountains from each and every molehill they choose to die on?
>theoretically possible but not planned>doable but not a priority>may come laterSure sounds like a whole lot of "we're not confirming we're actually going to do it and might just let it fall away" to me.
It'd sure be nice if we had a community manager to set things straight and settle this dispute
>>536492496Deepseek is open source, they've already finetuned a dogshit model and tried to make the best of it, I feel as if they'd perform very well with a deepseek finetune. That's assuming they can afford to run it though, isn't it considerably more intensive than mistral?
>>536513816All you do is doom.
>>536509996It's obviously going to be text complete, with maybe a half-assed instruct ability as their previous models had.>I did instruct was kind of the "big meme", is that still the case these days? You mean instruct models in general? They have their issues but the general intelligence and capability of models put out by top labs still make them worth using over anything else.
>>536514045They already confirmed the new model is a homebrew Super Kayra MoE. Jokingly called Tenjin; its actual name hasn't been confirmed yet.
>>536514045The main problem for NAI with running Deepseek or other models of equivalent size would be the memory requirements. Going from Erato (70B with fp8) to Deepseek v3.x (671B with also fp8) is basically a 10-fold jump in size. It being a MoE with a fairly small number of active parameters makes inference affordable but the entire model still needs to be loaded and NAI isn't exactly swimming with GPUs. Erato can fit on 1-2 h100s but Deepseek at the same quantization level would need around a dozen or so depending on implementations of KV caching and exact context lengths. Of course they could quantize it down further but I don't think they'd be able to handle even 4-bit quants reliably, and the lower they go the more they'd be lobotomizing the model.
They already confirmed they're not finetuning Deepseek, so your conversation is pointless.
The conversation is discussing the possibility of doing it, not whether it's being done, thougheverbeit.

>>536517816Nothing I do is performative. You expect me to act civil, yet none of you bother to do the same. Next time, don't call me a liar, especially when I provide you express proof that there was no reason for you to doom in the first place! >>536516140Yeah, it's a shame that this problem is effectively only going to get worse, Deepseek or otherwise. The current "meta" with LLM development is expansion regardless of cost, they're making advancements but at the expense of bloating requirements while Nvidia cums their pants at the thought of selling more high-end and overpriced cards. The result is models having huge leaps in hardware requirements, while the hardware itself is rapidly ballooning in price and energy expenditure. The industry really needs more people with a focus on making models more efficient and cheaper to run, and if Nvidia's competitors could start putting out cheaper more energy efficient hardware that'd be a massive boon too. At least Anlatan's trying to make an effort with the former even if it's taking quite a bit to materialise.
>>536518158Calling me a liar is an insult, no matter how you rationalize otherwise. >>536518192I trust they will be able to repeat the magic of Kayra, as they should have done instead of wasting time fine-tuning Llama for Erato.

>>536516140I didn't know Erato was fp8
Anyway, if you want actual worthwhile discussion about textgen, instead of waxing hypotheticals about a model they already confirmed they're not ever going to finetune. Why not use that brainpower to try and calculate how large their theoretical MoE will have. How many experts it will comprise, based off the dripfeeds we've received from Kuru and Sage constantly talking about how they're making it be as big as they can fit within their GPUs.>>536519226Do not act like you didn't post this: >>536508598>but you also lied>>536519245They never specified anything. >>536518192It's unfortunate but if you look at the broad picture, there's still cause for optimism. Token pricing is a big one--having something on the level of Deepseek available at too-cheap-to-meter pricing felt like a distant dream two years ago. No reason (so far) that trend won't continue, and that bodes well. And China is already now greatly focusing on developing its native chip technology. Catching up won't be very easy but Nvidia certainly won't go unchallenged and will have to innovate further to keep its lead, which is good for us regardless of who comes out on top.

>>536554834You're in luck. Good models on Openrouter are much cheaper now than they were a year ago thanks to the Chinese open sourcing some really quality ones. If you put in $10 of credits there, you (for now) get free use of Deepseek (671B) and Kimi (1T) models via Chutes and both are considered very good at creative writing with the catch being that Chutes logs your prompts. And even the paid versions are cheap--the latest Deepseek costs $0.27 per million input tokens and $1.10 per million output tokens on the official API, with input token costs decreasing to $0.07 upon cache reading. Ironically the worst part of it is the RPG stuff, the gear and relative power-levels stuff still isn't quite clicking for non-coom stories, but for gooning it's peak

Fresh prompt: https://prompts.forthisfeel.club/7754>It's probably a bad thing to say that some streamer was an important figure in your life, but, well, that's what I say, and it's true. But then, he was gone. Leaks, blown out of proportion, an attempt at an apology, failed, and then gone. It was all a farce. He did nothing wrong. And when, somehow, I run into him, working at a gas station, seemingly completely dead inside... I feel like I have to try to have him know that I still believe in him. I have no idea what I think this will achieve. But I have to try.Another one in my recent tryst with broken or shattered characters putting up a front meeting genuine sincerity and struggling with what that means for them, this time with a failed streamer. Spend some time with him, maybe get to know him a bit better, and make him feel like somebody still cares.

