Anon who started the desert and badlands only biome world here, I don't know how to feel about this. I found a trial chamber which has a mangrove tree growing inside it, you can make as many saplings as you want from the leaves by applying bonemeal to the underside of them. I understand these trees are a right pain to clear up and don't offer much wood but I had hoped logs of any kind would be a few days away from now but hey, this is how things panned out so I'll take the win here even if it is such an annoying tree to take down when fully grown

I do understand the impulse (no pun intended) to avoid political topics, and I think the original instance was something he at first reacted to because… trans stuff has been heavily politicized. As a trans viewer, I had no idea about this, but I can already kind of see why his first instinct was to dismiss it as political, as it’s probable that most of where he hears about trans stuff is politics.

But this is also skizz we’re talking about, and it does not surprise me that as soon as someone explained to him what happened and why what he said got taken out of context, he probably felt terrible about it. He’s one of the most humble and kind hermits out there, feeling like that didn’t come across… that would stink.

But finding out about all of this from his response is best case scenario for me. He corrected himself, clarified, and moved on. He’s not a political streamer, he has no obligation to delve deeper into it, but letting us know where he stands is exactly what I think we needed to make sure this simmers down without any more issue. Also the stuff with his mods, but that wasn’t really his actions and he seems to have handled that ok too.

In the pursuit of monetization these top websites almost always rely on advertising to stay afloat, meaning they have tied their existence to the behest of what advertisers deem acceptable.
Even more so when you consider that Google itself controls a 40% market share of all digital ad spending.

And search engines like google continue to funnel in crowds into a smaller and smaller number of websites each year, with their censored search results. The internet is a hell of a lot smaller today and it's a fucking walled garden to sell you shit you don't need.

This is the internet people my age grew up in. Their entire view of the Internet is dictated by moderation and advertiser friendly standards and considering how much of a huge part the Internet has on culture of an ever more online and isolated youth.

When I have distant horizons on it "simplifies" some of my builds (most of them really) to colors that don't make sense beyond the render distance, but when I increase the render distance it bitches moans and cries at me in a popup and in chat that there is "really no reason" to have vanilla render distance beyond 8 and it will cause performance issues etc (lie, I have a good GPU).
I don't really WANT to set the vanilla render distance so high because I have the mod for a reason, but how do I make it adjust its LOD so it doesn't fall off a cliff and butcher my builds on the threshold? Is there any setting to make it more sane and gradual?

I've been thinking of starting an island locked run lately, since that's a thing I've always wanted to try as a teen and never got around to. Which version of the game would you recommend I play? I've seen the game has a billion new blocks now and to be quite honest I'm not sure I care too much about that.
I've heard there has been an update that did a huge worldgen overhaul a year or two ago, maybe I should just go with that one?

i only like minecraft because of the memories ive made with it. singleplayer is boring now and ive lost most of my childhood worlds. all my favorite servers i grew up with are either ghost towns, have had their worlds wiped, are closed, or several of the above, all the players have left, there are no good servers anymore. minecraft doesnt look the same anymore, it doesnt play the same anymore, and its bloated with no real direction other than keeping it alive for MS for literally 100 years. in the coming years updates will probably be generated by AI and the game will become even more aimless. they might already be.

I've just finished his face, where he's going to follow the player with his eyes as well as show different emotions

Endermen can spawn anywhere on the island, but they can only see the endermite if they are fairly close to it. If you build on the main island, only a small portion of the endermen that spawn will see the endermite and fall down the shaft. Building the farm out over the void ensures that the only place enderman can spawn are on the platform at the top of the shaft.
