Three Houses has never been on a New Years banner. That's mainly because OCs have been holding the New Years banner hostage since Book 2. 22 of the New Years units have been Heroes OCs. And we're guaranteed three more OC units thanks to Book 9.

If say you just want Laurent to be a magic unit, you probably shouldn't pair Miriel with someone like Vaike. She should instead be paired with Ricken, Libra, or Henry. And Robin will make any child unit good. Any attempt to make them bad would be out of some weird self-imposed challenge (you're better just not using said child unit). Same with Morgan. She's always OP.