We have also received confirmation that vibes will not work in conjunction with it and that one character only until the full release.
>>536631894>UnfortunateI'm sorry you feel that way. I'll have fun using artist tags and negative tags like a normal person would. Those are far more worthwhile for my use case.
Nobody cares about vibes.
>>536569958If you're using the sapphire/Gemini sub, you could also just ping it directly for concepts in AI Studio instead, and then copy-paste those. But yeah like the other anon said, I've ALWAYS got notepad open when I'm playing.I've been using it to fluff up my world backstory and occasionally give some ideas for factions or other concepts.>>536605656The updating character info has backfired for me more than it hasn't far as I can tell. I just lose too much information, unless I'm misunderstanding how it works (and that info is still stored somewhere?)But yeah, the power level stuff feels a bit jank to me still. So often I enter a Level 1 area and its filled with Tier 5 enemies ready to gape my adventurebussy.

In that time, I imagine his Twitch moderators would have organized this impromptu fanart collaboration where everybody was encouraged to send something in (most likely in digital form), which they would have then collected and sent to him prior to his first stream back as a way to cheer him up. And so only then would his first stream back happen, where he looks at the full set.>In your Lorebook, I think I'd insert 'slogan, ' in 'day!" things'.Fair, though I think "catchphrase" fits better in this context, slogan sounds too corporate to me.>It is a bit sad thinking about some of the creators and LPers from back in the day and wondering what they're doing nowadays. >>536729914this one is a lot more palatable
>>536730128I mean a lot of the errors he ends up pointing out are just things you've probably always taken as read in writing and never interrogated as to what the "correct" thing to do would be (so you've basically just written it this way because you're used to it, so there's no judgement in pointing out that it would be correct another way), so it's an opportunity to learn and improve, and a lot of the other ones are kind of just matters of taste or flow for you to consider as options. The only way you really get better is practice and putting your stuff out there, and posting a prompt here is the most low-stakes environment you could ever imagine, basically perfect. And honestly, EditorAnon's kinda just the sweetest guy around, you've got to be to read through every prompt posted here and give your honest feedback.

>>536706672Still mostly fiddling around with the beginning sections and seeing how they come together, here's one I got that I really liked.
>>536719854You're welcome.Yeah, that's fair. Though it does make the phrasing in the lorebook about him not streaming and when he returned a little awkward, but that's easy enough to just brush aside.I wasn't sure on the right word there, but I knew something needed to go in there. It wanted something like a comma, but there's no clean way to put one in as is, so fleshing it out a smidge adds that extra pause.Well, you caught a bit more popularity than I did, not that it's a measuring contest to speak of. I always found it difficult to keep up, at least in part from the same reasons any other habit is hard for me to maintain. My commentary style probably works better for streams, but even that's hard to maintain. If it helps, the first video back, I can say from experience, does often get a bigger boost in views.>>536730128Thank you!Honestly, I get it. When you're unsure about things, any suggested change can feel like a decisive cut. But also, I agree with most things >>536731105 said (though I'm not sure my heart is prepared for that sort of compliment). The stakes are about as low as possible without it being literally tossed into the void, unless you should manage to write something that gets popular (which, while a heady feeling, is its own sort of anxiety), but even then, it's limited to the people who would find it, which is to say mostly just here in the thread. (And even that's not tied to much of an identity.) If it helps, I do try to be a little more careful and in-depth about suggestions if it seems like someone who hasn't done a lot of writing before so they can learn something new for their next piece, as well as encourage them toward hopefully writing said next piece. (If only that didn't lead to a more daunting-looking wall of text, though...)Not to mention that I do my best to couch most things as suggestions or opinions. It's surprisingly awkward to feel like an imposing figure with a red pen ready to slash through someone's words.

