You can't really get too far ahead of the pack, some of the shortcuts are/were genuinely slower than going on a straight meaning you could do a ton of cool shit for no real reward or even higher placing, while you can go all around the open world there isn't tons to do and maps don't tend to show over half the actual challenges or areas of intrest. There are some people who also weren't super fond of the way grand Prix(I think that was the mode) worked since some races were just get from point A to B but in the open world and instead of just being an optional transition it locked out stage variety and technically counted as a whole race no matter how short

It disuades me enough to not buy it since Air ride was also announced and keeps it's scale more relative while giving a lot of old options save for the only kirby copy & meta and Dedede stuck on unique rides options.

Galacta Knight's canon is everything he's constantly pulled through time and space, which is all canon as shown by SKC being an Elseworld that's canon after Magolor goes to it, along with Meta Knightmare and The True Arena having continuity in KPR. Dunno what order it's in, though he technically hasn't appeared in the main timeline I don't think? Morpho got him in the Guest Star timeline then showed up in the main timeline in FL, so barring Time Travel or a game set in the past I think Galacta is gone for good.

I think saying they're "just" level remixes is very uncharitable, the similarities only tend to be the very opening and the lower detail version of the original stage you get to see in the background in certain spots, otherwise the levels are basically completely new areas sharing the theming, and I think these new levels themselves are VERY damn solid, feels like a nice HiAD-tier bump challenge wise in my opinion, maybe slightly easier due to the fact you do unlock it simultaneously with the rest of the game on a clean playthrough. I think the 3 new mouthfuls were used very well for their respective areas, Cog is definitely my favorite with the jumping between walls and all. There's also some gorgeous vistas in the new stages with the starry effect and all, stuff like being able to take a detour in Wondaria and sit down on a ferris wheel. Fallen Star Beach is another great one, seeing the seafloor out in the open is great, there was definitely a lot of effort put into making the stages feel new even with the base game's themes. Absolutely worth it.

I'm still a bit tired so I think I'll just post some thoughts I've had in terms of lore relating to Elfilis and the SCW stuff rather than any greens for now>Meteon is the aggressive brother, Elfilis is the elegant brother, and this is reflected both in their designs as well as animations.>An example off the top of my head is how they each summon the spear to their hand. Elfilis is rather subtle, summoning it into his right hand by his side, without much of a gesture other than glaring down at Kirby after the fact. Meanwhile, Meteon actively holds out his hand in a much more tense pose as he summons it, and swings it to his side.>Another is the spear dash. Elfilis looks like he's dashing alongside the spear with his offarm tucked in some more, meanwhile Meteon's offarm drags behind, as though he's being dragged by the spear.>With the way Meteon has his core and the fact we see Elfilis use his horns to channel pyschic energy for the beam attack, I believe what Meteon is doing is actively expose his core in order to allow his horns to channel the psychic energy from it much more raw and directly, at the expense of leaving his most vital part open to attacks.>Elaborating, compare how each of them falls down when you go into the Core/Giant phase. Elfilis grabs his spear, spins it around, stabs it into the ground to hold himself up, before ultimately falling. Was thinking about this earlier, but I think FL and SCW make me like the Kirby universe a lot more. Like I think a big issue with the prior games is that despite traveling planets the universe always felt so small. Even with other civilizations like Ripple Star they were just sort of throwaway in favor of keeping the focus on Popstar and often times were only visited because of something that happened on Popstar. Forgotten Land having all of this interesting history and lore from a time literally millennia in the past that we cant possible know everything about that just happened away from Popstar and away from Kirby that we just stumble on by happenstance is really interesting and makes the universe feel a lot bigger since there's likely so many cool things happening out there in the cosmos we dont know about. Very motivation for modding/storytelling stuff honestly, but in general I hope they keep expanding the universe away from Popstar, they can do so much interesting stuff with that. Regardless am for sure going to try to do more Kirby stuff with this in mind.

It genuinely already is my game of the year off itself alone, and the remixed bosses actually threw me for a loop, fuckin' Morpho setting up the ghosts while also doing the tornados is nasty, same with Wild Dedede opening with the inhale, caught me offguard. I highly disagree on the price, for 20 bucks it's 1/3 of the levels of the base game which tracks, and the levels are longer than the base game ones too. I just don't think it's enough of an issue to say it's "uninspired" or "boring" when everything it ties to goes out of its way to add deeper layers to what was already implied, I do feel like the strength of "recolors" is the fact they can give us some extra depth to the characters we were already looking at, which is something I actually somewhat hope for myself. I will say, bosses-wise, I can somewhat see why they didn't add them seeing as this is also meant to be unlocked alongside the main game, so I'm not sure they could stuff them at the end of each world without it being odd. I wish they'd been added to Redgar at least, maybe without including Wild Dedede or making it so the boss gauntlet level needs you to have unlocked Lab Discovera at least. I think having the new fights in the new arena fits, though, would've been neat if they'd been given some slight crystal makeovers too (and I do feel like changing Morpho's texture to be EX's alone would've made him feel very new seeing the changes his attacks got as-is), won't deny that. I think the changes to the fights make them distinct enough at least, they all feel much more aggressive than even the existing Z Cup fights. Reminds me of going from Soul Melter to Soul Melter EX having the Parallels. I can see the annoyance even if I don't quite agree with it, to be fair.
