Instead of really building him the way they should have, everything falls on to the PT foils father who is the most generic and evil rapist in the entire game. This is the problem with his character. Shido sucks compared to Akechi, and if Akechi had actually killed Shido to take over his enterprise or cause mass hysteria and throw off Yaldabaoth, or trying to replace Shido with a shadow body double or some shit.....you could have gotten really weird and had Black Mask Akechi become more sinister and interesting as a mastermind of events in ways you never saw coming.Instead, he's no mastermind. Just a mad, sad dog. They had to bring him back in Royal and give him a sendoff in order to cover up for the fact that Black Mask received next to no development.