Is there a way to customize AIR map? I want to make a mansion to explore, but this whole location travel range makes it a pain the ass to traverse, with some locations cluttered together and others linked by a single room.
>>536772753if you're on the alpha channel, you can customize location placement for any given area and even total map sizethe game will also try to generate new areas (not locations, whole areas) while you're playing and also entire new worlds for your getting isekai'd needs
>>536773397Holy shit, Max is cooking alright
>>536772753>>536773397...but I don't think you can make just ONE area smaller to make your mansion workideally, you'd want to use sublocations for that, but the only location contained within another you can generate before starting the game is your starting location as far as I know
>>536773397>>536772753actually, you can make the mansion work by having all the locations, for example, be located in the upper right corner of the area, but then you can no longer control the relative placement of those locations (this matters if you want the mansion's right wing to be where it should relative to the left wing)so yeah
>>536774390I will tinker with it a little later. Didn't expect the alpha branch to actually have killer features
>>536772753>>536774390This is actually reminding me to update my haunted mansion scenario, which was using themed wings (entertainment, guest, service, etc). Kind of a tough scenario to play though since I haven't gotten the AI around to understanding that cameras and salt hurts goasts.
I have no trouble getting Deepseek to output any explicit sexual content with text completion, but I've sent 5 different explicit prompts on Kimi K2 the same way and it blocked 4 of them. I actually had very little trouble jailbreaking Kimi when set to chat completion, but with text completion it appears to have a stick in its ass that won't budge.
>AIR updates my player character's description to call me a quick-witted provocateur
Vibes will become obsolete with director mode.>it's very different from vibe>I guess you could say vibe is like a 0iq version of DM>but yeah very different
Couldn't you use vibe transfer to make an image, and then character reference it? Or use whatever additional features director mode will have to copy the style of what you transferred originally?
With this latest Anlatan news about image gen updates and "we haven't forgotten about text gen", I've come to realize they have actually sold out. The company that was founded on the shoulders of everyone who quit AI Dungeon back then has completely abandoned them because of MONEY.Yeah, I'm salty about it. I didn't want to acknowledge it, but Anlatan is guided by THE LOVE OF MONEY.Why can't we have good things? Oh yeah, because the love of money (capitalism) is the root of all evil.
Yikes, dude, get help. They need money to afford training. Would you rather they capitulate to investors and actually sell out?

So what's the deal between AIRL and NAI these days? I've been out of the game for awhile, thought about checking the thread for updates before dropping another sub on NAI, and this AIRL thing sounds interesting. I know it's a steam game, is it easy to set up? Are the generations actually good, or just 'good enough' for coomers to mash through? Are prompts monitored? I don't get into anything too fucky, but I still don't want some random nigga to have logs of me RPing my mommy fetish.
>>536794739Not writing but I;m trying to get a feel for Roguelite for some RPG adventuring in the future. Might use the default worlds thing.
>>536788887Kek
>>536795395NAI has a pending textgen update in the works, currently textgen side is meh, not recommended for AIRL use. Imagegen is banger though.AIRL I have no experience with using, but it recently got updated. Other people in the thread use it though, so wait for them to respond if you want tips.
>>536795076Crossdressing idols (male).
>>536794739henlo comradeI'm future-proofing my AIR mod by deleting the prompts that aren't absolutely necessary and tweaking the rest based on my notes from playing the game

Hello, I'm a shitposter, I like shitting up the thread by pretending I'm an actual poster, while shitting on anyone who doesn't fall for my gaslighting tricks! Please ignore my constant samefagging! Of course, I'm not going to bother posting any of the stories I'm supposedly writing, I'll just talk about it and hope nobody realizes I haven't wrote shot today!
>>536795395AIRL uses whatever models you feed it, local or online via API keys. If you trust a model for coom, you can trust it in AIRL as all its doing is feeding instructs and prompts back and forth, and running the returned text through an event checker on the side so that it knows what to do in a story turn - like take or give damage, receive items and EXP, generate new characters or locations, etc. AND if your adventure ends up TOO NSFW, it apparently switches over to a NSFW-friendly older gemini model or something for that story turn, so you won't see denials.I use NovelAI for images in AIRL. v4.5 works quite well with all the natural prose even, and it's fast. For text, I use Gemini. I don't really care if google knows that I'm having sexy gay space adventures or fending off rapey big-dick mutants or having pillowy cuddle fights. And as the other anon said, NAI textgen is not recommended for AIRL, as AIRL is heavily reliant on instruct for interactions. There is a free cloud-based older gemini option you can try everything with. It's slower but it's really not all THAT bad if you want to test things out.If you need any more info, or want some dumb scenarios to try, or NAI prefix suggestions, lemme know. At work right now but I can share stuff in a few hours.
>>536797072You might regret that if you've seen the stuff I do.
>>536797072Why would anyone post stories in a thread that has no reason to exist? /aicg/ is where people ho of they want feedback. This thread only exists to shill scam companies like Novel-A-Lie and Rougeshart.

The same reason why Tracianon left. He used to come here and post about his CIA spy warfare dog girl lore and run recaps for the thread. Much more valuable contributions than throwing a sissy bitch fit at me for telling you to stop responding to the trolls blatant crosslinking bait.
>>536792696Comments like this are pointless. All you have to do is not reply to bait, ignore it, and instead post a story. Hell, if you ignored it and asked everyone what they were writing instead, that also works. I'm not going to be picky about it. >>536801435Great minds think alike, my problem is that I always go straight to the lewd with no buildup. I just start up the prompt and force it to go one way without any "freedom" for the model to get creative.
