Finished Hisui's route (2 days ago, technically). It was great! Near Side's fight scenes were fun, sure, but Nasu's writing shines when Shiki starts losing his fucking mind in Far Side. Everything in this route was kino. Watching Shiki's psyche deteriorate and trying to decipher what the hell is happening while he gets mindfucked was awesome. Then, Shiki's head clears up, and we get to see best girl Akiha in action! Shame she died, though. Her life was short, but kino. SHIKI not even recognizing Shiki after everything that happened to him was amazing. And the true ending might be one of my favorite scenes in any VN I've read. Akiha's route is still my favorite overall, but Hisui's true route ending is my favorite scene from Tsukihime so far. Ironically, the part I cared for least was Hisui herself - shy heroines tend to be either my most or least favorite, and unfortunately Hisui falls into the latter group. Her initial character was boring, and she doesn't receive any development beyond admitting her feelings for Shiki until the very end of the route. . I understand that it's not really her fault as she wasn't the focus of the route, but it doesn't change the fact that every other heroine receives actual development while she doesn't. Not to mention she gets cucked. Sorry, Hisuibros, if there's any of you here to begin with. Routes - Akiha > Hisui > Ciel > ArcueidGirls - Akiha > Ciel >= Arcueid > HisuiNext is Kohaku's! Then Kagetsu Tohya!
