You can definitely be still f2p but since I actually really like the game, I don't mind investing 9€ per year to play safer and still feel like I'm contributing to the game's life expectancy (even tho I'm a grain in the desert). A factor was also me getting a real job instead of jumping from a stage to another so spending 10 bucks yearly on a gacha in 2029-2021 would've definitely been more of a waste for me than it is now.I never thought whales were hateworthy since they're the only reason the game stays afloat. In the end it's 99% about knowing your priorities and always preparing for the next new banner or favourite
